Mi girlfriend broke the achilles past june too doing shuttle runs!!. Nowadays she's recovering but it takes a long time until you get the 100% but Gabi is very young and strong and she will come back soon with all the power!!. I've investigated a lot about this injury and it's very rare in womens without previous symptoms. In my girlfriend's case, the tear was indirectly caused by a quinolone antibiotic for urinary tract infection. It has been shown that quinolones directly affect tendons and more specifically the Achilles tendon, weakening it. Obviously, I don't know if Gabi had previously taken any antibiotic of this type, but this infection is very common in women, so if any of you are taking or have to take this antibiotic, it is highly recommended to stop sports activities while taking this medicine (even for a few more days). This is something that not all doctors know or that they omit when prescribing this type of antibiotic. If this helps to avoid even one tear, it would be fantastic. Sorry for the length of the comment. Lots of strength Gabi!!

It is the same rebound injury with achilles tear which Julie Foucher had at her last regionals with the rebound box jump, only this time from the hay balls, a freak injury but should continue to emphasize that this rebounding from that height has that danger. best recovery wishes to gabi and henrik happalainen

She seems so nice, and she did not deserve this. She will be back better ! There is one question people are asking, why is this so cold between her and horvath (or why it’s so cold between horvath and the other?). It is like it never happened that they were training together and were ‘bff’…

My heart hurts for Gabi, it was obvious that she is the best version of herself and the confidence she got during the Games could flourish now. So unfair but that’s part of the game. Speedy recovery, Gabi! ❤

They’ll need an mri to confirm if it’s full or partial rupture. The recovery will take a long time and is frustrating. I knew as soon as I couldn’t push off my toes. Did a workout with box jumps… 30 minutes later played in a volleyball game and it popped.
