IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please ALWAYS use resin with proper precautions including wearing proper PPEs (glove, mask, respirator etc) AND working in a well ventilated space. I recommend getting a hold of the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) info that every resin company has available to the public (by law). This has all the info about the resin you are using including the precautions you need to take and first aid care. Watch my resin safety video for more info: • RESIN SAFETY | Importa...

Thank you Amy for being so honest and clear in explaining everything in details! You are amazing 👍
miro maro glad it helped!
These are super cute!!
Can I use the same resin I use for tumblers for shaker keychains?
Using those condiment containers to hold the resin parts is such a good idea. Thanks!
i lost it at algebra...
I'm really enjoying this series. May I ask which brand of resin you are using in the video?
Beth Kalbach its listed in the description box!
I just found your page Amy! Thank you so much! I want to start doing resin art and this is a perfect guide! Question. Before you put in the stickers how long do you wait for the first thing layer to cure?
You can put the stickers right away or wait for the resin to get slightly thicker if you’re sticker has a tendency to float
My resin got stuck on my mold:( how can I prevent this?
This happens when you overdo it with a torch or a lighter when removing bubbles. Basically you’re melting the mold to the resin .Best to use a heat gun instead
Thank you so much for these tutorials 💕
Really inspired info on resin,💜 to try myself.
These Tutorials are so helpful. Thank you! 💕💕💕
hiiiiiiiii! I've watched this video and the other parts many, many times before I started to work with resin. My area doesn't have the resins you use - using art for doming isn't popular here, not many do it, but we've got a lot of different brands of resin, so I'm just trying to see what works best. I can't help but worry about bubbles. I don't understand why on your videos, you mix your resin and immediately put it into a mold / onto doming, and it never has any bubbles, neither during the mixing nor during the casting? When I mix my resin, it's so filled with bubbles it's cloudy. I always warm it up beforehand, and when I pour resin into the molds, or onto my pieces for doming, they still have a lot of bubbles. I use the torch to pop the bubbles but I always have some micro bubbles in the end. I don't know if it's the case that you live in much warmer climate than I do, but how home your resin gets literally no bubbles when you mix it? is it because of the resin brand and that may be the number 1 reason why my resin is bad for these projects? (I wanted to buy resin that has specifics as close as these of artresin / art'n'glow, but I can't find any documents online speycifying what are the physical specs of these brands)
You’ll get bubbles no matter what after mixing. There are ways to prevent the amount of bubbles in the resin but the brand and type of resin do play a huge role. Since different brands have different viscosity and bubble releasing quality you need to make sure the type of resin you’re using is what’s best for your project. I use two different types; one for casting and one for doming/coating. However for this video I use a very low viscosity resin with long pot life. I did I review on it so you can watch it for more details
i hate to admit that i haven’t done ✅ this in sooo long that,i had to go back,and relearn ‘ How To ‘ ! - love 💕 your tutorials btw,and yes i subscribed,and yes i always (almost always) leave a thumbs up 👍 ! !
So helpful and easy to understand! I can’t find in your description box, the name of the tool that you use to go along the edges, or the kind of person that you are using. Would you mind sharing what those items are?
ValleyMermaid Designs, it’s called a scriber tool. I made the one I’m using in the video but you can buy it on amazon. You can even use a large blunt needle or a tooth pick
Thanks! And I did not mean, “person” 😂! I meant, I could not find what kind of RESIN* you used, in the description area. Are you able to share that? Thanks again😊💕❣️
ValleyMermaid Designs oh lol, the resin used is listed in the description box
YEAY! Thank you!!!
You have good techniques♡
I bought the 10 minute resin in 2 parts. I only had time to stir it for 30 seconds before it began curing. Is that normal ? Is there something different i can do ?
Yes it is. If the resin says it cures in 10 min, the potlife is only 3 min
do you think I could mix both parts in like a silicone container instead of the cup? or stir/mix it with a silicone tool? instead of the plastics you suggested? for like an easier clean up and not creating too much plastic waste
That’s fine. I use silicone cups as well. Anything reusable with resin is fine. The PP plastic is actually reusable as cured resin. Will peel right off of it
Can you use oil based acrylic paints to color the epoxy? I heard you say oil based, so I just wanted to make sure...ty
You mean oil paints? Yes oil paints would work too.
Hi Amy, newbie here, it looked like you used paper stickers with the yellow piece. Were they paper? They seemed ok😀
None of the stickers I used were paper. They're all made of plastic
Is there a certain kind of squeeze bottle you can use for resin or can it be any kind? I've seen tons on amazon but I don't know which ones are good to use
Dani Michele I would recommend polypropylene or high/low density polyethylene plastic. They withstand chemicals well. These plastics are usually translucent and almost always used in food containers. So condiment squeeze bottles are perfect
What kind of paint willmake the resin transparent wile still being colored?
you can’t use paint if you want a transparent look. You can use transparent resin dyes, India inks, and alcohol inks to name a few
@@AmyMade oki thank you! I saw somebody making transparent colored shaker charms and i was wondering how they did that because they didint show what they used XD
hi! thanks for doing this instructional and useful video! i will be doing my first resin project next month and will definitely be using this guide! what resin brand do you recommend for beginners?
Hi! Glad you found it helpful. Honestly any 1 to 1 ratio would’ve great for beginners. It’s hard to recommend a brand since everyone has a different preference when it comes to resin. But in the beginning, it might be better to try cheaper priced brands since you may have a lot of mess ups as you learn to use it.
@@AmyMade thanks! : D
i was wondering where you got all your tools from?
Kat Shadow many different places including local shops, amazon, AliExpress, eBay, Etsy
@@AmyMade tyvm! idk if you are located in the us, but if so, what stores should I go to?
Kat Shadow you can find pretty much everything on amazon
@@AmyMade tyvm. I'm just trying to get all the information I can because I want to do resin crafting really soon. I want to know all I'll need and where to get them since I have no clue lol
Kat Shadow I admire that. It’s always good to do research before starting something new
