Crafter's Delights - Funny story ! - i started off as a Cat Person : in Idaho when i was just a little boy a neighbor worked for the forest service, and long story short he gave me a baby bobcat to take care of while he was gone (he was a bachelor) and i literally raised that Cat with an eye dropper as time went by Bobby (my Cat) started messing up the neighborhood dogs 😂 needle to say the city officials warned me to either get rid of him or they would put him in a zoo,so like a kid i took him back to more or less where he was found, and let him go back into the wild : he was about 7-8 months old by then ! - of course when i could I’d go look for him but,no i never saw him again.....true story.....there’s more but it takes to long to type it out....
See, here's the thing. I see cat, I click. I see cat in helpful video I like before I even watch the video. Win win! Also, I am looking at the nontoxic resins not only because of my multiple chemical sensitivities but also so I don't poison my cat with the fumes.
Could you please explain the pros and cons of uv resin. Im a beginner and I want to use uv resin in thicker charms but i am not sure if it will work the same way or if itll be different from using regular 2 part resins
Thank you so much for these videos!! I was really intimidated to try resin but your in depth explanations and conciseness really helped me feel eager to give craft making with resin a shot. Thanks a lot Amy!
Very informative, thank you. Would be awesome if you make video about "food grade" resins too! It is very hard to find decent amount of info in one place about this topic. Thanks ♥️
This was a great video, and I like that you went in-depth on so many topics that are perfect for beginners or anyone new to resin crafting. I can't wait to see your other videos for this series! :D
Finally a good video for beginner easy to understand! I was so digging so hard finally found s good video you explained everything really well please keep up these kind of videos!😌💗
Hey, I would want to know the difference between 2 parts resin and 1 part hardener, and 1 part resin and 1 part hardener. Is there any difference between the texture, which one is better?? And can we cure the resin without any machine like that curing machine?? Also what's the difference between UV resin?
This is a lot that I don’t understand what you’re trying to ask. 2 part resin and uv resin is very different. 2 part resin needs 2 part liquids (resin and hardener) to be mixed together for the curing to occur. Uv resin requires uv/led light to cure. I hope I answered your question
Wow! Talk about an in depth tutorial about resin. Very well done Amy!!! I learned some much from your series. Now I feel more comfortable & excited about working with resin. Thanks!!!
Hi there, I'm not sure if you answer questions here but I thought I'd ask anyway. I used a 2 part resin for the first time (also my first time using any resin at all) and I had a lot of trouble getting it off of my measuring cup and pouring cups. I measured both resin and hardner seperate to eachother in the same measuring cup and then put them in individual plastic cups until I had everything else prepared. Then I put the hardner in the resin cup and mixed them before pouring. Afterwards it was really difficult to clean all the cups and the popsicle stick I used to mix them. Is this just maybe to do with the plastic or was it an error on my part?
Yes uncured resin is difficult to clean out. It’s best to use baby wipes with rubbing alcohol. But to avoid cleaning the cups, you can measure both resin and hardener in the same measuring cup. Once mixed and poured out, you let the resin cure. Once cured, the resin can be peeled off the cup. Make sure you use cups that are made of silicone or PP5 plastic
Hi there! I love your channel and your tutorials!! I’ve learned so much!! I’ve got 3 kinds of resins, still haven’t tried it yet. Idk which one to use for a mold, or a tumbler. I have: Pixiss Diamond resin, Allumilite clear cast-2 part clear coating & casting resin (this is the only one that came with paper directions and I feel I understand this the most & how much I have to make up at once and what this is for), lastly I’ve got CounterCultureDIY Ultra Clear Fast Set (this one has the directions on website and bottle and it’s got the shortest amount of work time 15 mins and it says to “torch it”-which this kinda scares me but I’m still overwhelmed and stuck and haven’t started yet:/ !) thank you for your time and advice and help in advance! ~Alli🥰💕🌸🦋
@@AmyMade right!! Lol my bad! So which would I use for a beginner like me, for a tumbler (using it to apply the glitter and then seal it) and I’ve got a couple coaster molds (square and circle) I wanted to try too. Not sure if these are all appropriate for the different things. Ty!!🥰
I am super new on resin art and wanting to make beautiful pieces like you. I just had my 1st try and my resin bubbled a lot that no heat gun was getting rid of the bubbles...no sure what I have done wrong as I mixed both parts as in the instructions (ARTRESIN)... Any recommendations? Also I drop my alcohol ink but didn't spread, instead it looked like the drop just stayed there... Bit disappointed and wanting some comments on how can I improve. Thanks for reading and keep it up the great work.
Viviana Quintero micro bubbles are all about prevention. but not all resins are equal. Some resin will get more bubbles than others. Did you work your resin in thin layers? Art resin is not designed to be used in layers thicker than 1/8 inch as bubbles won’t able to rise and degass. Also your alcohol ink most likely didn’t spread because you applied too much heat to the resin with a heat gun, causing it to decrease the pot life. The resin pbb got too thick by the time you dropped in the ink. There is a learning curve when using resin so don’t give up. My first pour was a disaster but you learn and hone your skills with mistakes. Good luck
@@AmyMade thank you Amy... My resin got very bubbly after I finish Stiring.. Will try to do it a bit slower. I was trying to do some letters maybe didn't pour enough resin... Thank you for taking the time to reply to me...much more appreciated. Will keep trying. Stay safe
@@AmyMade it's me... Again... Would like to ask you, what viscosity is the best for projects like jewelery and coasters. Thanks again for your recommendations and replies. Take care ans stay safe.
Viviana Quintero it really depends on what you’re trying to achieve. For casting in molds, it’s better to use thinner resins so the resin can get into all the details of the mold. For coating or doming, you want to use a thicker viscosity resin so it holds its surface tension. This is why I use two different types of resin. If you have further question, it may be better to get in touch with me in IG or by email (listed on under my channel info) so I can be notified. UA-cam doesn’t notify me when I get comments sometimes
I use 2 part epoxy resin. Yellowing is normal for epoxy resin. It happens overtime and can be sped up with uv light and heat exposure. Some brands put additives to slow down the process but it will still yellow eventually
can you tell I like cats?

Naty Ro hello! Thank you for your comment. As far as “food grade” it just means it is approved by the FDA as safe for food contact.
I just adore the kitty graphics!
i really love how informative your video is.. thank you..
Thank you for your awesome guide! You are very easy to understand and provide lots of information!

This is fantastic! I've been working with resin for over 6 years but this was a great refresher. I learned some new things as well.
Yes! I remember you! You move to Korea if I remember correctly
Very informative, thank you very much.........and your furry lil feline helpers were a delight!
Nice vid, very intersting and specific. Thnx for explanation!
Hello, what 3m respirator cartridges would you suggest to use with 2 part epoxy boat paint.

Thank you so much for this video, it was so helpful! And the cat pics were hilarious! 😂🐾
Can i use glass instead of plastic cups for stirring?
Sure as long as you clean the resin off before it cures. Or else it will ruin your glass cup.
hey do you think you could mention in another video how to clean sparkles of your silicone. matt its so hard for me to get it off thank you :)
Wash with soap and water! You can also use tape
The cats!!!! 😂❤😂❤

In that siutation where you had your resin melting the cup, what did you do to handle it?
WanderlustXO I just left it and let it do its thing until it wasn’t smoking anymore and until it was completely cured, which happened in minutes.
Thank you! I already have a basic understanding of Resin, but I noticed throughout your videos, I make such baby mistakes that effect my creations.
English is my second language and I’m so glad that you wrote while you where talking. Thank you!

I loved your video! One quick question, what resin would you recommend for making coasters?
Ummm that’s hard to answer. I would say any brands that is durable and has a high heat resistance. Fauxrizzle resin for example.

Not coated sorry typo. I meant I have a couple of coaster molds.
For tumbler allumilite will work just fine
Can I use a UV light machine to cure this resin? Thank you! :)
only if it's UV resin. This video is about 2 part resin or AB resin as some would call.
Yes
Do you have a video on uv resin
Nope I dont
