That's a nice touch 👍 I used to outfits to immerse me in the game too; gradually adding more expensive items as the gang grew (and a suit for Aisha's funeral). Next time I play SR2, I think I might use your Carlos Chain idea 👍
@@joshuastedford1670 I've been looking for an excuse to play SR2 but with a different play style so I don't have to repeat myself for the 20th time. Changing my outfits, tattoos, and overall style can be fun.
@@ahighferret true 👍 Funny you mention this, I actually started another SR2 playthrough three days ago, and my character looks exactly the same as the last five times 😂 For whatever reason, I tell myself I'm going to change style, and always revert to my instinctive preset 😄 Though this time, I'm completing all the activities - I usually rush through 'em to unlock missions as fast as possible
The Ronin do still exist but the saints never cared about the Ronin as a whole. They wanted Stillwater and they wiped out the Ronin that occupied it aswell as having their revenge on the key members.
I love how personal the Boss got with all members of the Brotherhood: Forcing Donnie to betray them as revenge for Lin, getting Maero to inadvertently kill his own girlfriend and not just killing, but crippling Matt so he can't tattoo Maero or play for the Feed Dogs ever again. Really brutal stuff.
@@jaredthompson553 it went soft so hard.. afraid taking 2 Syndicate member,Cannot Beat 2 Zinyak trooper 😂😂 since he was focused to confront Keith.. In SR2 we focused on the scene boss doing some brutal things.. while in 3 and 4 boss always got Companies while in the 2 series boss its just better Villain in this game.. while the 3 member gangs are just protagonist who coward and afraid taking down the Saints leader.. after Heard who's the boss story back then.
I'll give the golden chainsaw (most brutal death) to the brotherhood, getting stuck in a car only to have been smushed on a monster truck is quite brutal.
@@marshallthefirepup5795 some rumours talk about a time machine...would be sick if the game were about gangs again! And we could change the events to rethink our decisions
@@willyc.8141 Nah, it has to be with in the end of “Get out of hell”. One of the endings of the story is if you’ll like to go back in time, maybe God just gives Gat a time machine or just brings him back in time. Either way can’t wait for it
@@alix758 It truely was though, but it was all Gat basically because as the Boss is completely hands off while Gat beats the everlasting shit out of Shogo and only helps to bury him alive, i mean hell the Boss has their back turned and watches from over their shoulder
Call me sadistic, but I love when an enemy begs, pleas, and even screams in pure agony. This was *thee* one! After everything the Ronin done, they got theirs in satisfying ways. One could argue the Saints started it, but Shogo liked going around slicing innocent people up just for fun on his bike.
The brotherhood had great conflict with the saints as you pointed out. They kill Carlos we make their leader kill his own girlfriend without knowing. Plus the fact he tried to make a deal with the saints by meeting them alone. That on his part was a brave move but if he wasn't too greedy with the numbers he probably could have been able to make a deal work.
@Kristopher Prime Eh, he had no reason to make it 50-50 from his perspective. Saints were rebuilding. Gat was the only one with a rep and he is just one guy. 20/80 was insulting, but 50/50 was far too generous.
To me the gangs from SR2 were the best. Each of them had distinct style, memorable and charismatic leaders as well as some of the best moments in all of the series. Well, maybe Sons of Samedi sucked a bit but only due to being outshined by the impact of Ronins and Brotherhood on Saints.
Mr sunshine was Absolutely Scary Maero looked like a complete Monster Kazuo was an absolute scumbag Shogo Was ok. But he just needed a bit to know how to lead And the General was just there.
I have to say that the Saints at the end of SR1 have THE BEST DRIP in the franchise. Look at the SR1 good ending, in the church they had purple and pink scarfs and bandanas and gold chains and white shell toed adidas on. It really captured that mid 2000s dress style vibe. Also on a deeper level I feel they become bigger versions of the Vice Kings. And one thing that I believe helped the Saints prevail through the first 2 games is their Strength in Numbers philosophy. Notice the VKs mostly had black and white dudes and gals, Carnales had mostly Hispanic and a bit white, Rollerz had mostly white and Asian and the Saints had all racial and ethnic demographics. And most originated from the Row. I also find it interesting the King stated “it’s a shame Julius got to you first” knowing he’d gladly choose a disciple for the Kings who actually listens and knows when to be quiet, unlike Warren. Makes me wonder about the storyline if the VK member had recruited you instead of trying to kill you in the intro cutscene shootout.
Actually the rollers where more Italian whites and asians and the carnales where Hispanic mostly but the white dudes you speak of where the Columbians which are white Hispanics but the carnales are mostly mestizo but yeah also in the brotherhood there are all ethnicities in the gang so idk I guess in the second one the gangs became more diverse except the ronin which was mostly asians and maybe whites cause I swear some of them looked Caucasian but maybe they dyed their hair lmao also all civilians are randomized character creations btw
The Vice Kings without Warren and that Tanya would probably be the most moral gang in Saints Row history. They didn’t push drugs, yeah they had some Criminal money schemes but King was trying to get them to go straight, King’s Grocery and Kingdom Come records. Both being completely legitimate businesses.
@@stealthSGMB Ben King was really the only moral gang leader besides I guess Matt Miller from 3 to a lesser extent but he changed. Problem was a lot of Vice Kings were going against king by kidnapping people and trying to get on the drug trade. There’s also that thing about using people as commodities with all the coerced prostitution. Arguably the Saints are worse morally in SR1 (definitely in SR2), while Julius did want to get rid of the Saints he also went on a criminal adventure of countless things that destroyed lives and none of it worked out because gangs just showed back up.
@@Jade0603 To be fair we don’t know if King knew about the coerced stuff, I still believe Warren and Tanya did a lot of stuff behind Kings back and that if King found out about their traitorous activities he’d have gotten rid of them sooner
Sadly enough, if they simply made a better deal, 60-40, 50-50, the saints and brotherhood could potentially have become merged, a rough start, but eventually one or the other would take the reigns.
I personally like Matt Miller's character going from Leader of the Deckers to MI6 to joining the Saints in SR4 really shows that Matt Miller is actually a good guy at heart
@@willbaker6532 If 3 of them is business runners. So Los Carnales and Sons of Samedi are drug dealers, Rollerz are street racers, Deckers are hackers, Luchadores wrestlers and Brotherhood is tattoo truck guys. Which is more street gang in your opinion?
Saints Row 2 was the absolute gem of the series. The theme music brings back a ton of damn good memories. My favorite gang when I was younger was the Ronin, primarily because they had katanas and badass outfits, but also because of the terrifying ending of how Gat and the player deal with the Ronin's leader. As for the other two gangs, the Brotherhood was pretty cool and I can't even remember thr name of the green gang even after seeing their name in this video. Still, the green gang had a cool climax mission. *Also-* I could never find out how to duel wield katanas like that one dude who you eventually battle. It pissed me off and I still don't know if you can. It's been so long that I may have done it at the time, I just can't remember. EDIT- This comment is already really long, but I forgot to add while thinking about it that looking back on it now, the Ronin had a hell of a storyline as well. I'm not done with the video, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are #1. EDIT 2- I had a suspicion that The Brotherhood would be #1.
I know! Saints row 2 was definitely the star of the show, my favorite gang is also the ronin but I like the fighting style of the brotherhood. Plus the menu on the game is 🔥🔥
the "gang" missions in saints row 3 are so unmemorable, i cant even remember the majority of the game after playing it several times when it was released
I felt the opposite tbh I like sr3 a lot when it came to sr4 it was weird but I vibed with it although I really hope they give it the vibe of Yakuza a good combination of wacky but serious crime story
I imagine it'd be another Julius and Ben King story where they break apart and end up being rivals, it'd be cool to see because they'd be unstoppable. Like imagine if it carried over into sr3, Maero vs Killbane😂😂
I never looked at it all this way! But I need to make my own personal list. 9) Westside Rollerz. Besides the death of Lin, which remains memorable to me because Zombie Lin is canon, they're just a bunch of wannabe gangsters whose leader is dumb muscle -- literally. And he's a coward for acting like he wanted to fight The Boss, but just runs in a truck while throwing pipe bombs. Oh, and my theory as to the mysterious overseas deal they were going to make: The Syndicate. Maybe they weren't as big during this time, or were just looking for other gangs to add to their organization, I don't know. Sharp and Loren would've probably been good friends, though. Interestingly, Sharp drives a Justice, and a Justice is a gang car of the Morningstar. Without Sharp, eh, this gang isn't much, territory, muscle, and otherwise. 8) Deckers. I personally didn't find their missions all that fun, but Kinzie and Matt's rivalry is very entertaining, the funniest instance when the Deckers embarrass STAG by overpowering them at their own PR center, and they're arguing over intercom during the fight. They would've been higher on my list if the Saints didn't have the mind of Kinzie. She's the equalizer that makes it more of a breeze. The specialists are an exceptional challenge, and I love throwing Fart in a Jar at them and and shooting them down while they're vomiting. It creates a hilarious outcome. 7) Luchadores. They made the game feel like some sort of Batman game, and Steelport feel like Gotham, though it's kind of already comparable to Gotham due to its atmosphere and crime. I love Killbane's affinity for Ancient Greece, notable in his dialogue and how the specialists dress. They are fun to mingle with, and their storyline equally so, despite their placement on my list. 6) Morningstar. I'm gonna be honest, I feel like they've existed since the first game, as mentioned with my theory of the Rollerz possibly making a deal with them. I also think the Brotherhood were dealing with them in their Wardill stronghold, as Shaundi mentions some "scary Eurotrash dudes" they were dealing with, which involved "serious money", her exact words. The Morningstar are not only large, but also known for their greed. Every time I do this stronghold, I search for evidence to confirm the theory, but don't come up with much, as the guys in suits outside the hangar aren't donning the gang's colors, and their vehicles' colors being randomized. They made the game feel like a classic action movie, but with elements you'd see in one of Batman's enemy factions, like the cloning of Oleg. 5) Ronin. Hard to say their story isn't memorable, because it is. Aisha's actual death, and the fact they're divided, which led to their fall. As I always say, Shogo knew how to run it as an American gang, while his father wanted it to be traditional. This is where his father goofed in trying to go against the Saints; the Saints lack the honor of a more organized faction, notably when The Boss shoots Kazuo after the katana duel. After Aisha's death and Johnny being injured, there was no way they could've escaped the wrath of the Saints. Shogo's death can't go unmentioned either; I like dressing my Boss in a suit and black flasher/trench coat and fedora in this mission to make it all the more gritty. Coupled with Johnny's pinstripe suit, it definitely feels like the Saints are a Mafia at this point. But that's just me. 4) Sons of Samedi. Also my favorite Saints Row 2 gang! I'm gonna be a hypocrite here and say it's like the Ballas versus Families, due to their colors, of course. What's interesting is that the Saints were originally green, so imagine a crazy reality where the Sons' and Saints' colors were swapped. Anyway, they have the most fun missions and strongholds, and it's never a dull moment. I even like dressing my Boss as Scarface during Bad Trip, because to me, it's very Scarface-like. Through them, magic is also confirmed to exist in this series, the best example being Mr. Sunshine's voodoo doll. And need I really mention how much I love Shaundi? And don't most of us miss when she was like this. She and Boss switched personalities between the second and third game. Partly Johnny's death, but partly... she was kind of always a certain way. But it's a discussion for another time. 3) Vice Kings. They were around for 30-some years. Although it's not exactly surprising they're as fierce and territorial as any other Saints Row gang, there's just a lot of reasons why I'm ranking them so high. Their style, their story, their main members... all of it just stands out and left a huge impact, not just on me, but Cyrus says they were mentioned when coining STAG. Looking back, I can see why STAG was created, and their presence isn't that strange to me; the Vice Kings were fierce on a whole other level, in addition to Ben King and Julius having history. I can only imagine what a prequel would be like, one set in the '70s when they were new and taking on the Carnales. And I love gawking at their worn-out tags in Saints Row 2, a reminder of their legacy. And gotta love that scene when they all turn on Ben King. When I first played the game, I was shocked. Ben was a true leader and ran the gang kind of like a mob, believing -- knowing, actually -- that true power came from being tight with the police and politicians. Many members didn't like Tanya taking power, which I heard a VK gang girl say in-game. Ben was also left alive, so that was all the more memorable. 2) Carnales. Older than the Vice Kings, and as Julius said, "there's a reason they're still around", as well as being the first organized gang in Stilwater. Their brutality in the past is the subject of many stories, one that sticks out being the brothers' father. Manuel says that he was no-bullshit, and given Hector's defensiveness, my guess? He was a very bad man, possibly worse than anything we've seen on-screen, and that's saying something. Everything about them sticks out to me -- their style, their tactics, their brute force, and their enforcer Victor. Victor has superhuman durability, more or less confirmed, as he survived his Bulldog explosion with everything intact, notably shocking Julius. And who'll forget that sick, yet hilarious, scene of Troy lighting a cigarette over his burning corpse. I've ranked them so high because of how brutal and territorial they are, making it a very common habit to carry RPGs. I find their missions and strongholds to be stressful for that reason alone. 1) Brotherhood. They basically splintered from the Carnales, and the proof is solid. They occupy the same territory, Victor and Maero were friends, many Carnales were said to have joined up with the Brotherhood, 'Carnales' means 'brothers', and there's a noticeable cross in the center of the Brotherhood's emblem. I even think that Maero wanted to screw the Saints because they were responsible for Victor's death at a time when they were more of a small-time gang. These facts, their style, and their story are why they win top spot for me. Because I view the Carnales so dangerous, what intrigues me more is that the Brotherhood are basically Carnales 2.0, so any surviving Carnales members that joined the Brotherhood are particularly out for the Saints, explaining why they're so brutal. As Pierce says, what they lack in organization and tactics, they make up for with rage, respect for one another, and brute strength. Maero also seems to display sociopathic tendencies; peds are always telling me "Maero's a really great guy once you get to know him", and to be frank, this is true. Like I said, I think he's only bitter at the Saints over Victor's death, but this and his greed was where he messed up. Carlos' disturbing death made it feel personal too. Oh, and The Ho Boat in Saints Row 3 has the exact same energy as the Brotherhood mission The Enemy of My Enemy, so this is a reminder of their legacy. As if this wasn't enough of an essay, I need to make some honorable mentions of side gangs. The pimps in Stilwater in Saints Row 2 are a gang despite not occupying territory. They're in a never-ending battle with the Saints, and attack in very large numbers. I find it frustrating there aren't bonus strongholds to get rid of them, but then again, there'd be nothing fun to do if I couldn't beat the shit out of them during the after hours when they appear. In Saints Row 3, there exists a biker gang and a gang of mascots, though only accessed through survival challenges. The bikers challenge The Boss, and someone calls them about the mascots taking advantage of a sale at Let's Pretend. So make that 12 gangs in the series that you deal with on-screen.
Where'd you find out that bit of victor & maero knowing eachother? Some dialogue in the missions ive overlooked all these years, or something you had to go outta your way to find?
@@Gameking92888maero should’ve said 50/50 so he could betray and kill them at the end, instead of stupidly saying 20/80 knowing the leader wouldn’t want that and would just pick a fight with the brotherhood instead

Before I watch the video, I wanna say, the Vice Kings and the Ronin are my favorite gangs. I don't consider the "gangs" from SR3 to be actual gangs, and I also just don't like them.
the "gangs" in saints row 3 while having different aesthetics had the big downside of all being a part of one big organisation. The games were more interesting with 4 separate gangs (including the saints) fighting for power instead of saints vs big crime organisation
Shadow Wolf Gaming some of them are realistic gangs and some of them are just straight up nonsense they all have there own themes Los carnales-latino street gang/drug cartels Vice kings-black street gangs Westside rollerz-rich kids from the suburbs The brotherhood-people who overabuse tattoos and motorcycle clubs Ronin-yakuza Sons of sademi-raggae weed smokers Deckers-cybercrime groups Luchadores-uhhh WWE (this gang is some stupid ass shit) (also the only gang with no female members) Morningstar-Italian mafia (even though I think the leader is french) Saints row 2 has the best gangs and 3 has the worst imo Another thing is that every gang is multiracial which is uncommon for gangs irl as race and ethnicity is pretty important for gangs
@@mariojudahsdad7333 aside from the wrestling masks, the Luchadores had a major mercenary theme going on mixed with Hispanic gangs. How? Well, the way they were dressed was a giveaway because they all rocked military fatigues. The specialist even had an ammo vest. As for Hispanic gangs, some of them talked like vatos and such. So in my opinion, they weren't completely like wrestlers.
That intro was so cool it gave me goosebumps lol! Awesome vid, I hope to see more content soon, especially if it's Saints Row related! Keep up the great work :)
Watching this again, and holy shit Ben King in Saints Row 4 pretty much summed up Maero's death in the best way possible. "The Saints didn't kill you, your greed did."
I'd just like to thank everyone for all the nice comments. I appreciate the love. Hopefully, I can find more Saints Row stuff to talk about. Thinking of ranking the Saints in the future.
I'd just like to say, I'm sure Johnny Gat could get number 1 for that list, and that's because of how much stuff he has been through and how his character develops ( even though he was absent in SR3 )
I love your rankings🥰 and I love the fact u are a girl🥰.. you rarely fine females that play video games... I don't know if I would have had the Brotherhood at number one🤔🤔 I think maybe Morningstar.. the Deckers also pissed me off especially the females with those flash type roller skates🏃♀️ they had on😫 they were very hard to kill😡😠🤬 I like that you could incorporate fighting styles like the ronni and also use their weapons as your own. I know dane Vogel wasn't in a gang or a gang member but Jesus he has his own private security force👮♂️👮♀️🕵♂️ that was pretty damn gangster.. he should have had a honorable mention🤣😂🤣 and I'm probably one of the few people that actually likes Saints Row 4🤗 yes I know it went over the hill and threw boss in The Matrix to fight aliens but still the superpowers were pretty dope😎

I don't get what people liked about the Deckers literally the worst "gang" i've seen in any video game in my life. I don't even consider them a gang tbh
Very well done. Only major differences for me is that I would have rated Los Carnales higher since it is one of the few gangs with a real backstory, and I would have placed Kings above Ronin.
I kind of felt like the Vice Kings were meant to be the only enemy gang in Saint's Row, but plans changed somewhere and they threw in the other two for some reason. The VK are the ones with all the big story events, the ones with history with the Saints (Julius in particular), and the ones whose end feels the most meaningful. I played SR1 over a decade ago and the only missions I remember from the Rollerz and Carnales were the one where you chase down and kill the old guy right after he kills Lin, the one where you chase down and kill Price at the end of the Rollerz storyline, and the one where you blow up the plane at the end of the Carnales storyline.
I can see that instead of fighting 3 different gangs, you battle VK lieutenants instead and go about screwing over their operations to weaken the entire game.
I just recently experienced all Saints Row games (well except for the first one). I got Saints Row 2 for free a few years ago but didn`t bother to even try it and a month ago I accidentally played it. Week later I realised I`ve just finished Saints Row 4. Games are just awesome. The way they make you feel like a BOSS is utterly incredible. And customization is always there to help you create a any character you can only imagine. I wish there was another game in the series I could play. Or maybe a simple device to wipe my memories in order to replay those masterpieces
I really did feel more threat from the Saint Row 2 gangs than from the others in future installments. The Brotherhood was a good choice for the number 1 spot since we've had the most back and forth in retaliation and personal vengeance.
Also I agree. The Brotherhood and The Vice Kings are the most deadliest gangs in all of the series because they knew from the start NOT to underestimate the Saints.
I respect this list. The Vice Kings we always be the best gang in my opinion. King was such an appropriate name because many kings have fallen to the under bosses. Heavy is the head that wears the crown
Deckers are by far the worst in the entire series one of the worst "gang" tbh in any game Good thing the mourning star were there tho cause I actually really liked them.
I hope the new saints row will be more like 1 and 2 in almost every way possible but improved. Basically saints 2 but MORE. I want to see a more realistic story setting like 1 and 2. No aliens. I want Gang warfare and gang customization.
This is such a strong video 👍 I think all your ratings and favourite scenes were well chosen, and your analysis was pretty damn good 👍 I'd have to agree that The Brotherhood was the best gang out of the nine - the storyline felt more personal to The Boss than any other. I would have put The Rollers higher up though. I preferred that story to The Deckers - I felt nothing emotional taking the Deckers down, but I legit wanted blood after Lin's death - I hunted Mr Price like an absolute madman to avenge her 😂
Saints row 2 is by the far the best of the series. I’m honestly surprised the Ronin didn’t hit number 1 due to their story arcs and impact compared to the brotherhood, Carlos was an L but it happened so soon in the arc that it didn’t create as big of a hit as aisha’s.
Thats a fair enough statement. For a lot (myself included cause I'm softie) Carlos' death was heartbreaking because he was young in experience compared to everyone else.
@@HexleysCauldron I’m not saying his death doesn’t hit or anything it’s definitely the defining moment where you realize not everyone makes it and really drives the force of the story. But going back and replaying it the other day I realized just how soon it occurred and how there’s was only 3-4 missions with him involved
My number one favorite are the Vice Kings. Ben King felt like a true gang leader. And the Ronin are my second favorite mainly because of Jyuninichi, Shogo characters and missions. But I still love the Brotherhood entire arc. RIP Carlos.
The Brotherhood was my favourite gang to fight, I always saved them for last. While I preferred the Ronin’s style with their swords and fast machines, the Brotherhood just had that more of impact to me. Maero seemed more intimidating than any of the other bosses or enforcers, the better weapons of the gang and their tougher cars, the brutality of the war between them an the Saints…so much fun.
When saints row 4 brought out the aliens, I just labeled each enemy gangs as factions from that point on. (I know gangs and factions are the same thing, but when you mention it as saints row in a whole and not just specific titles, it would make sense for the newer fans and stuff.)
saints row 2 is the best in my opinion with a nice balance between wacky and dark the gangs are great maps fun and story is nice i realy deserved the remaster over 3
I've always felt the Saints row 3 gangs were in the wrong order. While personally I'd make the Luchadors something more than just masked wrester gangs, I always felt like you should have to do a bunch of syndicate missions before you even end up going against one of the big 3. It shouldn't be a case of defeat the Morning Star then clean up, they should've been the end goal. From there, we have Matt fall first, but as he's a kid, he's spared. Like even though the boss is super pissed, they see this kids facade break the moment things become too real. From there it's the Luchadors, and while Killbane is fun, as you've said, they're not really memorable. I'd even add that the Luchador you do get, Angel De La Muerte, isn't too memorable himself. Remove the fact that Hulk Hogan voices him, and what is memorable? He's Killbanes rival and that's about it. No, I'd suggest things get mixed up, but still, they're the gang you face second and you do kill Killbane. As for the MorningStar, while you could have the Dewynter sisters storyline play out the same, I'd have a boss fight against them first, but they get away. Killbane kills one, the other switches and they see that Phillipe really doesn't care much about them, now that they've failed. So you do missions for them before you kill Killbane, and that's when the MorningStar missions really kick off, despite you already having done some already. Just an idea though
I think your ranking is pretty spot on, though i feel like you saying "the rollerz were in a transition period like the carnales" isnt entirely accurate, the rollerz were the newest gang on the scene, the "deal" was more about them trying to build themselves up, unlike the carnales, who had established themselves long before and are just trying to keep their power, in terms of personal favorites, i think the gangs of SRTT were the weakest of all the games, morning star was my least favorite, luchadores were in the middle, and deckers, while still not a favorite, are the best that particular game had to offer, my favorite of them all was the vice kings, they seemed the most grounded and their story was just a blast to play through, followed by the ronin
Loved this video! I agree with a lot of your points. The Carlos death broke my heart too.. Big slap in the face when Maero escaped during the big raid of their HQ before the final battle. I thought his death actually hit harder for me than Aisha's because I began at Saints Row 2. He was literally the first saint I met when I began this series.
The Los Carnales are actually the toughest gang in sr1 they were fighting the vice kings and the saints, then after the boss assinates Hector they start warring with the Colombians. So near the end they’re fighting the most powerful factions
I really wish Kiki and Viola DeWinter had their own gang and didn’t just exist to be plot tools. Like Kiki was just there to die/show how crazy Killbane was and Viola was just there to get captured. It’s kinda bullshit.
From what I have read in some drafts of the script, it seemed that both twins were supposed to defect to the Saints. In some ways, it does make sense for Kiki to get killed off so that Viola has a reason for revenge, but I didn't like the way she was killed off. Plus, we didn't really know much about that character.
Love saints row and I pretty much agree with your whole list. Especially number 1. The brotherhood always felt like the strongest in sr2 which I think is the best one.
Saints 1s gangs were amazing. Ronin were amazing. I'm rethinking my distaste of those tattoo guys after this vid so they're kl too. Every other gang was garbage. Just too wacky. I hope they restart this series and make it grounded. No more wizards, cyber missions, aliens and demons. Keep those things for unlockable weapons or something
Maero's offer of 20 percent was actually quite generous, seeing as how the Saints were basically washed-up nobodies. Also, I have to give him props for having the courtesy to meet with the Boss in a public place and without his goons. The Boss didn't get that courtesy from the Ronin or the Sons of Samedi. My favorite gang in the whole series are the Deckers, followed by the Sons of Samedi, then the Westside Rollerz. I like the Deckers' cybergoth aesthetic (despite not being a cybergoth myself), the Sons of Samedi storyline, and the Westside Rollerz "pretty boy tuner" style.
But if you completed the Ronin and Samedi storylines before doing the Brotherhood then how much sense would it have made? And besides, the Saints took out the three previous gangs and owned Stilwater, Maero could've at least offered 60/40 at the bare minimum
@@PharaohTerrellGaming Thing is the gangs lack continuity so the context of the deal is completely dependant on your activity within the other gangs. However, I think the Brotherhood was intended to be the first gang you interact with, given the dialogue and the logic behind the deal itself.
@@PharaohTerrellGaming And also the Saints history is completely irrelevant, from a business standpoint the deal is extremely generous and even gives the Saints an opportunity to "dethrone" or at least integrate themselves within the Brotherhood. Maero offered them an opportunity that could've led to the benefit of both gangs, or just the Saints given how the boss is, but the boss being as egotistical and arrogant as they are took offense, and went the route of destroying the Brotherhood despite there being a better way to do it, and despite this gruesome, and damaging course of action being completely unnecessary.
My favorite gang will always be the ronin I loved their design and fighting style plus i always shot at them for hours and we will never forget how they loved hitting u with cars every chance they got
Every gang in SR2 would hit you with cars like maniacs lol The worst were the Sons of samedi in the mall mission when you kill the General. God I hate that part sometimes lol
I love the Morningstar cause of the impact they had on the Saints, That from trying to make an unfair deal with the Saints, to seemingly "killing" Johnny, or at least it seemed they did until SR4 revealed what really happened, to this incident being the catalyst that makes the Boss order the rest of the Saints to take over Steelport. Thus this incident leads into the rest of SR3's events causing the downfall of the Syndicate and it's 3 member gangs. Plus I love how sexy the Morningtar chicks are.
Saints Row 3 SHOULD have the best gangs. A cyber gang, a wrestling gang & an arms dealing gang all working in tandem? Holy hell! But because of the way SR3 plays out, we crumple them immediately & own the city whilst the story is trying to say we don't.
This is the list of my favorite gangs least favorite to favorite 9.) The Deckers 8.) The morning star 7.) The Ronin 6.) The sons of samdi 5.) Los carnales 4.) Vice kings 3.) Rollerz 2.) Luchadores 1.) The brotherhood
I preferred the Ronin gang out of all gangs in the franchise Because the female Ronin soldier is the sexiest, not the tattoo black jacket ones, the yellow jacket ones The bob haircut, the leather jacket, gives off the sexy Japanese tomboy look, especially when she wears the tracksuit pants I honestly prefer them over other female gang members in other gangs, she's underrated af And I named one of them Suki
I loved the Luchadores aesthetic. But man after replaying SR3 they feel underdeveloped. Like, in the other gangs I can always kinda feel out what their market is. Samedi run drugs, Ronin illegal gambling, Brotherhood run weapons, Deckers cybercrime, and Morningstar prostitution. But I can't really figure out what the Luchadores really do, businesswise. Maybe they do illegal gambling like the Ronin, but it kinda seems like gambling in Steelport is... legal... so I'm not sure what their criminal enterprise is. Whereas with the Ronin you had an illegal casino hidden within a rec center, the Luchador casino seems to be operating quite out in the open.
Just beat Saints Row 1. Might as well do a personal list because seems like everyone else is having fun. 9. Deckers 8. Luchadores 7. The Morningstar 6. Rollerz 5. Los Carnales 4. The Ronin 3. Sons of Samedi 2. Vice Kings 1. The Brotherhood
honestly in saints row 2 when I think about which is my favorite (which is the ronin) I would rank them as my favorite from their preferred radio station type of areas you'd see them in and the other stuff you said
In my opinion the best saint row was saint row 2. It had this unique gang theme that you don’t find in any other games even gta. Saint Row 2 really captures what a gang Video game is supposed to be. Saints Row the third was like a more modern version with better graphics and gameplay but SR 2 just had soo many good attributes.
SR2 is the best in the franchise. Gritty, but still humorous. I've put in more time in SR2 than the others. I love saints Row, and I hope the new reboot is alright.
Even if their missions leading up to the finale were kinda forgettable, that LC's final act was anything but. Between Dex driving like an asshole and a million dudes firing rocket launchers at us, it probably took me close to a dozen tries to finally beat it. Didn't help that their crib was a million miles away from anything to do with the rest of the game, sufficed to say that I was glad to put them in my rearview.
Solid Break Down. I immediately knew the Brotherhood would top out at #1. I can agree. It had the thickest plot, and there boss was physically involved the most. I was curious one day. So, i activated the cheat code at the end when facing off against Maero on the rooftop, to make myself larger then him, and jump higher to reach where he stands. I'll wait until his mini gun runs out of ammo of course, and approach him to see his reaction. Then just start fighting hand to hand, no weapon's. I learned that he will actually fight you. I also found out that regardless to however giant as my avatar is, Maero is programmed to not be able to be picked up. So the code to make you huge doesn't make you stronger. It's just for aesthetics. It's ridiculous to see him manhandle my guy lol. But it's possible to brawl, and take the W in that sense if you're interested. Careful, he can easily kill you with his brute strength. I would love to see him and bane go at it 1 on 1, hand to hand. No weapon's. I wonder who would win that match up.
After Carlos’s death my boss wore a copy his chain the rest of the game
That's a nice touch 👍 I used to outfits to immerse me in the game too; gradually adding more expensive items as the gang grew (and a suit for Aisha's funeral). Next time I play SR2, I think I might use your Carlos Chain idea 👍
Rip carlo's so cruel
I themed my boss's tattoos to catalogue progression though the game, including one to commemorate Carlos.
It’s interesting that the Ronin are technically still around as only the American branch was taken out
That's...a good point, actually
The Ronin do still exist but the saints never cared about the Ronin as a whole. They wanted Stillwater and they wiped out the Ronin that occupied it aswell as having their revenge on the key members.
I know just thought it was an interesting thing that they weren’t completely wiped out like all other gangs
they also took out the international leader Kazuo Akuji
@Manny I thought the Ronin were Japanese. Isn't Gat Korean?

too funny
I love that scene
The revenge kills in 2 are fucking brutal and are absolutely the stuff of great crime drama that even GTA needed to learn from
I love how personal the Boss got with all members of the Brotherhood: Forcing Donnie to betray them as revenge for Lin, getting Maero to inadvertently kill his own girlfriend and not just killing, but crippling Matt so he can't tattoo Maero or play for the Feed Dogs ever again. Really brutal stuff.
@@PlaystationSimmer the boss was a killer in 2 and so badass. It’s dope. The Boss went soft in 3 and 4 a bit.
@@jaredthompson553 it went soft so hard.. afraid taking 2 Syndicate member,Cannot Beat 2 Zinyak trooper 😂😂 since he was focused to confront Keith..

I'll give the golden chainsaw (most brutal death) to the brotherhood, getting stuck in a car only to have been smushed on a monster truck is quite brutal.
This fuels my opinion as making saints 2 my personal favorite
Carlos death was a hard thing to see still today.
I feel ya, bro. Carlos was awesome 😢
I miss Carlos still today
Carlos was the man. He helps you escape from jail in the 2nd. Can we get at least a cameo in the next game? If there will be a 5th.

@@alix758 yes it is absolutely one of my fav gat moments
@@alix758 It truely was though, but it was all Gat basically because as the Boss is completely hands off while Gat beats the everlasting shit out of Shogo and only helps to bury him alive, i mean hell the Boss has their back turned and watches from over their shoulder
Call me sadistic, but I love when an enemy begs, pleas, and even screams in pure agony. This was *thee* one! After everything the Ronin done, they got theirs in satisfying ways. One could argue the Saints started it, but Shogo liked going around slicing innocent people up just for fun on his bike.
FAX NO PRINTER
Pierce Washington saying "These hoes ain't hoes!", is still one of my favorite lines in a video game.
@Kristopher Prime yeah if he made a fair deal it probably would have worked out for them
@Kristopher Prime Eh, he had no reason to make it 50-50 from his perspective. Saints were rebuilding. Gat was the only one with a rep and he is just one guy. 20/80 was insulting, but 50/50 was far too generous.
True. Maero was a POS.
@@Hillthugsta I would've done 35/65 with a clause to make it 50/50 if certain conditions are met.
40-60.
After all, the Brotherhood probably does most of the work.
I don't know. Mr. Sunshine was one scary dude!
Sons of samedi had that crazy laugh. They were actually scary😂
Mr sunshine was Absolutely Scary
Maero looked like a complete Monster
Kazuo was an absolute scumbag
Shogo Was ok. But he just needed a bit to know how to lead
And the General was just there.
Total bullshit, that cutscene in "bad trip" is the best in the whole game
Samedis are best for me
The Samedi are my favourites simply because Mr. Sunshine is a brilliant villain, and completely terrifying
The ending cutscene for Eternal Sunshine alone makes Sunshine one of the best villains

Good point actually damn
The Vice Kings without Warren and that Tanya would probably be the most moral gang in Saints Row history. They didn’t push drugs, yeah they had some Criminal money schemes but King was trying to get them to go straight, King’s Grocery and Kingdom Come records. Both being completely legitimate businesses.
@@stealthSGMB
Ben King was really the only moral gang leader besides I guess Matt Miller from 3 to a lesser extent but he changed.
Thinking about it, they made the ridiculous activities to take off from how dark the plot is, some scenes like Jessica’s death are incredibly dark
They are very dark scenes and are terrifying especially the scene with Gat beating up Shogo. He was brutal.
Sadly enough, if they simply made a better deal, 60-40, 50-50, the saints and brotherhood could potentially have become merged, a rough start, but eventually one or the other would take the reigns.
No, SR 2 wasn't that dark
That one Ronin jumping backward off the couch and landing silently in a somersault has been in my mind for a decade
I agree with this 95%, I'd go with Brotherhood and Ronin swaped,I personally like the Ronin more, both are definitely amazing gangs.
That Ben King scene at the beginning, one of my favorite parts of Saints Row 1
RIP Michael Clarke Duncan
And a known fact, Donnie was in the first game as one of the Rollerz.
He quit the Rollerz after Lin was killed and got coerced into working for the Brotherhood by Maero's girlfriend Jessica.
I love that ".. a known fact.."
So what happend to him.did maero finished him or he quite again
I personally like Matt Miller's character going from Leader of the Deckers to MI6 to joining the Saints in SR4 really shows that Matt Miller is actually a good guy at heart

but saint row 1-3 the brotherhood is my all time favorite gang

We don’t care it’s the best selling one in the series and the best
Imagine if the brotherhood and Saints actually worked together
All Maero had to do was offer 50/50 but noooooo.

Before watching this the Ronin gotta be #1. The Death of Aisha and burying that guy alive in the cemetery was soo dark yet impactful.
Not to mention, the last two Brotherhood missions are nothing short of phenomenal. The introduction cutscene for Showdown really got me hyped up.
Great video! Love the gangs from Saints Row 1 and 2 (especially SR2), they're so much more memorable than the rest.
I really did feel more threat from the Saint Row 2 gangs than from the others in future installments. The Brotherhood was a good choice for the number 1 spot since we've had the most back and forth in retaliation and personal vengeance.
I feel like the king's 👑 were the best rivals but can't argue with this line up! Much love homie
I honestly love the VK's, Ronin and the Deckers. Probably my fav gangs from the 3 games
Deckers are by far the worst in the entire series
one of the worst "gang" tbh in any game
Good thing the mourning star were there tho cause I actually really liked them.
Vice Kings are the best gang. I like the deckers too
My Top 3 Rival Gangs:
1. Vice Kings
2. Ronin
3. Rollerz
That's fucking falcon punch that Johnny did against Jyunichi that broke the headstone he was laying against is always super satisfying.
@Naanfa Idham oops lol
I hope the new saints row will be more like 1 and 2 in almost every way possible but improved. Basically saints 2 but MORE. I want to see a more realistic story setting like 1 and 2. No aliens. I want Gang warfare and gang customization.
That fire alarm battery sound though.
This is such a strong video 👍 I think all your ratings and favourite scenes were well chosen, and your analysis was pretty damn good 👍
I'd have to agree that The Brotherhood was the best gang out of the nine - the storyline felt more personal to The Boss than any other.
I would have put The Rollers higher up though. I preferred that story to The Deckers - I felt nothing emotional taking the Deckers down, but I legit wanted blood after Lin's death - I hunted Mr Price like an absolute madman to avenge her 😂
Westside Rollerz: Gang that is responsible for killing lin. number 7
Vice Kings: Responsible for breaking Gats leg. number 3
I mean.. rightio XD
because the vks are just better
That’s because Lin was doing a risky tactic, it’s obvious the VK’s are a lot more stronger than the rollerz
It looks like the youtube algorithm has blessed this one, hope to see more videos like this in the future
No he wasn’t lol
It's great, that this video is blowing up recently. We need more SR content in UA-cam.
Agree
My number one favorite are the Vice Kings. Ben King felt like a true gang leader. And the Ronin are my second favorite mainly because of Jyuninichi, Shogo characters and missions. But I still love the Brotherhood entire arc. RIP Carlos.
Not sure what was more entertaining. this vid as a whole or the "dont at me, at your mother" line. So boom... earned a sub.
that was a beautiful introduction 💯
Also I love the quote you used to introduce the ronin, my fav
The Brotherhood was my favourite gang to fight, I always saved them for last. While I preferred the Ronin’s style with their swords and fast machines, the Brotherhood just had that more of impact to me.
Maero seemed more intimidating than any of the other bosses or enforcers, the better weapons of the gang and their tougher cars, the brutality of the war between them an the Saints…so much fun.
honestly i 100% agree with your placements, good video btw!
Genuinely shocked that people love and remember this game as much as I do
When saints row 4 brought out the aliens, I just labeled each enemy gangs as factions from that point on.
(I know gangs and factions are the same thing, but when you mention it as saints row in a whole and not just specific titles, it would make sense for the newer fans and stuff.)
I loved the video. The Saints Row 2 gangs were really good.
saints row 2 is the best in my opinion with a nice balance between wacky and dark
the gangs are great maps fun and story is nice
i realy deserved the remaster over 3
Hexley’s Cauldron. Keep up the good work. Just discovered your channel and I’m liking the content.
"Oh shit! These hoes ain't hoes!" Is one of my favorite video game lines of all time
Loved this video!
Thank for helping understand the Saints Row world more 🙏. Hope to see more videos from you in the future.
love the ranking and the ronin and deckers are my favorite gangs.
The Los Carnales are actually the toughest gang in sr1 they were fighting the vice kings and the saints, then after the boss assinates Hector they start warring with the Colombians. So near the end they’re fighting the most powerful factions
They also sometimes skirmish with the Rollerz
I really wish Kiki and Viola DeWinter had their own gang and didn’t just exist to be plot tools. Like Kiki was just there to die/show how crazy Killbane was and Viola was just there to get captured. It’s kinda bullshit.
From what I have read in some drafts of the script, it seemed that both twins were supposed to defect to the Saints. In some ways, it does make sense for Kiki to get killed off so that Viola has a reason for revenge, but I didn't like the way she was killed off. Plus, we didn't really know much about that character.
“If he’s alive cut off his hands I doubt he’ll be late again if he’s dead we have a greater problem”-The general
Shogo is voiced by Sasuke, only reason why I liked the Ronin myself.
Great video, comes to show how SR2 had the best gangs
The Ronin storyline felt...almost cinematic. Jyunichi offs his own dude because he wanted to kill Gat himself. That's fucking badass
The deckers? Seriousoly? LOL literally the worst so called "gang" i've seen in any video game in my life
They ain't even a gang tbh
My favorite gang will always be the ronin I loved their design and fighting style plus i always shot at them for hours and we will never forget how they loved hitting u with cars every chance they got
My would either be the ronin or the vice kings
My faves are the Rollerz the Ronin And the Carnales and Brotherhood
Every gang in SR2 would hit you with cars like maniacs lol
The worst were the Sons of samedi in the mall mission when you kill the General.
100% Agree with this list. Ronin and Deckers are my favorite though.
Morningstar, Luchadores, & Deckers felt more like One Super Gang.
That's because they are: The Syndicate
It’s hard to find such quality saints row content, especially nowadays. Great vid, great channel!
They really need a bundled collection edition for this series. Just think how great it would be alongside SR5.
I've never played saints row 1 but. That cutscene alone with no context makes me wanna play that than the new reeboot
Saints Row 3 SHOULD have the best gangs. A cyber gang, a wrestling gang & an arms dealing gang all working in tandem? Holy hell!
But because of the way SR3 plays out, we crumple them immediately & own the city whilst the story is trying to say we don't.
This is the list of my favorite gangs least favorite to favorite
9.) The Deckers
8.) The morning star
7.) The Ronin
6.) The sons of samdi
5.) Los carnales
4.) Vice kings
3.) Rollerz
2.) Luchadores
1.) The brotherhood
I preferred the Ronin gang out of all gangs in the franchise
Because the female Ronin soldier is the sexiest, not the tattoo black jacket ones, the yellow jacket ones
The bob haircut, the leather jacket, gives off the sexy Japanese tomboy look, especially when she wears the tracksuit pants
I honestly prefer them over other female gang members in other gangs, she's underrated af
And I named one of them Suki
anyone else miss the old saints row they needa make a 1 and 2 fully re
Mastered like 2k did with mafia one
Not only that, but make the first saints row cross platform
I was startin to get upset that you put the morning star so high but then you name dropped the nosferatu and so you cool in my book
Just beat Saints Row 1. Might as well do a personal list because seems like everyone else is having fun.
9. Deckers
8. Luchadores
7. The Morningstar
6. Rollerz
5. Los Carnales
4. The Ronin
3. Sons of Samedi
2. Vice Kings
1. The Brotherhood
Brotherhood definitely seemed to have the most firepower in saints row 2.
The biggest mistake Shogo ever made was pissing off Johnny Gat.
honestly in saints row 2 when I think about which is my favorite (which is the ronin) I would rank them as my favorite from their preferred radio station type of areas you'd see them in and the other stuff you said
In my opinion the best saint row was saint row 2. It had this unique gang theme that you don’t find in any other games even gta. Saint Row 2 really captures what a gang Video game is supposed to be. Saints Row the third was like a more modern version with better graphics and gameplay but SR 2 just had soo many good attributes.
Honestly The saints gangs Where stronger in sants row 2 then the saints gangs in saints row 3
SR2 is the best in the franchise. Gritty, but still humorous. I've put in more time in SR2 than the others. I love saints Row, and I hope the new reboot is alright.
Amazing editing!
What sealed the deal for the deckers being my favorite gang was the boss fight music being a deadmau5 song. 😂
