I’m over 250 pounds 5’8 and female I’ve been trying to lose weight for a while and while I have lost weight, it was all gained back twice fold I hope I never have to get this in order to lose weight, and that I could do it naturally.
My best advice for people who want to gain/lose weight: don't suffer following a super strict and unsustainable diet, just buy a food scales and get a phone app to count calories (I use Lifesum for example). There are many calculators online to know how many calories you should eat to gain or lose weight! After a while you'll be familiar with the food calories density and you will be able to arrange your diet in a flexible way without falling in the post-diet binge eating. Many times I had the chance to eat an ice cream during the diet, just because I was 300/400 calories under the ceiling at the end of the day. Of course it's an hard path, but everyone can follow it with knowledge, will power and the right instruments. You can do it too!
@@Blackicon97 I’ve been using Noom and I find a little time to exercise purposefully, because not only am I in marching band I’m also school and have a lot of homework so the only way I can try to lose weight is through diet basically. There was.
@@blackqweenmars exercising is important, indeed, but dieting alone is already a great thing. You can try to stay as more active as possible (walk everytime you can, don't take the elevator etc.). It's hard, I know, you feel hungry, but it's a matter of time until you get used to a different and healthier lifestyle. Also, once you reach your weight goal you can set your calories a bit higher and you won't gain nor lose weight.
@@blackqweenmars Include as much walking as you can in your day. If you can walk about 15.000 steps a day, you can skip workout, as they hold for about 600-800 kcal. Also, no sugar, zero, limit fruits, limit anything related to sugar, like fructose, alcohol. Remember that feeling hungry is just normal, don't open the fridge at the first feeling of emptiness. If you say you have a lot of work to do, then simply concentrate on the work rather than fridge or snacks, when you start feeling hungry. When you eat, eat slowly and put a little bit less in the plate than normal.

Im interested in this, but this scares me, and i would prefer at the moment to continue to lose weight with my 1500 calorie daily diet and my 6 miles of walking using my reebok weighted vest. I was 330lbs on july 1 2023 and have gone down to 300Lbs since October 7 2023 doing just that. The only issue i have come across is that i was starting to get some pain on my heal on the right foot, and it turned into plantar faciitis which has been pretty painful to deal with but after walking for a bit when i first get up in the morning or if i rest on the sofa, it slowly allows me to put pressure on it for walking. I apparently bought the wrong shoes which caused it. I now use sketchers GoRun shoes which helps alot but since the damage is already there, it only reduces the pain a bit but doesnt get rid of it. I honestly wish anyone trying to lose weight the best, im still interested in this and may do it if i keep hitting this weight loss plateau.
Undertaking such an invasive surgical route just to lose weight is something I would never in a million years consider, especially since there are other avenues to explore. Personally, I'd choose psychotherapy to address any emotional eating patterns and make a concerted effort to master healthy eating strategies. For instance, prioritizing the intake of protein and fiber could help with feeling full sooner and for longer. And you can also implement a workout routine. As a natural bodybuilder with a substantial amount of muscle mass, I can consume as much as 4,500 calories daily without gaining unwanted weight, thanks to the higher metabolic rate that comes with greater muscle mass.
@@abundantharmony I lost 121 lbs of pure fat by combining flexible dieting with a protein-rich and low-fat macro plan, since fat has a lot of calories. And I too had some emotional eating patterns that I needed to address before starting my weight loss journey. Why do some people prefer to pay for invasive surgery that removes a large portion of one of the most important organs in their body, instead of paying for psychotherapy? I just don't get it.
@@Marco_My_Words That's awesome. I guess surgery looks like the "easy way out" when people don't have the motivation for change. I actually really enjoy food. I couldn't imagine missing out on eating a decent meal for the rest of my life. Learning self control is so essential for a happy life. Besides, the body will still store fat even with that surgery. They can get just as many calories by eating many small meals during the day. It STILL requires them to do the emotional, mental work. You can read the comments and tell who's actually putting in effort. There are many, "It's been 6 months and I've finally lost 20 lbs" comments and it blows my mind. All that for 20 lbs?!?!?!? Make it make sense.
You do realize the stomach is ever growing right, so the whole point of "super invasive surgery to an important organ" crap is futile considering the stomach can expand
@@skatefang1 While it's true that the stomach can stretch slightly after bariatric surgery, it's a misconception to suggest that it "grows back" to its original size. The changes made during surgeries like gastric sleeve or bypass are substantial and permanent. A small degree of expansion over time is indeed possible, but this typically remains far less than a healthy and normal stomach size. This fact underscores a crucial point: the long-term success of bariatric surgery, or any weight loss strategy for that matter, heavily depends on the individual's commitment to a healthy lifestyle. This includes maintaining a balanced diet and engaging in regular exercise. Without these essential lifestyle changes, the benefits of any intervention, surgical or otherwise, could be significantly diminished. From this perspective, it's clear why non-surgical approaches to weight management, like psychotherapy to address emotional eating, dietary adjustments, and exercise, are not only viable but often preferable. They enable sustainable changes and improvements in health without the risks and invasiveness of surgery. In conclusion, while bariatric surgery can be an important tool for certain individuals, it's not the only path to weight loss, and it should only be a last resort. A balanced approach that includes psychological support, nutritional education, and physical activity can be a more sustainable and less invasive option for many.
this reminds me of king arthur story where one of the knight of round table felt lust towards king arthurs wife, so he decided to chop his penis off so he may never attempt adultery, but of course the entire court was disgusted by his action and shunned him for his defilement of his body. One must deal with his struggles and not give up on it in such extreme manner.
This isn’t weight loss surgery and not everyone overweight gets approved for it. It’s amazing how many ignorant people are in the comments seething at the first step towards a lifestyle change. I’m 21 years old and have binge eating disorder. I gained 200 lbs over the past 5-6 years and have been miserable. I know that junk is bad and weigh myself everyday but I lacked discipline and will to lose all this weight. I finally found out I’m pre diabetic and my doctor recommended this surgery to save my life. I got it 06/27/23 and it was the hardest and most painful experience coming out of anesthesia. It’s been a week and I’m following my diet, lost like 8 lbs. Junk food is an addiction and I applaud those who took this step to a thinner and healthier life.

We do know plenty of the long term effects, but if it’s between the effects of morbid obesity and those of this surgery, I think many prefer the surgery, ofc, much better if you can lose weight without the surgery, but if not, well.
@Q҉u҉i҉l҉i҉b҉e҉t҉ It's just an opinion. Do it. I don't care, but I still believe it's not normal to remove a huge part of your internal organ to lose weight. You can literally lose 20 lbs in 2 weeks EASY eating ketogenic breakfast foods. Eggs, butter, sausage, bacon, but NO carbs, and substitute sugar in tea and coffee for stevia. You can’t, your stomach will just end up expanding right back up

I’m over 250 pounds 5’8 and female I’ve been trying to lose weight for a while and while I have lost weight, it was all gained back twice fold I hope I never have to get this in order to lose weight, and that I could do it naturally.
you can do it. Presevere

When you're the first guy to fall asleep at the sleepover
Bloody good job mate, keep it up, and make sure not to damage yourself too much with that weighted vest, walking is the best kind exercise.
Good job, keep going. Body weight exercises are way to go. You don't need to restrict your calories, just eat once a day.
If I could lose 30lbs in 3 weeks on keto, anyone can. I can't imagine saying, "Screw all that diet stuff. CUT ME DOC!"
@@abundantharmony
I lost 121 lbs of pure fat by combining flexible dieting with a protein-rich and low-fat macro plan, since fat has a lot of calories.
@@skatefang1
While it's true that the stomach can stretch slightly after bariatric surgery, it's a misconception to suggest that it "grows back" to its original size.

If you’ve never been close to 300 lbs or over, you’ll never understand the pain it is just to try and be consistent when your results are slow and the cravings are strong. Junk food is an addiction and I applaud those who took this step to a thinner and healthier life.
100 bucks that it's just a sugar addiction or a coping mechanism for some social problem.
This is about as effective as sewing a smoker's lips together, so he can't smoke. It works, but you didn't need to maim yourself to solve the underlying problem.

We do know plenty of the long term effects, but if it’s between the effects of morbid obesity and those of this surgery, I think many prefer the surgery, ofc, much better if you can lose weight without the surgery, but if not, well.

I'm going to try to avoid this at all times if I see the nurse with that I'm freaking out
...Why? Such surgery is the most frequently performed surgery in the world, only in this case it is shown using a new fancy equipment made specifically for this. Surgery is done by an abdominal surgeon, under full anesthesia, and before starting you have to sign a bunch of consent papers and, in most countries, consult with two other doctors, including a psychiatrist.
The device in the video is probably so expensive that you won't see a random nurse walking around with it anyway.
