Really enjoyed your video tour of Avondale. I grew up on Oxford Road and lived opposite Elizabeth Chisholm Gardens. Used to play there all the time. Aberdeen Rd was a favourite on the bicycle to whiz down from the top of the hill and hit the brakes just before you got to St. Georges Rd. You could also go over the top of Aberdeen "hill" on the bike to get to Strathaven and the Avondale 6th Scout Group (Scout Hall) - many great memories - we never won any first aid or other scouting competitions, but we really had fun and got exposed to people and situations that really still impact me today. I remember suffering swimming lessons at Macdonald Park too! Thanks.
Harare city council destroyed the city please. Once beautiful gardens and roads are now an eye sore. Incompetent City Councillors. Potholes everywhere please.
Why always wanting to change names? the easiest thing to do - so long as its not maintenance and building new things to give whatever names which is whats really needed in the country
@@GeraldMahobhoit’s important to change names. King George road really? Zimbabweans need to free themselves from slavery and colonial mentality. Stop naming new residential areas English names. It’s a shame.

Home 🏡 sweet home 🏡
They need to change those name to local languages!
i think at the moment, proper maintenance of public infrastructure around those suburbs (roads and parks) is more important than changing names.
