Something I wish people would talk more about is short hair care! When I shampoo my scalp it is impossible for me to avoid the ends of my hair. Same with conditioner. If I condition my ends there is no possible way to avoid my scalp.

I've been washing my hair upside down for a while now, but when I saw this video and I started using the double cleanse, my hair is actually more voluminous and less oily 🤩
Traditionally in my country, women always wash their hair upside down. I hated it when I was a kid because of the uncomfortable posture. But recently, I’ve returned to my root and it does make a huge difference. No more hair falling like leaves in autumn. 😂

I was doing a new routine exactly like this since December. Its March now and seeing and feeling soooo many benefits. Before, I was considering chemical and keratin treatments, or straight perm to my unruly hair, but it’s so much more manageable and happier now! Less hair fall too.
My hair began shedding big time after a very stressfull time I went through. Consequently, I myself researched the net and decided to try a hair oil called litttleextra coocoonion & a comb made of neem wood. It really definitely worked. Now, my hair is lengthy, dense, dark hair which has grown down to my waist and cut off on three occasions after I began using it. Simple and effective. Also, just as good can be rubbing the scalp - it promotes hair growth. You only need to do this weekly. Before long, you will see new hair growing in.
Upon using Cocoonniion hair shampoo for more than a week, itself began to show better results than any other shampoo cleansers. Now, I’m experiencing no more hair fall problems and the smell is so pleasant and hair is developing steadily yet its at least working.
I’ve started washing my hair upside down and it feel so great because your solely focusing on taking care of your hair and not just jumping in the shower “real quick” for a shower. It’s a bit like extra self love.
Not sure if you’ve noticed this too but I also started started washing/drying my hair upside down and it gives me so much more volume now! I used to buy volume shampoo, conditioner, sprays, etc but this is better and cheaper. I even got my mom on board with the upside down hair washing! 🎉

Yayy!! This video is so helpful and everything was explained so well❤️ I recently found out about double cleansing your hair and I didn't believe it until I tried it myself. I have an oily scalp with dry ends. My hair was losing its shine, volume and I noticed that if I washed my hair after 2 or 3 days, I would have more hair fall. Also, oiling my scalp would lead to hair fall. I realized that it must be because my hair follicles are clogged so I started reading more about hair care. Now, I do double cleanse with my hair upside down after every two days with a professional shampoo. I then apply conditioner only to the ends and rinse it extra 2 minutes. After that, I apply oil to the ends of my wet hair . I use a micro fiber towel and when my hair is 60% dry, I blow dry on the lowest heat setting. I have been doing this for more than a month now and I'm so happy with the results! I'm finally getting my silky and shiny hair back.

I started take biotin (Hair plus from Germany) as I'm afraid of using Minoxidil for too long for my hair loss. Well this is the only biotin suplement that I found works and actually makes tiny hairs grows out. But the side effect is that you'll grow hairs everywhere else as well, so I started instead of 1 pill perday, I take 1 every other day. And then use hair tonic from some by me after washing. Well I would say my hair is not drastically changed but the falling stops, like a lot. And overall just be gentle, super duper gentle with your hair, I use nilon glove while washing too.

I'm a guy who decided to grow out my hair. I realize there is A LOT more to it when you have longer hair... I have this 2B, super wavy/almost curly hair and it always ends up frizzing really bad as soon as it dries, especially on the top! 😭 I wash my hair every 3rd day because I'm trying to style my hair. The "double-cleanse" tip is a HUGE game changer and I am super excited to apply this to my routine!
Please do because with curly hair I can go without washing it for a week (it’s super dry, coarse and fine) so shampooing (and double for that matter) is out of the question😂
@@princessbre You might be surprised, if your hair is dry, coarse and curly that might mean you need to wash it more. It's counterintuitive but I suffered from horrifically dry, fine, 4a-4b hair with zero shine and it took me forever to come around to the conclusion that avoiding shampooing my hair properly meant I had so much buildup it was unreal. I mean when you think about it people with kinky curly hair use heavier products, so what happens when you just layer them on top of each other and don't clean them off? No matter what I put on my hair it was dry and awful and refused to respond to product. Late last year I threw caution to the wind and gave shampooing more frequently a try because my hair could not get any worse, it was just about starting fires on its own and it has improved a lot . Today I managed to shampoo, condition, finger detangle, leave in condition, oil and gel my hair in 50 MINUTES. 50. This is used to take me hours when I was washing my hair once a week or once every two weeks! I pulled out about 10 hairs total too. I know there is a whole thing of no oils no butter is going on right now, but personally I think you can still use them so long as you cleanse your hair correctly!
@Cheshire Waltz Bingo! I keep trying to tell black women this. Ms. Mississippi here on UA-cam is proof of this and she uses grease! She washes with shampoo every 2-3 days and uses very minimal products. I started doing it and OMG! Hair is always soft and so much easier to detangle. I use a pure silicone product instead of grease though and that's it.
I definitely gave myself dandruff as a teen. I would shower and 10pm and go straight to bed because I loved how wavy my hair would be. I have a lot of coarse hair so it would be curlier if I laid down so it did have to fight gravity but the back of my head would still be wet in the morning. My hair takes so long to dry. If I wash it and wear it down, even on a hot summer day, it takes hours to dry. Someone told be I must have damaged hair for it to take that long buy no, it was virgin hair, rarely blow dried, and only washed 2x a week. I tried a deep conditioning treatment and a hair oil but the dry time was still the same. I dont get this whole “let your hair dry 50percent thing. I don’t have 2 hours after I shower to finish fixing my hair. Now I leave in in a towel for 40 min add styling cream and then either blow dry the roots if im staying home or the whole thing if I’m leaving
6:15 lots of times I wash my hair upside down because I dye my hair bright colors so I need to wash it with cold water but I can’t stand under the cold water so I use a detachable shower head and hang my head over the side of the tub to wash/tinse it
I wear hats often and have short hair and was noticing more itching of my scalp in the back of my head and the crown and starting looking into products to relief this issue. But possibly, I just haven't been washing my hair well enough and also occasionally go to bed with damp hair. These are such simple tips and life-changing. Just did this in the shower and I could tell in the way it was lathering that my scalp and hair were actually getting CLEAN. I feel like such an idiot never having lathered shampoo in my hands before applying it to my hair. Thank you so much for this video!
i have VERY DRY scalp and in my experience, applying conditioner on my scalp has helped so much. i feel like to some people and their concerns, it’s okay to do that. i don’t like this idea that you should ONLY condition the mids to ends.
Hi, thank you for the hair tips. I do have a question though,...how many minutes should i condition or leave the conditioner in my hair before washing out???
My hair is really short, as in bob just to my ears so when people say only put shampoo on your scalp, my hair is too short and inevitably it just goes all over my hair. I always shampoo twice though, first with the olaplex clarifying shampoo and then a normal hydrating shampoo, I only wash twice a week though. I never used to emulsify, I only found out about it recently and it's changed everything. I use so much less shampoo.
Blowout professor actually teaches not to latter shampoo before applying and start at the top of the scalp. All these professionals giving different advice is so confusing D:
The best method I’ve found is to maintain my acid mantle-which means as little washing as possible, as few ingredients as possible. I never ever use shampoo, for many years now. There is an entire method for scalp and hair care called “no poo” (ha) that focuses on maintaining your scalp acid mantle. I started doing this many years ago and after a period of adjustment my once oily greasy hair became much healthier
I changed my haircare routine last month. Now my hair is thinker, less frizzy and more sliky and shiny. I do all the things mentioned in the video (except the hair towel and chemical exfoliation) where I learned from Audrey Victoria. I also did hair training (yes i am aware it may not work for others, but my hair has become less frequently oily) as well as using Ritual's products.
I love this video format 👌 tips from expert. Would love to see more of these! Especially would love to hear experts opinion on dry shampoos! Thank you🙏
So interesting! I always thought it was best to extend the length of your hair washing days but she makes it sound like it’s all dependent on your routine and your hair care needs. Nice! I wish I could prolong my hair washing days but atm I only feel comfortable with every other day before it starts to smell 😅
Glad I'm doing most of the things right. I have curly hair so I learnt, in the worst way possible, that is not great if I apply shampoo directly into my hair.
Hello! I hope somebody can help me understand this. So (from minute 3), we are advised to wash the back of the head first, then rinse and do the scalp. Is this considered a double cleanse, or should we repeat the process and do it again (back and scalp)? Thanks!
bruh i had no idea how to wash my hair until now, ive been mixing the shampoo and conditioner in my hands and doing both at the same time, not multiplying it, washing the hair instead of the scalp, ive been doing everything wrong, and when i dry my hair im super rough with it and baisically just sandpaper the water away with a towel thank you so much for teaching me 😭
since shampoos promote drying of the hair which is beneficial for dandruff. I have torn between its benefits for my scalp and super dry hair outcome huhu idk anymore. My question is it still advisable or just fine to use conditioner at least once a week?
I really love this channel, one of my 5 favourites. But sometimes for hair video, I feel sad because I'm an afro girl with kinky hair and I don't think my type of hair is included by theses amazing advices. Since more than 10 years I saw dandruff spread from a corner to all my scalp and became worse. Even after 1 or 2 day after the wash my scalp is itchy, full of build-up, dandruff and sooo dry (you know this white/grey scalp) 😪 I can't wash my hair every day or even 2, 3 days because you know wash day on afro hair is something else 😅 But really I want to try these products but how can I manage with my routine ? And I live in France but the shipping is not possible here. Do you know other alternatives I could have ? I think your answer will help other people too 😉
Honestly, no curly hair girl should be taking advice from anyone with straight hair. A lot of research is not done on our hair. Follow the scientists on youtube with natural afro hair. They are plenty. Also, I absolutely wash my ends because of styling products. I don't understand this idea of not cleansing your ends when you're putting in leave in conditioners, gel, etc on your hair. Also, our hair has a completely different structure from straight and wavy hair. As in genuinely, our hair doesn't retain water much, and is far more susceptible to breakage. Double shampooing is something I only do after braids. I personally also don't put anything on my scalp. I stopped using oils because it was just clogging my scalp.
I suggested it because they don’t require extra hair washing, and I believe there are products made for people with type 3 or 4 hair too. But of course, ask a professional (Not random people on the internet.) they can help find the right solution for you.
You might enjoy content from black girl curls and other curl specialists! They specialize in reducing the effort of your routine and keeping your hair healthier than ever. I’m a cosmetology student (almost done!) and personally I’ll double cleanse if my client needs it, which varies on the products used. Please wash all your hair if you use products 😭. Same with conditioner, roots to ends but not scalp. Textured hair is textured all over not just ends. I’d also apply water based botanical products like foams or gels when hair is soaking wet and detangled. Then hover diffuse or hood dry for elongation or regular diffuse for more volume.
I've been washing my hair upside down in my kitchen sink for years, LOL. I love the fact that I can use both hands to scrub and rinse my hair while the water is running.
My sister told me a few years ago that a double cleanse is the way to go. Her hairstylist told her that. So i started it and it was a game changer for me! I use way less product in the two washings and my hair is so fluffy and healthy and feels better.
Please talk about how to remedy hair that gets oily within 24 hours of washing. I feel like I cleanse properly and my hair still gets greasy really fast
I saw a tip on another video about cleaning your hair brush with shampoo. Hadn’t occurred to me the build on the brush (if only pulling out hair and rinsing it) that then gets on your clean hair. May help 🤷♀️ … also as she mentioned maybe it could be a soft water issue
Hard water has more minerals like calcium in it, so if you get like, the white build up around your faucets, you probably have hard water. I think it's mostly just a circumstance of where you live.. but there are probably filters you can use to take the minerals out for "softer" water.
It's so crazy how every expert says something different and they all have "science" behind it. It's such a joke. So many experts say, emulsifying shampoo in your hands is bad. Many others say, emulsifying shampoo is bad. Many say the nape of the neck should be last. Others say it should be first.
Because they are not scientists...graduating from the youtube academy doesn't make them a scientists 😂. They are just spreading misinformation. Like this woman!
Oh my gosh. I never thought about going to bed with a damp scalp is a breeding ground for the bacteria which causes dandruff and things. That’s so soo interesting, been going to bed with a damp scalp my entire life rip no wonder ☠️☠️
I have hair falls and I don't know how to fix it. My hair falls became less when I started using hair conditioner every day but now it's back since I stopped using it every day. Is it really okay to use hair conditioner every day? Someone told me that it's not good. Also, how many times should I wash my hair in a week? I tried shampooing my hair every other day and hair conditioner every day and my hair fall became less, but I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing. I have hair falls for years.
hey it's good to wash your hair every other day specially if that lessens the hair fall, also i don't recommend using shampoo and conditioner everyday because the oil in your scalp could be taken off, it would look stressed and it can actually make it oilier. when you wash your hair too often, it causes your scalp to overproduce oil to rehydrate. washing your hair less often is actually a key to keeping it clean for longer, and you can train your oil glands to produce less oil by gradually waiting longer between hair washes. (actually searched this) overall yes, it's alright to wash your hair carefully with shampoo and conditioner, only the mid to ends not the scalp every other day :))
@@jilyyyyy. When I use my hair conditioner every day, I only wet my scalp with water and I apply the conditioner from mid to the end, will the oil still be removed? Also, thank you for the answer, I appreciate it. ❤️
@@meizhniee actually the oil in your hair called sebum helps to protect your scalp and hair, to keep them healthy and feeling moisturized. it's actually a natural oil that our hair has and it's good for us, however it shouldn't be removed every single day because it protects our scalp. yes the oil will be removed but it doesn't really help your hair to grow, and you shouldn't wash your hair everyday with conditioner, one of it's causes is hair fall. also you're welcome :))
I wash my hair frequently and it gets tangled and oily if i leave it too long (like I wash it every other day nearly everyday) should i only do 1 shampoo not twice cuz yk (also I have to wash it everday due to a personal issue)
I'm a guy trying to grow my wavy hair long. It's always limp, stringy, and frizzy after showering. I can't seem to wash it properly, no matter the type or amount of shampoo, how I massage it, or how long I rinse. I suppose my home's hard water is partially to blame. I wish I could care for my hair properly because it's really hurting my self-esteem.
I was the same way, what helped me was washing less and mainly using a creme/leave in conditioner. I personally use the Shea moisture hair masque before showering and just rinse it out and massage the roots really well. I do shampoo maybe once a week if I feel my hair getting oily
I don't think scalp care requires any special shampoo or exfoliants. It all has to do with 1.) Water 2.) Amount of heating you do to your hair 3.) The amount of products used in the hair. If you are someone that doesn't style your hair often like me the there is less damage for you to fix. I do agree with the right way to wash the hair but i don't think you need these products to get a clean healthy scalp. The nizoral and salicylic 2% shampoo along with the scalp scrubbing tools goes a long way and they are less than $10. Women in other countries such as India have long, thick, healthy hair and they don't use all these extra products or use any heat in their hair. When i moved to the states all my hair fell out. I blame the water and the climate.
I wish I could just use a normal shampoo. I’m on the medicated stuff for my seb derm and though it’s been 3 months since my derm put me on it, I’m right back to itching the same way I was before. It’s like my scalp adjusts to whatever product I use for longer than a month. I don’t think it’s so simple. I wish it was :(
Please help me. If I can't condition the top of my head, my hair is so tangled and snaps when I try to brush through. But if I put anything on my scalp, I feel it on my scalp the next day, and it builds up really fast. Idk if this makes sense, but I need help. I have very thin fine hair.

Try drying with a diffuser if you want to encourage those waves
6:15 lots of times I wash my hair upside down because I dye my hair bright colors so I need to wash it with cold water but I can’t stand under the cold water so I use a detachable shower head and hang my head over the side of the tub to wash/tinse it
It helps alot 💖 Thank you 😇 keep on shining God bless you all 🙏
I wear hats often and have short hair and was noticing more itching of my scalp in the back of my head and the crown and starting looking into products to relief this issue.
Everyone has different scalp types and is really nice of you to share your experience with us hehe
I'm so glad you've shared this because I'm currently dealing with this. 😭
Hi, thank you for the hair tips. I do have a question though,...how many minutes should i condition or leave the conditioner in my hair before washing out???
wow she gave great tips !! i didnt know how to properly use my shampoo now i know great tip
Mind-blowing info!!! Wash my hair in a different way now🤯
What do you color your hair with? It’s a lovely soft brown and looks very natural. Hope you can make a video about it.
Should you finish the wash with cold water? I find that I shed less hair. Hair looks more shiny when I use cold water at the end.
Definitely needed this. My hair has really tight curls and my hair is also really dry.
Glad you enjoy the video~ Hope you have a great hair day
@@BeautyWithin thank you! You too!😊
How do these recommendations vary by hair texture? Specifically for curly and coily (type 3 and 4) textures.
Juuuuust as I'm heading in the shower 🚿 🤪 🙌
Same 😁
What a perfect timing hehehehehe 🤭
just as i get out of the shower for me.
Same here
Just do what works for you and you preffer. I do as blowout professor says, i like...
I agree, I watch these to learn but I find I’m getting more confused 🤔
Could you name the products

Thanx 4 those tips, now I know how 2 wash my hair with a new routine 😊
I have a question. How many times a day should I wash my hair? I quite didn’t hear this answer
I love this video format 👌 tips from expert. Would love to see more of these! Especially would love to hear experts opinion on dry shampoos! Thank you🙏
legit never tipped my head upside down. i'm shook!
I have curly hair and add shampoo directly to my hair....and it's fine. That's the proper way to wash!
Hello! I hope somebody can help me understand this.
So (from minute 3), we are advised to wash the back of the head first, then rinse and do the scalp. Is this considered a double cleanse, or should we repeat the process and do it again (back and scalp)? Thanks!
How do I properly care for a pixie cut?
Very information! I want to try out the products but the discount code doesn't work on the UK site. Not sure if this can be added as well.
bruh i had no idea how to wash my hair until now, ive been mixing the shampoo and conditioner in my hands and doing both at the same time, not multiplying it, washing the hair instead of the scalp, ive been doing everything wrong, and when i dry my hair im super rough with it and baisically just sandpaper the water away with a towel
thank you so much for teaching me 😭
Do Act + Acre products work for curly hair as well?
since shampoos promote drying of the hair which is beneficial for dandruff.
Even after 1 or 2 day after the wash my scalp is itchy, full of build-up, dandruff and sooo dry (you know this white/grey scalp) 😪
I can't wash my hair every day or even 2, 3 days because you know wash day on afro hair is something else 😅 But really I want to try these products but how can I manage with my routine ? And I live in France but the shipping is not possible here. Do you know other alternatives I could have ?
I think your answer will help other people too 😉
Could it be solution to use a leave on product? There are more and more options available. Check your local pharmacy?
Thanks for the tips! Could we get some reviews on Korean sun sticks since summer is coming soon?
I've been washing my hair upside down in my kitchen sink for years, LOL. I love the fact that I can use both hands to scrub and rinse my hair while the water is running.
i have a question, but which water temperature is better for the hair?
I always face drastic hair fall while washing my hair if I use a conditioner, I skip it completely now!
Been washing my hair up side down for life.
I'm just going to say it. I greatly appreciate that you're respecting yourself and us with your shower scenes.
Thank you for the tips!
However, hair care should not cost a fortune, I would love to hear more budget friendly products.
Happy to hear you love the tips :) We might do a hair care products recommendation video in the future, so stay tune :)
I use a little bit of apple cider vinegar with water and it's the only thing that helps for me. I know it's not for everyone.
Learned a lot, great video.
I wash my hair once a month as it is in my culture, my hair is also very long and it works for me
😳 how does your scalp not feel gross after a few days ?? And not feel greasy ??
My sister told me a few years ago that a double cleanse is the way to go. Her hairstylist told her that. So i started it and it was a game changer for me! I use way less product in the two washings and my hair is so fluffy and healthy and feels better.
Thank you!!! I love your guys channel
Genuine question, what is hard water??? and how do you get soft water?
Hard water has more minerals like calcium in it, so if you get like, the white build up around your faucets, you probably have hard water. I think it's mostly just a circumstance of where you live.. but there are probably filters you can use to take the minerals out for "softer" water.
@@lilit3307 i thought they were talking about the pressure of the water..
Is it useful to use a hair scrub once a week?
Wonderful video! Thank you!
Thanks for the tips.
Is it safe to use shampoo daily?
I kept missing the back of my scalp and washing it once. I also was conditioning wrong and couldn’t figure out how to use it.
Love this video so much!
Oh my gosh. I never thought about going to bed with a damp scalp is a breeding ground for the bacteria which causes dandruff and things. That’s so soo interesting, been going to bed with a damp scalp my entire life rip no wonder ☠️☠️
But what if you have colored hair, I have blue hair and use blue conditioner, should I not put it on my roots then?
(actually searched this)
overall yes, it's alright to wash your hair carefully with shampoo and conditioner, only the mid to ends not the scalp every other day :))
Are there any studies about only washing scalp and as you rinse it it cleanses your mids and ends too? I find this hard to believe.
Definitely need to practice I shampoo too much
I wash my hair frequently and it gets tangled and oily if i leave it too long (like I wash it every other day nearly everyday) should i only do 1 shampoo not twice cuz yk (also I have to wash it everday due to a personal issue)
How to stop hairfall and dandruff? Frizzy&damage rough ends...
such a helpful video!!! she's a wise woman!!😍
My hair is very staticy, what can i do for that?
beauty within means? combination of what i put on my body and what i put on my body? 😮 isn’t it the same
And I do blast my roots before bed if I wash at night. If I can’t fully air dry I’ll use my Dyson.
How often should extra oily scalp be washed.
I wish it was :(
how many times a week can you wash your hair? I want to have very long hair, but it breaks fast
If your scalf is oily you can wash it 3 times a week but if you have normal scalf 2 times will be enough (i wash my hair on sunday and thursday)

As I child, I always washed my hair in the upside down way, over the bathtub. Now it appears a good way 😅 My hair was so good back then! :(
Please help me. If I can't condition the top of my head, my hair is so tangled and snaps when I try to brush through. But if I put anything on my scalp, I feel it on my scalp the next day, and it builds up really fast. Idk if this makes sense, but I need help. I have very thin fine hair.
