    Jen I love the fact that you leave in your videos all the good , bad, and the outcome no matter what happened. My favorite is the Swamp Witch dresser. I would have bought that in a second if I had the chance. Your videos cheer me up and always keep me interested in learning new things that are out of my comfort zone.

      Lyn you're so kind, thank you so much! 🥰 I feel like it doesn't do anybody any good to pretend something turned out when it didn't. I'm all about the realness over here! And can I just say, I'm so freaking happy to hear you're inspired to try new things!!

    First, let me say that shelf looks MUCH better than it did when you started! Second, your taping was perfection! I’m sure Marissa will be very proud of you and honored that you copied her for this challenge. Third, when your tools or equipment fail, that doesn’t make your project a fail! You did a great job - and you learned something. Last, you have proven once again you are brave and you have created a great community here. Not every creator would post their video if this happened to them. And not every creator gets lots of support from the viewers of their content. You did good, Jenn! Go grunge that thing up to your heart’s content! I can’t wait to see what you do with it!🌸

      Thank you so much Deborah for saying all that. I'm all but speechless, you're too sweet! 🥰 I hope she's happy with what I did. It's always tough to copycat someone, especially when they're sooo good at what they do! It was a fun learning lesson and I'm always happy to share the fails with all of you. Our peeps over here rock and are just cheerleaders on each other's journey. Anything I can do to save someone time or frustration, I'm gonna share it no matter how many of these I need --> 🤦🏼‍♀️ 😆 thank youuuuuu! It's going grunge!

    Marisa makes it look so easy! I'm glad I'm not the only one to love her work and struggle to copy it. You went hardcore with your deco design, very impressive😀This middle aged lady elevates every piece as I can not do floor work 😄 We appear to be living in parallel universes only you are in a super dry climate and I'm in a humid one. As always, the faux wood grain was spectacular! And the taping/design for the art deco was incredible!!!! I wish it had worked out for you, but the tape design alone was worth it. I had to 8 Mile this one or I might have cried! It was fun getting to experience what another artist goes through for their craft, though. Hmm, I feel like you're the only Viking vote so far. You spent so much time taping and measuring and getting it all to look just right, and boom. So sorry you had to deal with that. I could see your shoulders drooping with the disappointment. But you tried! I don't know that I would ever try something that ambitious, especially since I suck at math. However having been a crafter for years, I can attest to how difficult working with acrylic paints (especially the metallic ones) can be. Over the years, I've learned that the metallic paints need a base coat in a similar color (matte then metallic). It makes them pop better, and eliminates the streaks that invariably happen. Go for the destruction bit, because after the 5 hours on the floor, you deserve the cathartic relief.

    • @CopperCactusDIY
      @CopperCactusDIY  Рік тому

      Cathartic relief - loving that description for the destruction to come! I'm over the worst of feeling upset, actually that happened a few minutes later like I said. But watching the footage back makes me facepalm for sure lol. It's gonna feel sooooo good to take this one to the mat! Thanks for the tips on acrylic metallics, Maureen! I'm an old hat at matte finish acrylics but this is a new thing, trying metallics. I'm keeping all this in mind for next time 🥰
