- Hey gamers! GullYY here, welcome to a bit of a different video. In this video, I react to a few of my old gameplay videos of the Battle of Polytopia. The oldest video came out in 2018, and it's interesting to see how my skills have grown as a Polytopia player, and as a Content Creator! It's also interesting to see how the game has evolved over the years. I hope you enjoy!

I remember the good ol' days of polytopia back when beating a crazy bot was impressive. We all thought we were good but we definitely weren't lol
i used to be proud to win 2 normal bots in 50 turns xd

@@Griffo4if you keep playing very quickly you'll realize how easy they are you just have to understand the mechanisms of the game. Which happens with experience

I'm new to the polytopia community and I really find your channel very interesting. And it is really fascinating to watch your gameplay.
Also, I tried to do 15 bots with diplomacy in crazy mode too since you uploaded it. Now I am stuck on having a peace treaties with all the other tribes in a domination game. I feel like Russia.
You can cancel peace treaties in the diplomacy tab
Or crush them by making the AI back out of treaties with supreme force
I can imagine gullyy reacting to this video 5 years in future
An interesting video idea is to get two Kraken pros to square off and record their perspectives. You could commentate on it, it’d be interesting to see how they play.

Hey GullYY, nice vid! Could you make a vid about roads and unit movement in general? Like how exactly mountains etc. block movement? I really struggle with that aspect in my games, so maybe you can help. Would love it!
good news, some people are researching community vocabulary, how diplomacy affects them (if at all, likely just that you can use the roads of people you're at peace with) and terrain interactions players are more likely to be confused by to explain
I liked it when you could start on an island with just one village, you could play with your friends and it would be so funny with that one friend just battling for their life on their tiny island.
Honestly, I’d enjoy watching you react to more of your past videos.

Are custom houses bad? It seems you’ve moved away from them over the years, but other polytubers still use them. I guess I just want to know why. Great video btw 👍
Custom houses are for late game I think. But yeah it's true he isn't using them so much.
Custom houses are a long term big investment. Also mainly for ocean maps, which he doesn't play so much.
Custom houses take a LOT of time to setup and let you exposed to be rushed. They are mostly late game technology to allow spam of expensive battleships. Most land units can be funded without them.
You can't play custom house on a dry land map ahahahah
