- This video shows my amazing hike up the toughest foothills peak I've ever done. Mt. Morrison. This 7,881 foot tall peak is in Red Rocks Park outside of Denver and is a very strenuous 4 mile hike with almost 2000 feet of gain and a class 3 scramble at the end. Alex and I did this the day after Red Rocks got 8 inches of fresh snow! Enjoy!
Love it! I'm glad to see more of these vids getting uploaded onto UA-cam! Thanks for sharing. 😀
Beautiful Red Rocks. We haven’t been there is several years. Thank you for the great views.👍🏼
It is an awesome place! Glad you enjoyed!
Awesome views!! Did the lady get her dog back OK? I don’t blame Alex - haha - I would have turned around too! That was some intense looking scrambling 👍 Good job!
Yes she did! And it was definitely an intense climb! Like I said in the video, I couldn't blame anyone for turning around. Thanks for watching!
Loved it :) Waching more..
Looks like a great day !!! I just finished up a 4 day ice climbing trip in Ouray & actually just posted the video of it. Colorado has some incredible country that I definitely want to spend a lot more time exploring.
Morrison was my first significant Colorado ascent. There was a think blanket of fog right up to the summit, so I didn’t get to appreciate the views over Red Rocks and Denver on the way up. Cleared on the descent though.
The climb itself is pretty relentless in its intensity and as Ethan points out, the final few hundred feet are C3 requiring all limb engagement in places, so keep that in mind.
If you’re thinking of a first foothills summit, I’d maybe suggest tackling Mt. Falcon which is just south of Red Rocks.
Hey! Planning on coming here soon, what boots do you recommend for this trip?
