I thought the 1TB Seagate expansion card for $220 was overpriced. Then, I looked at the PS5 storage situation after I was able to get one from Walmart. As far as I could see, all the reputable expansion SSDs cost the same - around $200 for 1 TB. So you save $20 - not a big deal, imo, especially as the expansion card is more convenient.
A caveat is that the PS5 has 667GB usable space compared to the XB's 802GB. That's a 135GB difference which to me is quite significant. That cost is in there somewhere. You really need to expand the PS5... (I gave the PS5 to my brother-in-law).
I am not interested in VR for the same reason I don't like 3D movies... I don't like wearing things on my head to play a game or watch a movie. Nor do I want to be standing in an open area. Maybe Flight Simulator? But, I'd be sitting for that.
The PS controller has features I don't care about... haptic, touchpad, mic, built in batteries*. I barely care about vibration. (it kind of reminds me of Switch's tech where you can feel a ice cube drop? I didn't care nor have I played a game where I was dropping ice cubes.) Having said that, I think MS should lower the prices of the controllers.
Btw, number 7 is correct... for the PS5. I can't wait until a newer better version comes out that doesn't look so hideous and huge.
The exclusives that I am interested in? Forza Horizon, Flight Simulator, ALL my old backwards compatible games. That's the only reason I got an X series b/c of my library of discs.
*btw, a complaint I see is that the controller uses AA batteries. Please go buy Eneloop rechargeable batteries. I have so many custom battery packs and chargers for my older systems that are just wasting space. Don't buy batteries that are only good for 1 thing. I love that the xbox controller allows me to use my Eneloops.

I use rechargeables for my xbox controllers. It's one piece and just being able to swap out when low instead of having to swap controllers is great.
I picked up a Seagate 2tb for 60 beans, no way I'm paying 200 odd for storage

It's expensive as f compared to console, especially with the inflated video card costs. You'll spend $1500 on say a 3070 alone.

I PC gamed all last gen barely touched consoles. Got the Series X day one with the intention to build another PC (Series X is basically twice what my i5/1070 PC is). Lol yeah so much for that. Glad I got my X at least.

I hate that mic on ps5 controller. I bumped it on and was talking smack in a game. Then it was heard through controller and someone reported me an I got a permanent account ban and lost 200 digital games on my ps5 account that I've had since ps3 days.

I have a gaming PC & Nintendo Switch and have been thinking about getting a console. The PS5 and Series X would've been good choices if they weren't so overpriced. The Series S seems like a good choice right now because of the price, game pass (it can also play exclusive Xbox games from previous generations), and despite the lesser hardware, it doesn't seem to be losing much compared to the Series X.
I think you're on the right track. The Series S IS the BEST DEAL IN GAMING.

Exactly play station is the better console. Innovation, new controller plus UI, and far better features like 3D audio. It also has VR which is something Xbox lacks. Xbox is so lazy that even the freaking UI is the same plus they lack games. Xbox is a joke. All they talk about is game pass and that's it. No games nothing. On play station you get more and better quality exclusive games. Just look at horizon forbidden west. You will never see a game like that on Xbox. Xbox is just a Netflix machine with very few mediocre Xbox exclusive games.
