$700 for a mid gen refresh which doesn’t really have games to optimize it fully, is crazy to me. High chance it’s still a cap of 30 fps with most games. Hope the price comes down.
No way and hell it’s going to have a 30fps cap I guarantee it the ps5 pro will have atleast a 4k 120fps in 3 years tvs will be doing 4k 165fps and so will ps6

A 4060 is more powerful than a PS5, which is only $200-$300, a PS5 is equal to a 2070 which came out in 2019

Just to give some historical context.. the original price of the PS3 was in the region of $600. I think I paid €250 for a brand new PS4 a year or two after it's launch.
Sony are shamelessly exploitng their current popularity, but its only a matter of time before someone ruthlessly undercuts this. Microsoft's silence in all this is conspicuously loud.
because Xbox isnt focused on console gaming anymore, i wouldnt be surprised if they dont produce a new console next generation. their systems dont really sell and they are sold at a loss... where these console companies except nintendo make the bank is in the software sales and this is how MS is absolutely destroying it as they got into xboss pass and released their games on pc ages ago and now sony whilst sony only had recently done it in the past 2 to 3 years. money is not in the hardware the money is in the software. exclusives are no longer the context of their agenda they are a business they in it to make money. MS bought up all the top studios because their sales figures are high as consumers flock in drones and thats exactly how MS is destroying Sony. and considering games now cost 200m plus AAA level they honestly really cant afford to depend on their game to be successful on a single platform. and Nintendo absolutely destroys in their software sales despite their shitty potatoe system they sell their systems break even or slightly on profit and their games is what makes em grin ear to ear. xbox is following suit... MS is now being thrown money too by nintendo and sony to have the rights to have triple A games like call of duty and blizzard hit their systems.

I play 99% of my games on PC but I'm buying a PlayStation pro because I'm not waiting 2 years for GTA 6 to come out on PC. I don't want to get spoiled I want to experience everything for the first time.

$700 is wild. I just built my cousin a 12600k/3080ti rig for a little over $800...used PC hardware is a literal steal right now, I haven't seen benchmarks yet but i'll put money on the 3080ti massively out performing the ps5 pro.

its subjective cause most of these games deprive from console, and the issue with consoles coming to pc as of late is its horrible horrible optimization and it takes about a year or 2 after the games release on console. so its a catch 22 do you wanna play now and enjoy it while its hot and while the servers are blooming on console or are you gonna risk a shitty port whilst the masses have moved on. it has its pros and cons. where consoles triumph is zero trouble shooting issues just plug and play and experience a hacking frenzy experience, where pcs triumph in modding!!! the ability of modding is arguably the best feature on pc but multiplayer is plagued with cheaters... GTA5 online with console is a true and utter clean experience, gta5 ,on pc good luck your gaming experience sessions arr ruined or your DDoS attacked whilst the hackers have obtained your ip information revealing some questionable information you dont wanted doxed and the ddos attack keeps forcing you to restart your router and sometimes your pc/game. pros and cons

honestly i would not buy the pro. because even sony is releasing their exclusives eventually on steam, why would i waste my money on a pro when i will eventually get it on pc. i kinda see gaming as a dead horse. lets really think about this, how many true hit games have come out in the past few years, we got gta 6 coming out, which is going to break records, but other then that, we don't have any truly ground breaking games, to justify a pro version console. hell most people still only have 1080p tvs. i have had 2 4k tvs, and they are terrible tvs.
i have a 4k tv in my living room that is 4 years old tops, and it's almost dead, i have a 1080p tv in my bedroom from 2015 and it has zero issues. i think i am done investing large amounts of money into something i am supposed to enjoy, and all it seems to be doing is soaking me.
I hope the PS5 pro could use 4K TVs well, normal ps5 wasn't bad so i'm hopikg for improvments
All I do is console gaming now. No more PC for me for now. Of course, I’m almost 50, so probably not the target market anymore. 🤔
hitting into 42 and a few buddies of mine have migrated to console gaming we just absolutely love the the accessibility of an easy experience no waiting for a buddy trying to figure out why his system cant run the game anymore, it has arguably the best online mic party chats than discord super easy and we are all playing form a same hardware performance level no more the one buddy throwing 3000$ dollars at a system thats all tricked out. its quick its fine and we love it, when i am playing alot i spend alot of my time making modes with unreal editor and asset manager to build the game on how it should of been released and thats all dedicated to first player games which is heaps and heaps of fun but lacks the rell comradery you would find on consoles online. discord is a vile place and the moderators are plagued withed with the thirst of power just like the POHlice and polticians.

@@Old-Boy_BEbopThat was on of my problems with pc gaming. I kept upgrading. I probably spend a couple of grand every few years for upgrades. With a console, I buy it and I’m good for a few years at least.
Juat stick with the original ps5 no need the pro.

That's the US MSRP. You can add another $200 for western Evropa. At which point it's getting beyond ridiculous considering this also goes for games and they're $10-20 more expensive than PC releases.

If you can’t afford DONT BUY IT. Not to mention if you already have the 5 and want the pro, sell your old one or trade it in for the new one, or if you don’t have the 5 and can’t afford the pro, you might have bigger problems to worry about. Also there a multitude of world related factors to why the PS5 is not cheaper. The price of the Yen and inflation for parts, they’ve said this ad nauseam.This is already there most successful console generation just in 4 years.

Secondly, what do you mean by”fight for access to games”, more people now have the ability to play games than ever before. Also that stance is flawed because gaming is NOT A NECESSITY. There are a billion ways to get/play games, now if it’s the games you want…that’s a different story. This is a luxury market, no one is entitled to anything until they pay or sign up to opt into something. Same with Phones, you don’t have to have the Pro model for the iPhone, if you can’t afford it there are other options…same with PS5 pro and base model.

@@UncleDjGames Tbh, I don’t care about the price going up in Japan for a few reasons. 1. I don’t live in Japan and from the sounds of it neither do you. 2. I already have one. 3. Why are are fighting for the people that wouldn’t buy it at a lower price? If they didn’t care to buy it for then who is the price hike really affecting. The switch raised prices and that thing was outdated when it released and not a peep from anyone happened. If people already have the console in Japan then this won’t affect them and if they didn’t buy it when it was cheaper then who is going to affect? Also sales do occur. What is it like 50$ more in Japan, quite literally if 50$ more can break the bank then maybe they got bigger fish to fry than buying a 500$ console.

Great news for me, this is an example when a company milking you and you are still support them this is a lesson for fans. Best time to own a pc, support from sony and microsoft , mod for games, better graphics , dlss or lossless scaling support that will give you extra frames, you can do a lot of things with pc, emulators , programs , and all of that for 1000 dollars, then you had a console that ask you 750 us dollars rofl, the only thing that console is better is the straightforward way of playing games, nothing else.Also cross gen have an impact on titles, most games have ps4 as a base for their graphics, that mean that you cannot see the true power of ps5.
