BTW, anyone who mentions or otherwise complains about them not playing a track they wanted to hear during a 45min set is the very definition of ungrateful. Fucks sake, we've been waiting for this for 21 years.

no shit! I've seen them 7 times back in the day, and never once was i let down by a setlist. same for this show (which i, sadly, could not attend). I've been waiting forever to see these three beautiful souls back on stage together. the thought of complaining about the songs chosen seems nutty to me. i understand hoping for something, but jeez, love what you get. it may be the last time.

Complaining about set lists after such a long time - makes me wonder if people actually like the band. Some people seem to have totally lost touch with reality, being used to have everything available at any time.

Thx for posting Bay Area Punk...When my good friend from Norway who lives in Oakland told me he just saw Jawbreaker play the Ivy Room, I about reached thru the phone here in San Diego to throttle him. It should have been me there. Saw & hung out with them at many shows 93-96'. Really FUCKING jealous!

The “Oh my god....” at the end of the first song is absolutely perfect.
BTW, everyone asking about why they didn't play certain songs - it was a California song theme night and they only played 45 mins as a warm up for Riotfest.

He probably sing those older songs in that "belting" style anymore. Other singers from bands with similar singing style have talked about not being able to sing with that intensity when you're older. Paul Westerberg with The Replacements and Bob Mould in the earlier Husker Du stuff are good examples. They have both talked about how they just don't have that inner intensity/anger/youth/whatever it is to sing in that style anymore. It sucks, but it's the reality of life and age!
It'd be such an awesome tour if Jawbreaker went out on the road with bands like Braid, Deftones, Brand New, Quicksand, American Football, The Promise Ring etc...
One of these bands is not like the other.
Jawbreaker, Deftones, Napalm Death, Madonna....same thing basically.
Deftones can move through them all really.

I've seen Jawbreaker five times and Jets To Brazil twice. You could invite me to Sweden, kill me, and maybe entrap that essence! On a jealous note, the first time I saw JTB, I had tears in my eyes multiple times. I had never seen a musician play with such intensity, direction, and compassion until then.
Expect them to show up at Primavera 2018, maybe Roskilde

Sucks Blake was worried about living up to his old tunes, they sound even better in a way now that his voice is older and more ragged. We never loved his vocals for being pitch-perfect anyway, right?
Mat Turner Blake's voice has never been great, thats why it's great. Been listening to jawbreaker for a long time and really enjoy jtb too....Blake is an enigma I love his voice.
Sorry fans, No band on Earth can perform Busy and do justice to the recording. They will never play it live.

Where are the songs from unfun and bivouac?
I am not sure he can still sing those. He had surgery on his voice before 24 Hour Revenge Therapy, and he sang different after that. At least that is what I have been told.
Nicholas Tazza they still playing some early songs after blake's surgery. He found a diferent way to Sing those songs.

i was lucky enough to get in that show , dont get me wrong All Jawbreaker song are awesome but they only played from 24 hour and dear you?? was kinda bummed on the set list , some bivouac or unfun etc. woulda gave me chicken skin , you know the hard stuff, but beggers cant be choosers right

I will be shocked if Blake is able to even remotely sing in that belting style of Bivouac and Unfun... Singers who sang that way when they were young (Paul Westerberg, Bob Mould, etc.), they can't even attempt to muster the intensity and/or anger they had in their youth to put out that kind of force. Everyone mellows with age. It's really disappointing, obviously, but it's just the way it is! If Blake is able to sing that way at Riot Fest, I will be so happy! But I won't get my hopes up...
Kevin Murtagh - While it's a fun theory that everyone mellows with age and loses their youthful anger and intensity, I would suspect that a more likely culprit would be simple physiological deterioration of the vocal chords. People's bodies get old, and yes it sucks, but it doesn't necessarily make them any less angry or intense. And even if it did, I don't think that their singing changes because they are trying any less intensely. They just physically can't hit all of the same notes and cover the same range as they could when they were younger.

Is it just me or is the tempo on every song slower than even the album versions?
NOONE TOLD ME THIS WAS HAPPENING. I am nearly 40 have 4 kids and will probably be fighting with my old man the next 6 months because fuck everyTHING, this happened and I cannot sleep until I witness it, life be damned since they saved it anyway. And my god.. how effortless they made it look.
