Big Mahseer - indiaangling.com

A nice short film showing the catch and release of one of my favourite fish in the world, the Golden Mahseer in India. This footage was filmed in April 2013 during a short fishing trip on the Ramganga river. This fish weighed 24lb, it looked bigger in the water and fought like a fish of much bigger size but once weighed we were all shocked to find the weight of the fish was very low for its immense length and girth. The first run was so powerful and the fish nearly made it to the rapid downstream and around the corner, but we managed to get it under control after a minute or so. I also saw some very big fish during my trip that i would estimate around 50lb in weight and 5ft in length.
