Just bought one of these 3 weeks ago. Very nice ride. Added SP12 NCX suspension seat post works really well. He missed or didn't know you can change the number of assist levels to 3, 5, or 9 on the screen. Needs to be done in the settings. I also run mime at 10psi on the front and 12psi on the rear tire. Makes the steering less twitchy. I also had some nice panniers from an older Giant mountain bike which fit this one really nicely. Love the bike!!
Pardon my naivete, but is that big bar going from the seat down to the read axle a kind of crash bar to protect the machinery in that area. I love this bike, but the rear half looks very messy and not streamlined, plus having the battery located in a very old-style position IMO.
IN the UK, this bike is marketed as EFF product, I have been hunting down reviews on the later, came across your review by chance which has been a useful review, placing the bike high on my list.
Guys. Finally bought the RIZE mini bike a month and a half ago. NO REGRETS (YET). Total Spent $2,500CAD (+$300 for hydraulic brakes and 19.2ah battery. +$50 for assembly on pickup). So because I was lucky and live in Vancouver where the headquarters is, I got to call in ahead and tried the bike at their office. The customer rep Jay, went above and beyond to help me out, he even unlocked the speed limit for me :) I was pretty much sold after 10 minutes of testing. I bought on Friday afternoon, and the bike was ready for me Tuesday afternoon fully assembled and ready for pickup. No issues. Previously I had tested both the Rad Mini Step Thru white and black and now MY Rize Mini in Black. I'm not sure if the bikes I tested at RAD scaled down the sensitivity or speed for safety but it was slow going uphill although it made it. The Rad Mini also sort of slowly eases into full speed when throttling taking longer to reach full speed whatever that is. I think I hit 25-28km/hour only. I'm not sure if it could have went faster but it was my first time testing an e-bike and I didn't know better to ask the guy to unlock the speed. Was a shame because I did my research and I was literally ready to buy the bike, it does in my opinion still LOOK better visually than my RIZE bike. I kept test riding to give the RAD bike the benefit of the doubt until finally by the time I rode back to the store they were already closing. Unfortunately I never made it back. Fast forward to my Rize bike. The moment I tested the bike it was a monster. Fast & Fucking Furious. Unlocked it can go up to 45km. Solid Hydraulic brakes with suspension and light both front and back. The RAD may look prettier but the RIZE is as someone told me "more bike for the buck". I mean...19.2ah. I went out today with 100% battery and came home 2 hours later with 100% battery. Wtf. The ONLY thing I think this bike can do better at at it's price range is to allow for a mounting basket in the front of the bike as there is no attachment screw thing available for modding in the front. So I guess you can put one of those bags on the back rack or wear a backpack. RAD does accessories better than RIZE with more options but man those add-ons are expensive AF. Another thing I learned is when you buy a U Lock buy one that is LONGER because the bike tires they are fat man, and the average U lock is a tight fit around the bike tire and a pole. Overall, because of such a sick bike and such a great dude behind the customer service desk (Jay). I can't recommend Rize enough. Ball is in their hands I hope they don't drop it! Knocks on wood. PS. will update after more rides.
Hey Chiko. Finally a review that's current. Glad that you're loving the bike, man! After reviewing a lot of different fat-tire bikes, the RIZE MINI remains in my Top 3. But before I decide (and also to help others thinking about this bike), let us know what your thoughts are regarding the following: 1) There's no USB on the display. Would be great to have a power source nearby to charge a GPS device, or phone. Any suggestions? 2) The company seems fairly new. They even changed their name from SPARK, to RIZE within a year. Customer support is very important as you know - especially if you're buying online and physical accessibility is not practical. You seem to have hit it off great with a guy named Jay, but let us know what you're overall impressions are about the company and their responses to your questions, or concerns. 3) They assembled your bike for $50. That's great. But for many people who are purchasing online, they'll have to assemble it themselves. I asked RIZE how difficulty it was to assemble, and they simply said you just have to add the pedals and handlebar. It can't be that simple, especially if they're charging $50 to assemble it for you. Did you have any insights on that? 4) Is the battery lockable on the bike? 5) Any regrets not buying the RAD MINI? 6) New updates? Thanks, man.
Court says 63.4 lbs. but Spark says 66 lbs.! Who's right? Nice fat folder but I wonder about customer support from this company. As usual a very clear and detailed review from our premier review guy.
Another great, detailed video review by Court of EBR ! After seeing/reading on a lot of HQ folding 20" fat tire ebikes over several weeks, i think this SPARK BIKES MINI is so far the BEST overall (and with the best features for the price).... Some additional UPGRADES i would like to see as standard (which i wouldnt mind paying a bit extra for) are : an ELECTRIC HORN (louder/safer for pedestrians and traffic), a simple, vertical SUSPENSION SEATPOST, metallic-BLUE RIMS and choice of either a BRIGHT RED or BRIGHT GREEN accent on the F/R of frame (safer/easily seen in traffic and would give it a much more pleasing/attractive appearance).... A MAJOR practical addition for the purchaser to add would be a Portable Rear-Rack Bag (attaches to a rack by velcro straps), with a handle, multi-pockets, and two fold-out side PANNIER BAGS (for food market shopping, etc). A few different versions (named Rukey, CamGo, etc) are available online for around $30-$40. TOPEAK has a Quick-Release Rack Bag (with fold-out pannier bags) at over $100, but with TOP quality features (NOTE : for use on non-TOPEAK racks, their pricey optional rack adapter-plate is required for the QR feature).
I just bought a bike very similar to this one, main difference being mine has dual 750W motors and I've called the bike 'The Wolf' Wow wow wow what a ride or should I say what a glide !!
Tell me about the battery. I'm curious about mini electrics but I wanna know how long the batteries last. I mean their life span. Does the effect and life span go down? How long until I have to replace the battery?
My husband and I bought 2 of the Bolts about 9 months ago. Then afterwards we heard they were being rebrands as Rize Bikes. We loved the bikes however my husband noticed his chain was skipping. Upon inspection he has discovered that the rear sprockets on both of our bikes are wearing down. We have tried to find out were we can get new ones or repairs. No one touches them! I have 345km and he has 1230km on his bike. Totally road and city driving. There is no reason why the metal should be wearing. Anyone have suggestions.

id love to know how well a 500w motor would work with a 240lb rider with typical load of extra 30-40lbs in my bag that i wear i have a 1000w Direct drive kid right now that the battery is dead on
I just picked one up used yesterday and I'm north of 350lbs myself. It still has pep and had no problems luggin me around. Hills are a bit more of a challenge on just the throttle and of course range will suffer due to the extra weight. But all in all I'm really enjoying it. I still have to really put it through it's paces but I expect good things!!
Better deal than the RAD Mini as RAD charges extra for the fenders and rear rack which can add up to $240 - for a RAD bike which is already $400 more. So for an equivalent RAD Mini it cost $640 (CDN) more than this bike.
I made the same calculation so the Spark Blade is what I am going with instead of the RAD Mini. Also the Spark Blade can be unlocked with code to use the full 750w motor vs governed to 500w
@@hamtataclone I've looked at the scorpion but shipping to Canada would be problematic. How did you find spark as a company? Any issues? Would you recommend them?

Very interesting, how would rate this in comparison to the alterego bikes velovillain sport 750 ? I like that this bike has hydraulic brakes, a bigger battery ( those are optional I know) and costs less, but wonder if it's lacking something significant because of that lower price, or maybe alter ego bikes is just being a bit more greedy :/
Does anyone know if this company is still in business? Was going to buy the Radmini, bit this spark bike is what I've been looking for with all the specs. There US website is all sold out with no in stock dates only promises of future pre orders. Canada website is fully stocked. It's a shame if they did go under
It seems they have decided they can't supply the US market currently, might have something to do with tariffs and volume from China into America; MATE-X ran into the same issue and had to move production to Taiwan, it seems both America and the EU have put tariffs on Ebikes out of China, which is really stupid because we have no mass production ability for a sector that is exploding. You could always email them, they answered me within 48 hrs.
@@ProffesorBlue They told me through email that their US location has not opened up yet. And that it will open in October and then they will be able to take pre orders then. When I asked through Facebook Messenger if i could order through the Canadian website they ask for my info and never responded back. But your info makes alot more sense. Thank you for the facts mate
They are in business in Canada. Talked to them 2 weeks ago about ordering a Spark Blade. For the money it was a better deal in Canada as Rad starts at $1999 canadian for the rad mini but then you have to buy fenders etc which spark includes
What is the collar on this that keeps the bikeseat post in place? I just popped mine to pieces and am trying hard to see how to assemble it back together.
im about to buy my first fat tire ebike and ive got two contenders, this is now my third. what, in your opinion is better, rad mini, addmotor motan m 140 or this bike.. because this bike seems so great for the price, but i keep thinking the rad mini is the best electric fat folding bike right now for its price. any opinion would be great thank you.
Kenzie-Anne Grant. The best value, in a 20” folding fat tire bike, is the Lectric XP. If ordered before July 1, the price is $899. Free shipping. Arrives completely assembled. Ready to ride after a battery charge. www.lectricbikes.com. We ordered 2 bikes to travel with our RV. We are so excited! Check them out....and call them (Robby, Levi) on the phone. They will happily answer any questions.
@@anneheffernan3988 that is not a contender because of the parts, lack of reviews and access easily for replacement parts should I need one. I have previously had an electric bike for 6 years. It was, at the time, cheap but decent but they again had lack of parts, replacing parts, customer service ect. I'm never doing that again. I've seen some reviews for lectric and I personally don't like the frame and some features. My question was for the three bikes I've listed. Thank you tho
@@mikeb4471 don't be rude. I asked a question about the bike they are talking about and others they have reviewed. I'm sorry I want to spend my money on one of the three I've listed. Why do u care.
There's sum folding ebikes with fat tires on amazon with prices around 800/900 usd. I was looking on this Ecotric. 36v, 500w. But can't really find any good UA-cam reviews. Do you know the brand? I'm looking for a bike to take on camping trips and drive at the beach. 800/900usd it's just right for me. Can you help?
Take care. Some of the very cheap ones have lead batteries which are crap. And ALL of these fatty folding bikes only come with a cadence sensor not a proper torque sensor.
Nuno, if lowest price is a high priority, the high-quality and similar LECTRIC XP has 500w motor / 48v battery, all for $899 on pre-order (but price goes up soon after).
I have an Ecotric Paid less because I picked up at the warehouse. However I like it! And with the extra money I saved I could buy upgrades for alot less. Only con so far is the low setting is still too powerful. So far I've had it for 3 weeks. Pretty solid performance and distance so far.
ScubaStevee62 yes there are a few but I prefer Court’s videos. He provides much more information and really knows what he’s talking about! I also just really enjoy his style of video/review.
Seen the mate x has some nice specs but but you can’t beat the price of the xp, that’s why I like the xp, best value/features for the price on the ebike market in my opinion!
Yeah it sounds good on paper. But when you look at the based model (13AH), its basically the same spec and price as the Voltbike mariner. Might as well get the marine from a company that has a long history.
Andy Lau That’s originally what I was thinking but several reasons why I’ll probably go for this one... -sealed cadence -mounting for bottle cage -rapid fire shifter -puncture resistant tires -better gearing -dual rear light -less dorky (imo) bell -and of course optional 17a/hydraulic brakes which I’ll spring for Add in free shipping and this is the better choice over mariner imo
@@rod22lt Hey rod22It. Got a few questions about the RIZE MINI (assuming you've purchased one by now). 1) How was your customer service experience with the company - especially your impressions about their responses to any questions, or concerns, you may have had. I'm going to assume you purchased the bike online and they shipped to you. 2) There's no USB on the display. Would be great to have a power source nearby to charge a GPS device, or phone. Any suggestions? 3) For many people who purchase online, they will have to assemble the bike themselves. I asked RIZE how difficulty it was to assemble the MINI, and they simply said you just have to add the pedals and handlebar. How difficult (really) was the assembly? Any particular tools you recommend? 4) Is the battery lockable while in the bike? 5) Any updates? Thanks, man.
@Ian Mangham I've tried I really only need them for the back the tires in the wheels cuz the front has a motor in it and it's pretty well stable but I just need the bigger ones for the back
I’m local and asked if picked up bikes are fully assembled. Answer was no. Seems like Voltbike would be a better option given they check their bikes before going out. I don’t think sparks bike does that. However their specs are better.
Konea Konea It seems they do check the bikes. This is what the website said “After thoroughly testing your bike and making sure it's flawless, we carefully pack your bike and ensure it's well sealed and protected with layers of foam and other protective material.”
Anyone with any info would be greatly appreciated. There IG account is down, there Facebook last post was june 28th. There entire US website is sold out with no word on in stock items. Did anyone purchase this bike and have any info. Thanks in advance
"Sans" 3 amp charger, maybe like my last Sony phone that came with a 500 milliamp one, a 10-socket smart charger cost me only about $20 off Ebay and it has multiple 3.5, 2.4 and 1 amp outputs 🤔
They buy these bikes from Alibabadotcom where they can also request for the sellers to print whatever names on each bike - and they are ‘makers’ or founders of bikes?
On their website there is no sizing chart or stand over height & the dimensions are mostly metric except for wheels & folded. You didn't mention customer service in this review, like you did for RAD. I'm a new sub & only seen about a dozen of your reviews...seems that their is some bias on your reviews, you only cover most of the same items. Important things like customer service should be in every review. Also You should have a regular size man working with you .
I wish it had a USB charging port but this particular model does not have it :( I think it’s time for bikes to have a 3-spoke magnesium alloy rim that does not need occasional spoke tuning.
Because it is the same. Just with a little different specs to differentiate from the other versions of this same bike. They are all imported from the same factories and have different brand stickers slapped on.
It's good in that you get it cheaply (except the real price is more like $1000-1200, but compared to $2000 bikes, it's still cheap at 1,6k and with probably somewhat better warranty and support), depending on how much profits the re-sellers, like Spark Bikes want to add on top of the chinese factory price. It's bad when most of these re-sellers try to keep it a secret that they all come from the same factories in China.
This bike shows up under many brand names. It seems to be a generic chinese model which different companies order with their own badge engineering. Which is not a bad thing per se.
xxgg who cares if they are the same ??? are you trying to be a ebike fashionista with a uniquely designed frame etc - try to get your head in the loop of quality for the bucks which this bike and others like it have !
You said at 18:56 actually you can't use the throttle then at 19:05 you said the throttle won't activate at this level, but funny it wanted to take off at 16:54 from a stand still where you actually said throttle was hot , do you know what you're talking about?.... ignore me, I'm just being a butt, can't help myself!!!!just jealous I can't make money for having fun like you,...........................................................peace
1. looks a bit different. Mate-X battery placement in the frame is a better idea. 2. You can buy this right now. BTW: If you live in the EU and want it in a legal configuration aka Pedelec, look for TUCANO.
Some UA-cam presentation suggestions: Eliminate "like" as a rhetorical filler; something IS or IS Not. Nothing is Like. Eliminate the hand.waving. Use a pointer or simply cite the object you are critiquing. Use a (? better quality) clip-on microphone. And, for God's sake, WRITE out a CheckList that you then use as a Guide to prevent Rambling. Either be Professional or get off the "stage." Please.
Here's some positive things about Court. He doesn't mumble. He is quite thorough in his reviews. He's a gentleman. He has enthusiasm for his work. He provides a great service to many people including e bikers. When he tosses in a few filler words here and there, that' s fine with me. And when he waves his hands around, I can handle that. He also asks for feedback. In the end, it's HIS show,HIS style, and HIS dime, but FREE for us viewers. Don't like it? Then as my sis- in- law says," BAG IT"!

HVe you looked at the Havoc Adrenalized by Fabulous E Bikes?
What is the collar on this that keeps the bikeseat post in place? I just popped mine to pieces and am trying hard to see how to assemble it back together.
I can't find this bike anywhere on the internet. Did they discontinue it?
Hey where can I purchase one of these they look pretty good.
I have a very similar bike called EFF Sport, are they the same bike?
FINALLY SPARK BIKES! 🤘🏼
Did not see a review on the motor. Could you elaborate here
Why don't you ever do Emmo bike reviews? I have the Emmo VGO would love to hear your take on it!
im about to buy my first fat tire ebike and ive got two contenders, this is now my third. what, in your opinion is better, rad mini, addmotor motan m 140 or this bike.. because this bike seems so great for the price, but i keep thinking the rad mini is the best electric fat folding bike right now for its price. any opinion would be great thank you.
Anne Heffernan agree! We did the same thing. One white, one black!
Anne Heffernan poor girl spending more money on a bike that’s the same if not worse than the lectric lol
@@mikeb4471 don't be rude. I asked a question about the bike they are talking about and others they have reviewed. I'm sorry I want to spend my money on one of the three I've listed. Why do u care.
Any links on where and how to buy 2 of these?
Has Spark Bikes gone out of business? Even their Canadian websites are offline! Where can I buy one of these in Canada?
Barry Hayes
Thanks so much!
How would you rate these against the rad mini?
Where IS the Auxiliary Battery Connection For Extended Range located on this bike?
I have an Ecotric
Paid less because I picked up at the warehouse.
However I like it!
And with the extra money I saved I could buy upgrades for alot less.
Only con so far is the low setting is still too powerful.
So far I've had it for 3 weeks.
Pretty solid performance and distance so far.
Very efficient hybrid powertrain no license required zero emission moped- 1970s ERA
this sure looks like a great city bike, and nice price .
Please review their newest bike the Spark Bikes Blade.
This bike is cool. I hope you do a review on Spark Bike Blade too.
YES, THIS!!!
@@erwinarguna4077 Indeed, I was agreeing with your comment regarding wanting them reviewing the Blade to, which appears to be another awesome bike.
ih302 Cool!!!
Go cycle gxi when its released. Also. Didnt hear the max speed on this. How fast can it go? Maybe i missed it.
top speed is 32Kmh
Shares a lot with the Voltbike Mariner, even in the name Spark Bikes, very similar.
how many kilometres per charge?
Scrippslarry where did you see that? We have it in us??
Let’s see the Lectric XP!!
Came to this video just to comment this, glad I'm not the only one!
There are already several reviews out there on the XP.
Random Gabe I’ve already ordered mine! Im super excited and would really like to see an in depth review as well!
What is their website to purchase this bike?
Does this unit have a torque based sensor p.a.?
Yeah it sounds good on paper. But when you look at the based model (13AH), its basically the same spec and price as the Voltbike mariner. Might as well get the marine from a company that has a long history.
Andy Lau That’s originally what I was thinking but several reasons why I’ll probably go for this one...
-sealed cadence
-mounting for bottle cage
-rapid fire shifter
-puncture resistant tires
-better gearing
-dual rear light
-less dorky (imo) bell
-and of course optional 17a/hydraulic brakes which I’ll spring for
Add in free shipping and this is the better choice over mariner imo

Hey rod22It.
Does anyone know if this bike is heavy to carry upstairs if you live in a city apartment?
What are the folded dimensions?
Who makes the motor?
Where would I get a set of those wheels and tires for a 24in three wheel trike
@Ian Mangham I've tried I really only need them for the back the tires in the wheels cuz the front has a motor in it and it's pretty well stable but I just need the bigger ones for the back
@Ian Mangham I'd send you a picture of the bike but I'm not sure how to do that yet
I hope he reviews the 2019 wing fatty ebike soon
I’m local and asked if picked up bikes are fully assembled. Answer was no. Seems like Voltbike would be a better option given they check their bikes before going out. I don’t think sparks bike does that. However their specs are better.
Konea Konea It seems they do check the bikes. This is what the website said “After thoroughly testing your bike and making sure it's flawless, we carefully pack your bike and ensure it's well sealed and protected with layers of foam and other protective material.”
Look gorgeous...
Anyone with any info would be greatly appreciated. There IG account is down, there Facebook last post was june 28th. There entire US website is sold out with no word on in stock items. Did anyone purchase this bike and have any info. Thanks in advance
@@hamtataclone I'm Riding Rad lol Thanks
Bro how to buy this e cycle pls inform me pls pls
Was wo dering the same. There us website is all gone even accessories. Dont know of they went out of business
Do the Blade
"Sans" 3 amp charger, maybe like my last Sony phone that came with a 500 milliamp one, a 10-socket smart charger cost me only about $20 off Ebay and it has multiple 3.5, 2.4 and 1 amp outputs 🤔
It would be nice if you can review the Rawbike from Sweden simular to this bike. 🙂
Same factory, same bike.
so where or how do i order this bike?
Company changed its name to Rize. They have the Rize mini now.
i cant find this bike online? does anyone know why?
rizebikes.ca/products/mini rebranded to “Rize bikes”
This bike isn't original to sparkbikes, found the exact same bike on rize bikes website, just with their own rize branding
Same company. Sparks bikes is now Rize.
No such thing as 'free shipping'. The shipping cost is part of the price if it is not a separate charge.
They buy these bikes from Alibabadotcom where they can also request for the sellers to print whatever names on each bike - and they are ‘makers’ or founders of bikes?
What's 300.$ ?
Mabe the battery
Kinda Voltbike Mariner
On their website there is no sizing chart or stand over height & the dimensions are mostly metric except for wheels & folded. You didn't mention customer service in this review, like you did for RAD. I'm a new sub & only seen about a dozen of your reviews...seems that their is some bias on your reviews, you only cover most of the same items. Important things like customer service should be in every review. Also You should have a regular size man working with you .
I just keep my keychain on the bike it’s hits my leg once in a while I’m driving but that’s OK
I wish it had a USB charging port but this particular model does not have it :(
I think it’s time for bikes to have a 3-spoke magnesium alloy rim that does not need occasional spoke tuning.
It looks the same as all the rest of the China bikes in this class.
Because it is the same. Just with a little different specs to differentiate from the other versions of this same bike. They are all imported from the same factories and have different brand stickers slapped on.
Is that bad or good?
@@justSTUMBLEDupon Lol, I have no idea!
Mark, by "looks the same" did you mean "looks similar to" ? "same" basically means identical.
Almost no support. My bike is dead for more than 2 month now, still waiting
A Mini? What happened to it?
@@barryhayes7164 Not a mini, the Spark City.
The bad news is about the very slow support if you have problem(s).
@@32goglu What went wrong with your bike?
@@barryhayes7164 batterie is full but LCD Display indicate empty.
So, no motor.
Electricity circulate every where.
looks not bad, except handles and display
My gosh, this my AddMotor m150p7 just painted all black. Great review but these bikes are just copying each other.
This bike shows up under many brand names. It seems to be a generic chinese model which different companies order with their own badge engineering. Which is not a bad thing per se.
They come from the same factories in China. You just order a container and tell them what sticker to put on.
What's the Max speed. At least put this in the description sheesh.
I believe they have run out of business. I cannot find them on internet.
They changed their name to Rize Bikes
@@barryhayes7164 thanks Barry! I really liked this bike but when I could not find them on internet , I almost couldn't believe.

😍
So many e-bikes out there with same/similar fram... just different wheels and such only.
Pass!
I think this is great. Let the people have an option better than Fracking gasoline.
xxgg who cares if they are the same ??? are you trying to be a ebike fashionista with a uniquely designed frame etc - try to get your head in the loop of quality for the bucks which this bike and others like it have !
It’s not as nice looking as the Rad mini, but it offers more.
vs Mate X?
1. looks a bit different. Mate-X battery placement in the frame is a better idea.
2. You can buy this right now.
BTW: If you live in the EU and want it in a legal configuration aka Pedelec, look for TUCANO.

This bike looks like the Radmini.... I don't see a difference. Either way I'm getting 1 of them. #Facts
nesito.una.asi
It's a non original copy of Voltbike Mariner. Booooooo.
Not quite the same. The volt has the cables routed internal to the frame. Not a great idea in a folding bike IMO.

Some UA-cam presentation suggestions:
Eliminate "like" as a rhetorical filler; something IS or IS Not.
