Congrats Shark, you and your family deserve all the success you get. Best of luck for the gold cup. It will be a magic day for everybody if you and Hewick can pull that off.
This rather sums up what the horseracing world outside England & Ireland think of jumps racing. I'm glad i followed NH racing from the late sixties to the Michael Dickinson year's.
@@glossalth He was hired by Robert Sangster to train at Manton. The gallops were apparently not ready. It was a short lived adventure. He quit and went to America where he had some success over there. A horse called Da Hoss won a couple of Breeders Cup races.
Wasn't aware there was any jumps racing in the US so usually have no interest but had to watch this when I saw it. What tiny bit of American racing I have seen over the years, all the tracks seem to be left handed, is this the case or are there right handed tracks there?
I love a story of an underdog. On a separate note, in what universe does this race constitute a " Grand national " ? I don't see any scary fences such as the Chair, Beeches Brook or Canal Turn, not to mention the race is lacking around 40 other horses and a course distance of around 4.5 miles. If you don't believe me, then look at the proper Grand National. It's been run since 1839.
To be fair, the Welsh, Scottish, Irish & Midlands Nationals are run over standard NH fences, just over longer distances - this looks like a slightly larger Point-to-Point meeting (and, it must be remembered, NH in the USA only operates at a low level compared to flat racing so this would be, in their eyes, a "big" race).
I backed him when he won the bet 365 at Sandown and everytime since, I'll do him each way for the gold cup but listening to the Shark over the weekend he didn't sound confident he'll get the ground he likes? It looks like he'll be kept fresh for Aintree? What a bargain bought for €850 and has returned €350,000 Not bad at all😎 There's hope for us all but couldn't of happened to a nicer man in the shrewd Shark👍☘
Two things here why only 9 runners in a big race like that ,and the Shark gets all the praise(and why not ),but the jockey gave that horse a peach of a ride, roll on Cheltenham.

Well done Shark. Talk about a bargain buy for 800 quid, where else would you get the value like Goresbridge, where dreams are made!

Shark is an absolute master of training National Hunt horses. If I ever brought a jumping type its going to Shark
Surely Gold Cup bound now. He’s top class. Not a strong race this but for the prize money a great little pick up.

Grand national my arse, more like the 4:50 at Ludlow.
NH racing in America is near non existent. This is as good as it gets. The winner Hewick is a top class horse however with a rating of 169.
Ah come on now,you have to be in to win it,a nice pot of $160 thousand,to the winner,it cost the Shark $30 thousand to get there ,
Well done shark
