Kyle, you learned this by ear? Wow, you must've spent a lot of time playing piano when you were young to get that song down with the nuances and dynamics that are usually used by lounge pianists. I also play by ear, but don't have the feel for the piano like you do...yet...! I just started playing again after I retired as a drummer for local cover and original bands, and I'm scouring UA-cam looking for tutorials and players like yourself to learn from. Any tips you can give your fans? ( Stay in school, Say your prayers? LOL!) I, for one, would love advice from someone who can play Elton so effortlessly. So if there were one thing you would recommend to your fellow pianists, what would it be?
Haha thank you for the excellent compliment! I used to be, in fact, a "lounge pianist" as you call it haha. Most of my life I played piano professionally so I've had lots of time to develop my specific sound. The one thing I would recommend is to play everything as if you wrote it, with authority. Once you do that, you can transcend the notes and make it your own.
