The Mealthy Crisp Lid turns your Instant Pot into an AIR FRYER!
Today I'm trying the Mealthy CrispLid to make Southern fried chicken in my Instant Pot. This crisp lid for Instant pot, Mealthy pot and most other 6 or 8 quart electric pressure cookers is a real GAME CHANGER! I'll be using the Instant Pot as an air fryer, adding in my coated, seasoned chicken and attaching the Mealthy Crisp Lid to cook the chicken

Instructions
1 whole chicken cut into pieces
Season it with my seasoned salt blend
Beat 1 egg with 1 cup of milk and the juice of 1/2 a lemon
Blend 1 cup of flour with 1/2 a cup of cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of seasoned salt
Dip the chicken in the milk mixture
Dredge the chicken in flour
Brush or spray the chicken with oil
Set the Mealthy Crisplid to 350
Air fry the chicken for about 12 minutes per side

Ma'am, if you want to experiment a bit, get yourself a trivet with just enough framework that the pieces of chicken/whatever won't fall through to the bottom. Less contact between food and the supporting utensil, more air movement around more exposed food surface, and less metal cooking surface (a lot further apart) to clean afterwards.
Have boiling water ready to soak basket for a few minutes. Crusty bits should come right off. However, the fryer parchment circles sound good too.

I love the lighter coconut oil taste. It's available at Walmart, too, so it's easy to get hold of... also, coconut oil has a higher smoke temp than the olive oil version. Glad I could help! (:

In fact, can be used on stove top pressure cooker. Has to be stainless steel, additionally no non stick
Let pressure cooker cool off. Remove pressure cooker from stove top follow directions

Basket: spray or paper towel & oil before use. But the Parchment is a great idea! Did not/could not see the bottom of the IP liner after cooking. How was that clean-up? Perhaps a lining of foil would keep the bottom of the liner clean.
I use the perforated parchment circles; one in the basket and one on the bottom of the IP pot. Cleanup is easy.

Great tutorial and thank you for it. I'm new to frying. The question that I have, the pieces of chicken that you took the temperature of that was over 200 degrees, were those pieces over cooked and dry when eating them? I know that the internal temperature of chicken needs to be cooked to at least 165. Just a question.
I grill my chicken to around 200°. Still tender and juicy.

I cant get this right at this time. Because I already have two airfryers. I do have an ip that's just waiting on it though lol .If I only had 50 bucks to spare on it .I was waiting on the taste test .Ty alot I'm having left over ip Hawaiian chicken tonight. But now I just want airfryer chicken lol .Yes the struggle is real lolol .No way im Cooking it though, gonna eat leftovers .

I would have liked to have seen a close-up of how the fried chicken actually turned out. Seeing all that steam when you lifted the lid, I suspect that the coating wasn't all that crisp.
Hmmmm, I SAW a close-up of the crispy chicken at the end!!! Don't know what you are talking about, maybe try watching the video all the way to the END.

It did a few times to regulate the temperature, yes.
Anybody ever try to cook a steak in the mealthy?
