  • See the Plaza Central in Antigua, Guatemala - a meeting place packed with festive activities, artisans, food stands, colonial architecture, and all that makes a true Spanish-speaking place in the Americas. I went to Guatemala to visit some Spanish schools that have one-on-one Spanish programs. This is one of the first videos, in which you will be introduced to my guide, who tells us what places I will visit in Guatemala, and gives us some historic details about Antigua.

I have been Plaza Central in Antigua many times in the last fifteen years. I have many friends in Guatemala City and San Juan La Laguna. I'm going back in November. I love that little country.

I just got back from Guatemala for the first time a few weeks ago. My partner’s family is from Salcajá, a town outside of Xela, We started our trip in Antigua, where we went to a wedding in one of the ruins. It was absolutely beautiful. Then we went to Lake Atitlan, and took a boat to San Juan which was amazing. My partner practically knew everyone in Salcajá, we ran into so many of his relatives on the streets! Everyone was so welcoming and kind to me. I am working on becoming fluent in Spanish so I can speak with my partner’s family and other locals easier 😊

Thank You so much for all you do to help so many people around the world. Through the Years You have taught us all about language, Culture, and a Better way to Improve our lives. You teach us much more about language and words but You REACH INSIDE us all in such a way that Communication becomes a way of Love. Sometimes it's easy to look at all your 1M plus Followers but what is the Truth is the 10M of those extra people who are Touched by your Kindness. You have built a School with No Walls or Roof but the Structure and Foundation is Built with a Heart filled with Love Felt Around the World ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

That video was fun! I was in Antigua earlier this year for 2 weeks -- and sat in that same park talking to the Mayan vendors in Spanish. I then paid them for the mini-lesson.😁

Antigua, nice city but expensive and touristy. I like Guate better.
Ana, one of those microphones that you stick on to your collar would be very helpful you could both be talking naturally without constantly exchanging one.

Can I say "hay muchas cosas sangronas en la vida" (there are many annoying things in life) or is sangrona only used to describe people?
