- Learn to express your opinion in Spanish just like native Spanish speakers do. In Spanish, there is a grammatical difference between affirmative and negative sentences with the verb "creer". Where do you use the subjunctive, in affirmative or in negative sentences? In this lesson you will learn when and how to use the verb "creer" and when and why the verb that follows may be in subjunctive. So, for instance an affirmative sentence goes like this: "Creo que va a llover" but the negative sentence needs a subjunctive: "No creo que llueva". In this lesson you will also learn to correctly express opinions that you are sure of and opinions you are unsure of, for which you would use the Spanish subjunctive: "Estoy segura de que David viene mañana", "I am sure David comes tomorrow" and its counterpart "No estoy segura de que David venga mañana, "I am not sure David is coming tomorrow. It seems difficult but it is not, mark me, just watch my lesson and see for yourself that it is simple, easy, and important to learn this structure in Spanish. And remember to watch my lesson about the differences between the verb "creer" and "pensar" when you are expressing your opinion in Spanish. Remember that "creer" is a more handy verb when expressing simple, plain opinions. "Pensar" would be a verb used for let's say... deeper thoughts.
You may want to watch my lesson about the differences between the verb "pensar" and "creer" either before or after this lesson:

In Spanish, subjunctive is how you indicate something that hasn't happened may happen, may have happened(if things had been otherwise) , or will happen(if things change).
The conditional tense only indicates something may or may not happen though.
The indicative tense indicates something does/did/will happen for certain.
I think of the subjunctive as a hypothetical, an idea that doesn't really exist in time. I wish I could win the lottery. "winning the lottery" is a concept one is thinking about, not a particular event. A wish or a desire is a well known use of the subjunctive in Spanish, the examples in this lesson are a little trickier for me. "Creo que..." still indicates something even if you're fudging how sure you are about it, not believing something will happen guess turns it into a hypothetical, you're turning it into a concept that's not going to exist in real time. I'm also kind of wondering about her future example too, "No creo que Llegará tarde" why doesn't that become subjunctivo futuro also? ie, llegare? it becomes something like "I don't believe he is arriving late" as opposed to "will be arriving late"? Learn it the way she teaches it I guess.
@@TheJhtlag I think that "no creo que llegara..." means that you don't have to imagine a different scenario than what's already going down. But for the subjunctive, maybe "En qué no estará un autobús nadie estuviera aquí mañana."?
