Any reprogramming necessary to install the replacement airbag, obtained used from salvage vehicle? Also any info out there on replacing the passenger side airbag? Thanks!
the right side lock releases the right and bottom lock and the left releases only the left one. I had a hard time removing them carefully. i hope it helps.
Thanks for sharing. Make sure to disconnect the battery before working on the airbag but also keep the steering wheel unlocked. Another great guide with great tips " YOUCANIC VW Driver Airbag Removal" Look it up on google. It has step by step instructions with video and pictures.

you used a flat head or a philips screw driver?
could you please try to record a video where you put the inflated bag and remove it?
you can use anything long and strong enough to push on release springs ,press towards center of airbag .Cheers

I tried to remove the airbag, the lock look like it was released. But i am unable to pull out the airbag. Could you please help me on this.
