Excellent video. 1 tip I have for doing carpet work is to heat up an awl or Phillips screw driver and using it to put a hole in the carpet for bolt holes.
@@haffrods7055 I was just commenting not on your choice, which looks great, btw, but to your statement about the loop carpet, which I believe came out with the 57 model year. I actually prefer the cute pile to the loop. Had that in a 56 and didn't care for it. The Daytona Weave I got was nice, but two pieces with the gap in between as you described, which was fine for me. I actually want the car to be as much like orginal as possible, warts and all. But I certainly can appreciate the car you are building. That things gonna be gorgeous!
This guy has helped so very much and I've only had my 55 since Dec 2020. I too am on a budget!
I know it's kinda off topic but do anyone know a good place to watch new tv shows online ?
Great video I'm working on a 56 hard top this was great advice

Let me give you some advice you buy a jiffy steamer if you're in the cold weather a jiffy steamer works magic
Do you have a video of you skewing it down?
Very helpful tips, can you use the heat gun to slightly reshape the carpet?i modified the floor pan shape in order to mount bucket seats
Yes Phil. It will contour a bit
Wear can I get one of those covers
I can't find a one-piece, molded, cut-pile carpet anywhere. Where did you get it?
Ecklers I think
Daytona Weave would be original for 55.
Yes it is but could not afford it

@@thomasparker5208 I had to research this. There was loop and Daytona carpet in 55 cars. The Daytona was an option.
