Don't let this be the last Eddy Grant song you hear. He has many classics and under the radar great songs! One of the more underrated multi-talented musicians of our time.
My gods but you got that right. I actually told him that I'd lost track of him after "Romancing the Stone", but I'm catching up fast, and I really love "Plaisance". He said thank you, and to keep enjoying his music. I'm also totally into Ringbang.
@@ricardokaka8 The Struggle, living on the front line, Walking on Sunshine, give me hope Joanna, Do You Feel My Love, rock you good, It's All in You.. and my personal favorite, I Walk Alone Tonight
My favorite part of this bassline is you can actually hear it without blowing out your speakers at a proper volume (cranked!) because either it's mixed out or has such heavy sub bass it's all you can hear.
I'm 32 years old, grew up watching Romancing the Stone on cable with my Grampa (RIP) in the late-90s/early-2000s, but never knew this song existed. Watching this late at night, I instantly became a fan! Timeless. What an epic musician!
Ikr, babe? A shame this didn't get the deserved recognition "Electric Avenue" got. I thank this song might have been little before it's time (in example the Prince era).
Я тоже в 84году , служил на границе взяли контрабанду 7 ,5 тысяч пластинок жёлтые винилы в том числе и пластинка Eddie Grande , брали кому что попало , на заставе дискотека полгода не прекращалась . 👍
I've been obsessed with this song since I first heard it in the 80s. Recently I've been discovering and exploring Mr. Grant's career. "Romancing the Stone" actually THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG. But I've been analysing the songs too. And what I think is, first and foremost, Mr. Grant is a wizard of the ostinato. He's a genius, in the same sense as Freddie Mercury, he just doesn't have the same exposure. His lyrics are powerful, his arranging is innovative and flawless, and his recordings are just superb all the way around. I don't really care for guitar solos, normally, but the one between the verses in this one makes me feel like my soul is flying. And, as for guitar work, it actually seems like he's doing a duet between voice and guitar. AND I LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT. Ringbang For Life Ringbang Is Life.
I'm romancing the stone Never leaving your poor heart alone Every night and every day Gonna love the hurting away I'm romancing the stone Never leaving your poor heart alone Every night and every day Gonna love the heartache away Tonight, tonight I'm falling where the peaceful waters flow Where the unicorn's the last one at the water hole I have found a love so precious like an emerald so bold It's a firelight escaping from the jeweller's hold. I'm romancing the stone Never leaving your poor heart alone Every night and every day Gonna love the hurting away I'm romancing the stone Never leaving your poor heart alone Every night and every day Gonna love the heartache away I'm romancing the stone Never leaving your poor heart alone Every night and every day Gonna love the hurting away I'm romancing the stone Never leaving your poor heart alone Every night and every day Gonna love the heartache away Oh and in the heat of rapture when I feel the cold winds blow Through the broken glass I'll see at last the sweet desire in you I will climb up on my pulpit and I'll preach a sermon you On the mountain roads in Harlem feel my jeweller's hold. I'm romancing the stone Never leaving your poor heart alone Every night and every day Gonna love the hurting away I'm romancing the stone Never leaving your poor heart alone Every night and every day Gonna love the heartache away
Super rola de los 80,s. Ahora tengo 56 años y me encanta esta cancion. Ke tiempos tan bellos cuando ivamos a la disco. Me encanta bailar, toda mi vida he bailado. Lamentablemente, ahora m estoy recuperando de una fractura de tibia y perone. Ruego a Dios volver a caminar muy pronto y si es posible, volver a bailar. Ke viva la musica!!!
seen in concert, 1985 in Zagreb, Croatia, Europe, one of best concerts in my life, almost 17000 spectators, excellent, THE ONE AND THE ONLY EDDY, thank you
I will never understand how this song got glossed over when the film was released. I first heard it and saw the video for it when PBS had a music videos for kids program, with subtitles so they could read the lyrics. I had actually seen the film (courtesy of my Mom who had rented it on VHS) and so I was confused to hear this song and see a video for it. My Mom said she had never heard the song and said that "it was probably somebody trying to cash in on the movie". But when I brought it up to my Mom's best friend, she told me it was linked to the movie but that the studio had taken a pass on including it. That's a shame. This is a fantastic 80's soundtrack song and just as good, if not better, than Billy Ocean's "When the Going Gets Tough" from the sequel, "The Jewel of the Nile" which, ironically, was the saving grace of that inferior sequel.

only heard a few of his songs till recently he is very good and has some catchy songs
I'm back listening to this on loop - and I keep repeating the guitar solos at 1:45 and 3:35. Just can't get enough.
Timeless baseline. I wish it would never end. A dance classic.

Still rocking after all these decades. Just a great song!
My all time favourite. Never get tired of this one.

14/10. ❤ thank you Eddy !
Four decades ago this rap/reggae tune appeared on the scene. It was just as appealing as the movie that it came from!
Love this song❤
What a wonderful song!! How I'd love to go back in time to those wonderful years (the 80s)
Can listen to this song for hours over and over again
The songs a 💣 still sounds great on the cusp of 2024. LOOP it for a couple of 3/4 hours. 😊
Superb 80's anthem ❤
Toujours bon pour les oreilles eddy grant👍😊
Happy to find this extra-long version. The song had no business NOT being at #1!
Agreed. This is a good song.
That guitar at 1:45 gets me every time! Then I repeat it...and repeat...and repeat...lol. Just freaking soars...
Yes, that's a classic. So is the guitar at 3:35.
Word, he can shred like nobody’s business, can write an accessible pop hook in his sleep, and he never gets the props he so rightly deserves! Peace.
WHAT A CLASSIC!!! Just as great then as now and still danceable!!! Loved the movie. The don't make hits like this anymore!
Первый раз услышал эту песню в 1985 году и вот снова в 2021 28 декабря .... но расширенную версию .... 👍👍👏👏👏✊✊ --- КЛАСС !!!

El mejor solo de guitarra 🎸
I will never comprehend how this didn't get into the movie, save for a barely audible 2 seconds at Juan's house. You know...the bell maker.

Why do we ask for more of reactivity for this song singing alone with the properties of relationship.
