I totally feel that desire to go back to when I was learning and everything was new and exciting. Being experienced has it's advantages, of course, but those early days are hard to beat.
I haven't yet bought a drone, but I remember those flitetest days. I remember the tricopter builds that David made and how Peter's crazy builds stood out. I actually revisited in 2016 the idea of building a drone, and those videos had been restricted for some reason at that point. Maybe they are still today
REBUILD THIS QUAD WITH ALL NEW STUFF!!!!! Basically "I rebuilt my first quad ever with todays newest FPV tech - VTX, motors, etc. - and see how it flies"
Do you remember the days before NAZE32 FC's? Still have one of my original NAZE32 FC's installed in an early quad I built. Tried to fly it again recently, an absolute mess, how times have changed.
I didnt get into quads to like 7 years ago.. back in thr kk2 days i was all about tricopters.. and honestly they may have flew better back then then quads did
These were the best of times. Also my first build. Still have it. Still fly it.
Some day I'm going to make a wooden frame. I just don't know if I'm going to build and fly it. 😬
Do it!
Start with the frame and the motors. The rest should fall into place like a puzzle. Get the borders done first. 😉
@@MadDragon75 This is the way.

WoW, great story.
I wish I could go back to my first flight. The feeling was just great!

Still have mine. Metal arms now, broke too many wooden ones. What a flashback.

Fort lost in the woods is what they call it 😂 that's where I went to basic training
I was in the Navy when I heard about quadcopters. I had the idea to put a camera on a plane, but not a quad.
You need to do a build video on one of them wooden quads. I think it'd be cool just to see how it was done back in the beginning
Just watch the old flitetest build video
I thought you were going to cry there JB. I almost did
haha, i skipped that and went to a 10" dji Flamewheel. Then miniquadbros started selling zmr kits and it was over
Fort Lost in the woods
The good ol' days of taking apart Wii Remotes
