  • In an unprecedented announcement this week, the International Criminal Court said they are seeking warrants to arrest leaders of Hamas, as well as leaders of Israel, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity. That came days before the United Nations’ top court on Friday ordered Israel to halt its offensive in Rafah.
In the war’s seventh month and as the humanitarian crisis deepens in Gaza, the PBS NewsHour also spoke with one of the last American doctors that was there, who called the conditions dire and tragic.
Elsewhere in the Middle East, Iran entered five days of mourning after Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, the country’s foreign minister and six others died when their helicopter crashed amid foggy conditions in a remote mountainous region of northwest Iran.
