    I thought I was so careful with my gel applications, bit still developed an allergy. I later found out that it wasn't my application process, but rather my clean up process. I was not careful when removing the inhibition layer. So from me just rubbing all over to take off the tacky layer, and not washing my hands, I gave myself an allergy. 😥

    I loved everything about this, especially the ghosties. 🤣
    My story...6 years ago I developed a gel and acrylate allergy that was heartbreaking for me. Doing my nails with my daughter was a favorite creative outlet. I couldn't do dip liquids either due to asthma. Then I found YOU! 😘❤️😍
    I saw one of your gel method videos and learned about HEMA and that I wasn't alone. Life changing!
    I have to use Light Elegance gels because I don't react to them, and I make my own acrylic-free dips (inspired by your vid on making your own dips).
    I am doing my nails with my daughter again and having so much fun! Thank you, thank you, thank you, and you will always be my favorite!❤️❤️❤️

    I can’t thank you enough for all you do! Your Revel nail dip powder tutorial for beginners was the first tutorial video I watched of yours where I finally learned how to do dip powder (3 mos ago). I would like to thank you so much for your help with getting a good apex too. I use the dipping system for the majority the time now and I have always used the end of a cupped cuticle pusher to sprinkle the powder on, but I love that you use a paper cake cup to catch any unused product and pour it back into the container. I will definitely be using this from now on. ❤

    Is it possible to avoid a gel allergy by doing a regular dip base (a few layers) and then putting a coat of gel over the top to avoid the nail bed? I also invested a ton in gel/builder gel products and now have an allergy. I didn’t even think twice since I always got dip in the salon for years

    Hi again Marla😁😆! I want to do gel polish with dip glitter 🎉for Halloween! What liquids do I use to prep the nail, and do I use gel base coat, and then use dip base for dip glitter? What top coat after I Capsulize in clear? Should I capsulize in the beginning too? Sorry, lots of questions, don’t shoot me🙃

    • @MarlaKris
      @MarlaKris  2 роки тому +1

      Lol you’re fine! I got you! So for prep, I would use 100% acetone to dehydrate and then a gel primer (I like young nails protein bond). Then, apply the gel base and pour over the dip glitter. No dip liquids necessary. Cure for 2 min and remove excess glitter. Repeat as necessary. Then encapsulate with gel base and gel top. No clear dip powders. File and buff and finish with gel top coat ❤️

    Thank you for another awesome video, I have a question about gel coats… I am new at this and have a Modelones dip starter kit (love it! 2 flawless manis so far!) and it came with a “gel” top coat. That top coat dries in 60 sec, no lamp. Easy peasy. Now, I would like to try an ombré or French and I have just been confused about the difference in gels that some need to be cured in light and some don’t. Why is my dip kit top coat a “gel“ when it seems like gels need to be cured (is this true?). Can you shed light on this? And, If I want to encapsulate my ombré dip mani, I would use a separate from the kit clear gel BASE, then cure in LED, then buff, then top with the dip kit gel top? (With no light). Is this correct?

    • @MarlaKris
      @MarlaKris  2 роки тому

      So anything that cures in it is NOT gel. Gel requires a lamp (UV or Led) to cure. Some companies label products as “gel” and I know it’s confusing.

    Do I use primer with dip nails

    • @MarlaKris

      Nope! Only if you’re using gel liquids 🫶🏻

    I tried gel with dip powder and love how easy it is and how well it levels. But it only works for me with clear. The colors don't seem to cure well. And I don't see videos of anyone using dark colored dip powder with gel. I have moved up to curing for 2 minutes. Help any tips. Right now I clear dip and then do a different polish over top. 😔

    Sperm ghosties! 🤣 Adorbs.
    So, I have a question about the efile. Other than the obvious extra 5,000 RPM, do you see much difference between the 35,000 "pro" drills and the 30,000 drills? I never get anywhere near that speed, would there really be any reason to upgrade?

    • @MarlaKris
      @MarlaKris  2 роки тому +2

      So it’s not the speed per say, it’s the power. The more powder, the less likely you are to skip on the nail and cause divots
