      Hi, and thank you for the info. I just received my kit yesterday, and I haven't used it yet. Now, I'm not sure if I want to use this due to allergies and my allergy Induced asthma. *sigh*. I don't have a problem at the nails salon, so I'm hoping I won't when I do my nails on my own.

    I believe I commented on one of your previous videos on dip flu. I started using dip powders a year ago and went all in with buying up every powder color I could afford. On my 2nd manicure, I got really sick. It felt like a sinus infection and asthma combined. I didnt put it together with the powder until browsing one day and seeing a video about it. Since I was in my room doing swatches for 3 days in a row and staying sick, I put it together. I didn't use the products at all until I was feeling better. I bought a nail fan and N95 masks and haven't had a single issue. I actually put the dip powders in cupcake wrappers on top of the fan. I electronic file over the fan and brush everything off over the fan. The mask and fan are on at all times until clean up is done. I only use a mask 3 times and then throw it away. I hope this helps somebody. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us!

    To use all the dips I just purchased a few weeks ago! I’m going to try the gel method and maybe that respirator mask . I got this horrible rash on my hands and chest tightness. I had to use my inhaler. I love your videos ❤

    I tried to use dip powder and was soooo sick....it lasted for weeks..it was definitely freaky. I became so afraid of using these liquids and I bought so many powders.

    I have to use a 3M organic vapor mask, no other type of mask works for me. It is the vapors from the acrylates that trigger the allergy symptoms.

    I'm going to try some of these suggestions. I've done 3 different sets of dip, after my first one I didn't have any issues, but after sets 2 and 3 I have been so congested! I did my nails Sunday, it's Wednesday and I'm just now starting to be able to breathe unmedicated. I LOVE the results, but I can't be sick 3 days after ever mani.

      Try switching your liquids to low oder ones. I react horribly to dip base/ nail glue. It really stirs up my allergies. But gel doesn't bother me. Unless I am filing a lot but a dust collector can help with that.

    So crazy you released this video today… I did my dip powder nails for the first time last week and my eyes were swollen and itching for like 3 days after, also congested for days… I had no idea this was a thing until now that I saw your video. Thank you so much. I just ordered the odorless liquids.

    Your experience sounds exactly like mine. I first started dip nails in the spring and summer. Like you said, I never had a problem cuz the AC was running. Come fall and winter, I kept waking up in the middle of a night with a throat tickle that would not stop. I would cough so hard, my nose ran and I'd keep coughing. One time I coughed so hard I threw up. I thought I had asthma. It took me almost 3 months before I put 2 & 2 together. This was the early days of Revel (2017/2018) and there was some talk on their page of dip flu. But no one really knew. Some tried to blame Revel products saying they never had an issue in the salon. Of course you wouldn't, air is constantly moving in most salons. LOL
    No one had the same symptoms as me, most were immediately following until one lady commented that hers began hours later and it felt like a throat tickle. Then I knew, the next time I'd see and sure enough. Woke up coughing and like you, it would take me days to recover. Found that taking Benadryl helped, but who wants to take drugs to do nails. That's silly. I tried using a respirator, but I hated it. The gel method is what kept me going. I now use a system by Kupa Nails called Dipfinity. It's like gel, but slightly different. I love it. My allergy was to the activator. I found that Dipilicous' activator doesn't set me off as other brands. I also keep the activator right next to my air filter when using it, so it sucks the fumes directly into it. Sorry to hear you were affected and glad you found a strategy to help. It's so important not to get the chemicals on our skin, because those skin allergies are next level. Yikes. Thanks for spreading the word! ❤

    I had dip flu really bad. Headache, congestion and dry/sore throat. I decided to try another company and tried Daisy Dip liquids which are hema free. I have used them several times now and don't have any symtoms of dip flu. So much better now. Chelsea- what is the clear layer on your nails in this video? I want to find something to protect my natural nails at all times. Thanks for another great video. I learn so much from you.

    I have tried Revel Nail low odor and that was no good. I really liked the product itself but after two manis (I always do more than one just in case it was coincidence) and by the second manicure, symptoms although not as bad. I just used Dipomania.....jury is still out and will determine based on the second mani. I did have a chip already which is the first chip in a while....may use more activator the next time. I'm not opposed to trying Color My World.....I just don't want a nailtervention on dip liquids LOL!!! I like gel method (I use hema free products - Maniboss two and 1 or Madam Glam) but I like to switch things up, plus dip is way easier to remove than gel method. But the last gel method mani I did, I heard a tip to use white dip powder for the first layer so when you e-file, you know when to stop. Take off was less than 5 minutes each hand to remove.

    I didn't have a problem until I did a hundred-ish swatches. While I had the normal feeling sick symptoms of dip flu, I also had a bloody nose (not like dripping blood, but still) for three days! Now I'm going to wear a mask any time I do my nails. Thanks for the education!

    When I started dipping I didn’t have a problem but then I tried NailBoo and began getting a stuffy and runny nose. Since then I get dip flu anytime I do my nails. I have tried odorless liquids like Sundara, Color My World and Revel as well as a mask and that has helped. I also use an air purifier and a dust collector. I like the gel method but it does change the color of some dips.

    Thank you for the video. I’ve been dip free for 7 weeks now and need to just take time to work with my nails. They are always thin when I remove with acetone, even when using a bit of coconut oil. By the time my nails have rested so many are split and torn and I wait until they all look nice which never happens.

    Also can feel like congestion or a very stuffy nose but severe. Sudafed and heavy Guaifenesin helped but your not going to rid yourself of it in less than 3 days just as you did. Some say that even 2 cloth masks will not stop it from irritating you. This may be an indication it's the odor rather than the fine particles of the acrylic powder. The air purifier is a fantastic idea and I'm going to try that.. Outside was a solve but limits when you can do nails.

    I have a question. The gel method is really cool and almost no fileing, but what about the take if off, you don't want to use an e-file. I recently did two nails with this method and couldn't soak off in acetone. I gave 5 coats of powder because that's what I give on the dip powder method. Any advice? I'm bad with an e-file machine and yet dip flu gets tiring ;(

    • @ashleyroberts4555
      @ashleyroberts4555 11 місяців тому

      I almost exclusively use gel method now.
      First I file as much off as possible then I do the baggie of acetone with a dish scrubby pad in it to rub my nails on. Then I put the baggie in a bowl of water as hot as I can stand & can get it off in about 7-15 minutes depending on number of layers

    • @nickyhowland2641
      @nickyhowland2641 11 місяців тому

      Gel method is difficult to get off. I do four layers of dip powder. I heard a tip to do the first layer white dip powder so when you use the efile to take off as much product as possible, you know when to stop. I did this method on my last manicure with white dip powder as the first layer and take off was literally less than five minutes each hand. I put a bowl of rice in the microwave (two 30 second increments), place a paper towel, acetone, and cuticle oil in the ziplock bag and let soak.
