Dr. Mary Neal is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon who was born and raised in Michigan and graduated from the University of Kentucky before attending the UCLA medical school. She completed her orthopedic surgery training at the University of Southern California after which she lived in Sweden, Switzerland, and Los Angeles while undergoing 1 1/2 years of specialty training in spinal surgery before becoming the director of spine surgery at USC. Dr. Neal currently lives and works in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where she and her family enjoy everything the outdoor world offers.

Dear One, Dr. Mary Neal! Your willingness to share your experience has been an enormous comfort to me since the loss of my son James. He was killed in a car accident, Feb 24, 2019. I was raised in home with a mother who taught me the truths of Jesus Christ. I taught all my children these same truths, and they have all accepted the Lord. My son was a normal 26 year old hanging around with his friends. Each one knew of his faith in his Savior. Your experience has brought me to a deeper level of trust in the Lord. Sure I had faith. It was shaken when I received the news my son was dead! You are also a mother who lost a son. The trust you have in the Lord, and joy you are still able to experience is a gift to me. There are many times during the day when I feel so broken. The Lord leads me to yet another video where you share all these truths. I tell myself...."I need to listen to Mary!!!" God ALWYAS uses you to bring me comfort. I know where my son is and one day I will see him again. You were already there and saw Heaven! I understand that in this life.....we are to be the love of the Lord for all those around us....in our path. Angela, I too have gotten much solace from Dr. Neal's experiences and vivid recollections. We saw her speak here in Tucson a few years ago and it impacted me greatly then. But we just lost our 29 year old son PJ on July 5th after a long battle with osteosarcoma. A friend reminded me of her talk, and I've been watching all her videos through a different lens now clouded by grief. I take great comfort from her description of Heaven. My heart sings when I picture PJ in his perfect state in his eternal Home, surrounded by so much love and beauty. Such a blessing to have these wonderful images to think about.

My elder sister died when I was 26 in 1988. I think a sibling gets over it far easier than a parent. My parents never got over it. My mother in particular. Undoubtedly, she would have divided her life into two distinct epochs - the period before and after my sister's death. I would not say that she was unhappy, but her life became forever tainted with an underlying sadness. My heart goes out to you because I know what they went through. In particular, those first five years following her death. Both of my parents became very committed Christians following her death. As a struggling Christian, I like to imagine they have been reunited once more.
I too lost my 16 year old son to 5 weeks of cancer. Been a Christian for 30 years prior and nothing Nothing prepared me for that
Since then I have RAN TOWARDS God and He has also led me to Dr Neal
Her experience is so profound I am still considering trying to book a appointment as a patient and pay her for 15 min of her time
My son was also a solid Christian and shared his faith and was a sort of inspiration and leader to all his friends. It really really shocked everyone with 5 churches and approx 1500 people praying for him
I was in what is known as the faith movement when my boy got sick. I knew and had even taught Gods goodness with things like healing and prospering etc. my wife and I as well as all our friends did EVERYTHING the word of God says and ( we thought ) promised to heal the sick if you believe and pray in faith
Laying hands , anointing with oil , speaking Gods word with ver him, fasting and praying , the church elders laying on their hands etc.
my son passed with us laying in bed with him having to pull life support while we played worship music
I will say I had no idea a human could hurt so bad and horrifically deep Dying by any means would be easier
I could write a small book on how many real miracles we had happen afterward which we didn’t ask for and honestly didn’t really even care for yet there were so many and so profound and impossible it’s impossible to not know they were in fact real miracles
Why ??? Why would God do things like what He did but not save our son ?
Why my son ?
My son was the best boy abu father coukd hope to have. Hard to explain but he was dads shadow from 2 years old. I had him hunting camping with me at 4 and we did EVERYTHING together. He was a joy to be around. Never had to be disciplined just a happy boy who was turning into a young man. He knew sho he was. He was 6 ft and strong at 16 and confident. He knew how to have fun and laughed a lot everyone loved him. He is the type of boy ANY father woukd want for his daughter and the world needs more of
God coukd heal him but He didn’t
I feel I’m suppose to share with you and the other person that replied that lost their son, something the Holy Spirit showed us
Isaiah 55:1-2. The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away and no one understands
that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil.
2 Those who walk uprightly enter into peace they find rest as they lie in death.
I see very clearly now that death hurts because we were designed to be together. If you grasp that it’s profound because grief then becomes proof that separation wasn’t the designed plan
I also understand God the Father lost both His children Adam and Eve same time. It was actually far worse because from them ALL His future children would be lost
If we are made in Gods image then our ability to grieve and the pain we feel missing our sons has to have come from Him
We grieve because God can
If God experienced the depth of pain I have then I understand very well that being GOD He would NOT accept that separation You know exactly what I’m talking about.
God being God could and He did and the plan of salvation was it. The church has watered down salvation but it’s the good news that separation IS ONLY TEMPORARY
I listen and seek out only the NDE that acknowledge heaven and Christ and they help me grasp the reality of it
Heaven is a reunion a reuniting of family and friends in a place not made of governed by man but by the hand of God and it’s eternal. We just don’t naturally grasp it but as you know the more you put your attention to it the more you do
Isaiah 57:1-2 Tells us about the reality of it we just don’t easily have the Ears to hear it
Heaven is finishing the race It’s the prize the finish line
That’s actually what you want for all your kids abd family
I consider this - if I love my boy I mean really Love him and he was given the chance like winning a lottery ticket to go to heaven wouldn’t I want that fit him ? Yes but certainly it would be and is heart breaking because I want him in my life
But what if that ticket was a first class train and his winning guaranteed him the happiest life and beautiful health and never again any pain ? Life here is very uncertain. When I look back at mine I could of never guessed my life now. Some have it easier than others. Bible says it rains on the just abd unjust and it doesn’t. Our son’s were spared the pain of life and possibly extreme suffering.
Do you know why Dr Neal and others are told and assured all will be alright with loved ones left here on earth ?
It’s not because they won’t suffer that’s for sure.
It’s because in the scheme of things - in the bigger picture we certainly will be. Once reunited we will look back at this time and remember and know how it changed us but just like remembering a hard time years ago is now a memory so will it be there yet with all Gods goodness and glory and gift of eternal life we will so easily not be effected by any prior sad memories as we then live out what God is telling us right now - All will be ok, trust me

I feel your pain…I also lost my oldest son in a tragic car accident in 2019 😢
I have a piercing in my heart that will always be there until I take my last breath. I just know that my son would want me to be happy and pass it on 🙏🏼

Thank you Dr. Niel for this talk. I too lost my son. He was my only son, he was 16 & he died in my arms from a sudden asthma attack. His loss brought me to my knees in life. But it was Jesus who helled me through my deep grief & healing. Each day I am trusting Jesus that he's got my precious Daniel with him, who's living an amazing after-life. It is that TRUST in Jesus that I will one day be with Daniel again. Thank you Lord for your salvation!

Daniel's alive, living In the Disney land of God's Universe ( Heaven) and it is because of Jesus' sacrifice & love that I'll be with Daniel again someday. God Bless You, Dr Mary Neale, your story and the eloquent way that you express yourself has given me hope and comfort in a very dark time in my life. I have tried listening to other stories and I have been going to church and talking to others, but your story is the one I keep going back to . I suffered a brain tumour , eleven years ago. The operation has left me unable to swallow. I have a feeding tube inserted into my stomach. I was 46 years old when I was operated and endured an eight hour operation, then eventually another operation to insert the feeding tube. I was in hospital for three months recovering as not only couldn’t I swallow but I couldn’t talk properly and my balance was badly affected also. The day that I was discharged out of hospital, my husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and died five months later. My dear mother became sick with stomach cancer about a year after this and passed away also. I have been searching for someone to bring some meaning, and I came across your story. Amazing !

Thank you so much for posting this video. At 7:57 I particularly learned a lot from when Dr Mary speaks about how we should LOVE our ENEMIES ... and that if we truly knew their history we would have "incredible love and deep compassion" for them. I'm trying to discover how to love those who have hurt me, and I want to thank BB&R and Dr Mary Neal for sharing these insights. @@biancahotca3244 not true. You have much to learn. Believing that only some people get a chance to get in heaven, is your religion, and it's perspective. Many report sing Jesus before they enter heaven, everyone gets a chance to get in. There are other religions, and other perspectives. Your religion is not the only religion, it's one of many. .

I'm working on trust in God but admit it's difficult right now. My 19 y/o son is in a very dark abyss of rage. He barely functions, cut off his few friends, has outbursts where he punches through his closet doors. It all stems from him not accepting that I had him circumcised as a baby (which I now know is not a good idea. I did it with best intentions). He says it's mutilation and can't get over it and is out of control with rage and evil thoughts. He also has some OCD and I think Asperger syndrome which is maybe why his mental state is so dark and consumed. I worry for his physical life but also his spiritual/soul because he says he doesn't believe in God and blames religions for inventing it. God loves him but in the bible it says we have to believe and accept Jesus as our savior. God's will must be done but I pray for his life and soul to be Saved! Jesus I trust in you. My son is in your hands.

I watch every nde story I find on UA-cam and have read a number of books about ndes and this is the only one who talks about God telling her someone they loved was going to die. Not just anyone but their child. And apparently it happened. I don't know what to think of it. I would think she would come back devastated and full of crazy thoughts. Did she tell her husband and siblings? How about her son? I don't get it. What a horrible experience. Like most people I love my children with a special love that is reserved for them.

It takes a lot to know their child is going to die prematurely and violently, while continuing to trust in God’s love, when god planned the death. This is the kind of thing karma based religions say occurs.. Buddhist and Hindu. Early Christians had the same belief, some versions do now.

I think all religions should take these things seriously instead of preaching what did you do wrong and you are going to hell if you don't watch out!!!!My experience with death was early because many of my dad's older relatives seem to die one after another in the 1950's and 1960's - we were always going to funerals. And also our next door neighbors who had 3 little boys and a girl were involved in a horrible car wreck which killed the 3 boys so I most certainly knew about death at an early age.

It’s one thing to accept that life maybe happy or unhappy, and possibly made short by circumstances according to our biology or physical reality, like accidents, illness, natural disasters, or even violence. Destructive emotions may be overcome by acceptance that ‘earth rules’ apply, and God loves us all anyway.
It’s another thing, when one realises that “thy will be done” includes Gods plan, or a persons plan, to have a tragedy according to a plan pre birth, or at least long before the death.A death allowed by God for human benefit, and which had a unique resurrection. This does NOT form part of (current) Christianity, other than God’s plan for Christ’s death.
What is unique in this story, however, is what occurred to Mary’s oldest son when he died after being hit by a car, 10 years later. That was forewarned in her NDE.
Therefore it was not what we call “an accident”. It was destiny.
Somehow her son became aware of his pending death. This is evidence that some or all of us have predestined periods of life. How is this included in “complete understanding” and from a God that is love? The benefit of knowing in advance of his early death, and positive impacts of his death, has not been explained by Mary. Only the pain and suffering. Why? Her only response is to ask us to Trust God. Maybe the reasons become clear after her family members own death?
Is just trusting God useful while on earth, especially when the tragedy was essentially ‘god made’ and without reason. At least Jesus’s death had purpose, known to Jesus and his disciples. So her test of trust was all that was left. Now free of hurt, anger? Really? How genuine is this?
One thing in common with ALL NDE’s is a lack of fear of death. But pain continues on earth until full knowledge is clear after death. Conclusion. Life in human form is always painful and cruel. Freedom is not possible while in human form. “ What is the beauty that came it “ ie. from her sons death? Most psychologists would say to leave it to trust, is denial of the truth…there is no good answer available. The only answer for him is he went back to Source (love) earlier. But why? Remains unclear.
The NDE of Nanci Danison gives some insight. The son chooses at pre incarnation, his parents and agrees to die early, so the pain and suffering can be only partly experienced and shared with others in heaven. We cannot feel pain and suffering in heaven.

Just want to mention without any offense whatsoever, here is a true NDE account “out of the horse’s mouth.” The horse being most Medical doctors and scientists that usually tend to deny the existence of anything further than what they can physically proove. Perhaps the only way they can ultimately be convinced of anything beyond life as we know it, is to personally experience it and gain the incredible insight from it.
What is the purpose of these talks? Remember, Mary had to have the NDE to transform and have greater purposes? NDE’s existed long before 1999, but they did not impact her. So why would it impact us, until we go through the same? Look luck to her.. but the laundry list were hard to achieve. Good questions.
The first one, the why, I can say that hearing her story helped me. It gives me peace. Because her story is soothing to me that my best friendthe love of my life who passed away unexpectedly, recently, didn't experience a life of feeling unloved, being treated cruelly, unappreciated, during his time here; only to die in all aspects, transform into nonexistence, forgotten by time, and eventually forgotten as the people who grieve him and hold memories of him, have also ceased to exist.
The story she shares, helps me to come to terms with my grief.
About the list, who knows if it's true; or the mechanism-supernatural or otherwise--by which her interpretation of the experience and interpretation of "the information given to me about things that I had left to do", occurred. We have no idea. Language is extremely confining but it's the way in which she has to communicate, describe, her experience. There may be aspects of her experience for which there are no words.
Happiness is not a choice but joy is? Crockery. Happiness and joy are the same stuff. Happiness is Normal, joy can appear close to mania. Truth is. They are on a continuum. I appreciate the analogy, but it just doesn't fit for our lives on earth. I appreciate her truth that bad stuff happens and it is ok to feel pain. Most religions and many people try to push pain away
She never mentions Jesus or god in her experience. It's bigger than any one religion
