    Title is 1.2 kilometer train goes missing. I watched the whole video and there was no mention of a missing train. Either this is click bait or Australia has a different meaning for the word missing.

      They made reference to the missing train around the 8 min mark.

      @@solomongainey838 went back and rewatched. The train mentioned at around 8 minutes wasn't missing it was delayed. There's a difference. They knew where the train was and that it wasn't going to arrive on time. Missing means they can't find it. There were no missing trains in this video.

    I watched a video of a coal train from Ironton, Ohio - it had 157 wagons! Coal dust blowing into the town. Being robbed by kids was too cute! Love your video. 😀

    It was a fun video despite the "click bait" title. I'm surprised that in one case the driver couldn't see a signal saying he still could proceed at caution. In another case, an important switch was operated manually in the yard.
    Still, a fun video.

      The scene seen by drivers hardly ever changes. The surprise is they don't regularly fail to see red lights.

    Trains will be used alot more due to diesel prices for semi trucks. Coal burning train engines will help.

      Coal is a terrible fuel for trains, it is heavy and not very energy dense. If they convert locos it will be to LNG or some variety of electric.

    • @IndustrialParrot2816
      @IndustrialParrot2816 2 роки тому

      @@mattwalker5689 yeah except many big steam engines are more powerful than diesels however elecitrc locomotives are more powerful than both combined (but they require complex electrical infrastructor)

    Ok, so click-bait title. Also, 28:36 "it's so tough on the trains that safety authorities have installed a sophisticated detection unit at the side of the tracks to check nothing's wrong it picks up hot wheels it picks up on bearings it's got drag detectors so if there's something hanging down from the wagon it'll pick that up as well and they'll give us what type of alarm it is what they think's wrong what wagon it's on what axle number" ... that's what's called a "hot box detector" in the US, correct? And in the US, where they love to cheapen out on their tracks, those things seem to be everywhere, not just on places that are "tough on the trains".

      no ruling grade on most american mainlines is only about 1% i believe the saluda grade is only about 2.5% however on the colorado narrow gauge (or whats left of it) its about 3 to 4%

    this fletcher guy needs to buy at least six new locos with all the profits he makes. this way he can run two trains. and not fear a blocked train. as well as having "spare" locos for the soon to come loco break downs. and could run four not three for a safety margin getting over the hills. (a rear pusher helps keep knuckles from snapping). never too much braking abilty. or umph getting up grade.

    • @rempanda
      @rempanda Рік тому

      Farming isn't very profitable, most of what is earned from selling those hauls will go straight back in to the farm. I very much doubt he's making 30 mil+ profit to buy up 6 new locos.
