Awesome video mate - have an 07 wr250 and has been stalling out always doing crossings this is def the problem going to re route the breathers today 🤘🏼
Nice one Mitch, I actually haven’t had this fixed confirmed on other models so I’m really interested to see how you go with the WRF! Please let us know 🙂👍
Hey Buddy, great job well done. Near the end of the Video Your friend was talking about the bigger 15T front sprocket - couldn't fit it because of clearance issues with the case guard. I have done this successfully using an OEM 15T sprocket and the case/chain guard from the SM model. Works perfectly!
So @ 2:45 , there are two hoses that are running down the left hand side of the carb from the factory. The goal is to re-route BOTH of those hoses correct? Right side one is pulled back through to the right side and routed upward, and left side one is routed up the left side. Leaving both Tee fittings as they are, did I get that correct? Seems like the left hand one (with tee under the TPS sensor wire) might have to make a 180deg U bend? Is pinching an issue here? might be good to warn/describe?
Nice vid. I've found with the water crossings that you can go deep but not for long without stalling. A friend of mine said with the FCR carby, run 1/2 the hoses up & leave 1!2 down.
Your friend is spot on. didn't explain properly but need to keep half down for drainage when the Carby floods. Are you going to do the Modification to your DRZ?
Hi mate just watching yr video and can you clarify whick side of the T piece are to hoses that need to be rerouted Is it the top or bottom of the T on bothe sides of bike ?? Thanks kn advance rick
Hi Truth Saw, for attilio it came down to quality and reliability in which the SWM was lacking. If you look at an earlier video on the channel I had a test ride and walk around. For reliability and quality can't go past the DRZ. The SWM is good bang for buck but may not be the best long term purchase
Good stuff guys. Can you tell me the name of the small petrol filter and where did he get it? And I noticed the short clutch/brake levers, do you have the name and where to buy, also if you fitted them yourself was it an easy task?
There is another way of doing this, you can add a tee piece into the existing fuel line and run another tube from the tee into the air filter. The advantage of this is that u can leave existing lines and when fuel overflows it will still drain as usual...
Can I please clarify, is there 2 t pieces one each side of carby? And do you re route both tubes on the t piece (mine has two tubes coming out of left t piece) is there two tubes coming out of the right side t piece.
WESTOZ EXPLORING thank you I have found the right side which is harder to access, so I’m gathering there’s 4 tubes to re route as each side has two tubes running form the t pieces, but that’s at odds with the video 🤔
@@bundella1 leave 1 tube each side running down, don't reroute. The top tube each side left and right run those ones upwards. Still want two of the tubes running down to drain excess fuel if you drop and flood the carby
Thanks for that clarification, was a bit confused when I found 4 tubes instead of 2🤔 however now have two lower ones going down as original and upper ones rerouted into the air box, 👍
Hi sdq sdq, apparently eBay special "Chinese Aluminium". And springs are aftermarket, pretty sure racetech. Bike set up by a local suspension shop :- Endurowetech. Perth Western Australia.
@@allaussietraveller9879 yes definitely recommend, Perth based small business, Will take the time to go through your riding style and set up to match everything to you . Happy with my results!
No you definitely want the overflow drains running down, if your carby float gets stuck open, want the fuel to run to ground through the hose and not over the bike. Just the hoses identified Will fo the trick 👍
@@craigcloss8168 at 2.47 I have the screw driver right in under the throttle position sensor. You should be able to find the t-piece that goes into the carb and is the same on the other side

Thoroughly enjoying your DRZ DIY videos. Thanks!
Thanks Alex, glad you enjoyed them! Is there anything else in particular you would like to see?
Whilst I wish so so much it was clearer which T peice hose was being rerouted earlier, this video was really handy for doing this mod. Cheers!
Thanks for the video, trying this on my KLX450R. Was very simple, hopefully I dont have as many stalls in water crossings now.
@@yenski132able how did you go mate?

Aaaannnd.....my problem is solved. Thanks mate, I stalled it going through 18" of water today.

Interesting! Will pass it on, I am not sure as I run 14/48 gearing with a B&B case saver and that all works nicely
Thanks Jase - nice work, good instructions.. Now done on mine. No excuses next water crossing - or at least different excuses!
