☕ WAS THIS VIDEO HELPFUL? BUY ME A COFFEE!! www.buymeacoffee.com/techgeartalk ⭐ Z Fold 3: geni.us/8PWsoAJ (affiliate) What's up everyone?! I hope this review of the Samsung Z Fold 3 was helpful. Did I cover what you wanted to know? What else did you want to see or learn about? Would love to know what you think. Is this a phone that you would use and why or why not?
@@Sudden-Champion24 have you tried it in hand? I was worried about the narrow cover screen, but discovered it was one of my favorite features of the phone!
@Alexander Kaymak I like this part the most, "taking risks." As you know, it is popular these days for all manufacturers to combine existing technologies to make cheap products. But it will be very difficult to make those techniques. Samsung actually has as many technology patents as Apple or more than Apple. They are serious about R&D. Of course, consumers will be enthusiastic about cheap and good products right now, but I think actions that influence the world in the long run are more valuable. In that respect, I like Apple, Samsung, and Google.
Just switched from the Note 10 to the f Fold3. Yeah, I know there is a Note 20 but not knowing if we will ever see future Note iterations thus the line might be dead or if they will simply merge the Fold and Note lines (hope they do with that built-in S-Pen made for the inner display, even if it makes the device thicker and/or heavier!!!!!) I didn't want to get the next one only to have to get used to another line. Might as well rip off the bandaid and do it now with a line that looks like it's going nowhere anytime soon: the Fold series. And DAYUM am I glad I picked this over the Flip my brother picked for similar reasons and because if I go up he has to go down, etc. He already regrets his choice so bad he ate the loss (couldn't get his money back due to shenanigans) and finally did something not the opposite as me for once and got the Fold3 foe full price cause the promos were done. I watched him using his Flip and trying so hard to stunt and act like he was loving it even though his wife was telling everybody he hates the damn thing sooo bad but he can't let me know he hating it. 🤣🤣🤣 She said he says the crease splitting the screen horizontally ruins the whole damn experience as he can't use it full throttle like a traditional smartphone unless it's open and has to feel it a lot. That he saw how I can just close the Fold3 and use it more or less like a "real" phone when I am done with the bigger screen or the crease (which I have also found is actually not bad at all, it being vertical). Plus quite a few more issues than I can easily put here. Not knowing I know he really hates it I tortured him constantly. Me: "Bro you really loving that Flip aren't you. I see how much you rocking it whenever I'm around so you must be on it all day. I'm loving the hell out of my Fold but not so much I use it that much." Him while making an obvious to everyone but him fake smug face: "Yea, it's folds up smaller and ain't a brick." Me: "I don't mind it. I am just glad the crease actually never ends up in the way that much, ya know ?" Him with his smug face slipping some: "Yeah, for sure. They did awesome work with that. Can't wait until the next Flip. Is she out of the bathroom yet/damn better take this dog for a walk/speaking of phones, mom said she wanted me to call her. I need to do that real quick before I forget." Priceless. That went on for all of a week or a bit more before he discovered we all knew he really hated it and he got so "pissed" he "forgot" the Flip was what was in his hand and bounced it off the concrete of his patio and due to aforementioned shenanigans I won't go into here for reasons he had to eat that loss. He went to his carrier mobile store got the Fold3 saying he ain't using no IPhone and they done killed the only other Samsung phone I liked with the Note to I guess I'm stuck with this damn thing. It better not suck as bad as it looks and live up to all that bullshit hype about it you been spewing." Slams door. Pure gold. But seriously I wobr go back so long as they make them, even if the Note comes back. It's just that awesome got pretty much all the reasons this guy states in this video and also like he said they will only get better as they make each nee model. I am sold. Hope they do give it the onboard S-Pen bit I love the rest of what it does so much I can live without it. Not getting those bulky cases to carry one. I just won't have one. It's a worthy trade.
@@SkyDiving_StormTrooper I just finished reading your write up. Im glad you genuinely love the Fold. Makes me want it the more. Congratulations on your new phone. I'm happy your bro got one too. He is welcome into the fold. You didn't mention if he loved it too. How does he like it? As a Note10+ user myself, the only reason why I didn't get another Note was because they didn't release another last year. Even though they will release one this new year, I wouldn't get it and will be patient to wait for the Fold4. Hoping they do a great job like they did in the FOLD3.
The sheer cuteness of the Z Flip was what got me. The fold is great, productivity wise, but everytime I fold my flip up it just sparks so much joy. Will probably give the fold another change to win me over next year.
@@TechGearTalk no actually, I'm keeping it as backup, I'm still not 100% convinced that fold 3 display won't break all of a sudden lol, but so far so good. I did trade in my note 9 for z fold 3 though.
@@Robert-bq9xh not fully but I still use my note 20 ultra, whenever I feel like, it's still a big phone and snappy, also note 20 ultra camera is better than fold 3, so I carry both when I go out.
@@jubayarahmed342 only reason I got it was to take advantage of xbox game pass. Even though battery isn't that great I thought I try something new . The good thing is that fold phones will get better in the future.
I traded my Note 20 Ultra for this at launch, and I'm happy I did. Yes, this phone is heavier than I'd like, but the tablet mode is sublime and a worthwhile upgrade. If you use your phone for emails, you won't find a better email implementation on a phone. It also feels more durable than I expected, which is a nice surprise. I'm not worried about that hinge wearing out at all. Spend an hour using this phone, and you're going to want one for yourself.
I'm in the same boat. I traded my note 20 ultra on cyber Monday for the Z Fold 3. It's been a looong time since I was impressed with a new phone. Let's face it, each year we get a new phone that's 99% the same thing as we had the year before... You get the 50th iteration of the iPhone and Galaxy phones which have tiny differences that no one will notice. The Z Fold 3 I was in sheer awe of every time I used it the first couple weeks. Everything is a completely new experience from web browsing to email to texting to gaming...
I've had the fold 3 for about a week and a half now. I'm enjoying it more than I expected, I'm still getting used to the narrow tall cover screen, not a fan of it. But getting the big screen is worth it. Battery life is a bit less than my S20 Ultra and cameras have been great with the exception of the zoom. But overall it's a great productivity and entertainment device. The s pen is very nice for note taking.
@@FrankFurther For me, i just want a normal sized phone with the option to use the tablet screen and is there when i need it. I would like to be able to do all things comfortably on the front screen.
To keep it from sliding out of your, put self sticking rubber feet on the backside of it. I put a single one on the back, helps with migitating the rocking of the phone due to the camera island.
When I first saw it on UA-cam , I said. No not for me , wait for the 4th gen , then I went to TMobile and I hold it in hand and boy first thing I did , I laughed !! And I placed the order
@@TechGearTalk EXACTLY that's what i said, majority of people that's criticizing the Z Fold 3 hasn't tried it, I'm not talking about for 3 days it took me a week as well, i had to adjust to it coming from a iPhone, I'm loving my Z Fold 3.
I was also in this position thinking it's too big of a phone, and I went to my phone network provider and saw the Fold 3 and wow it's actually amazing. However, I didn't place an order coz it's too expensive, I can't justify the price. For tthat price I can get an MacBook Pro 13 with M1 Chip with 16GB + 512GB with a final cut pro bundle package and still cheaper by a couple of hundred dollars. 🥺
I'm totally in love with it. However, technically speaking, this is the 4th generation. They don't market it that way because they don't want it out there that it took them four attempts to get it right. Gen 1... everyone, very easily peeling off the inner film, rendering it useless, the large pieces of "flotsam" getting under said overlay via the old hinge mechanism and creating lumps in the display, etc. Technically the next attempt, where they re-engineered the hinge, keeping most dust & debris out, and how that plastic overlay was attached to the phone, with the edges of it tucked into the hinge and edges of the phone, making it much harder to peel off, the new warning both on paper in the box, and on the phone on initial setup... THAT was technically Gen 2. The Fold 2 is technically the Fold 3, and the 3, (current iteration), is really the 4th generation.
@@loumartin8851 thanks for the explanation, good to know as i just purchased the ZF3 yesterday. Trying to see if i should keep it or return it for the s22
Have had my ZF3 for a little bit now and I love it. I had the Note 20 Ultra and for a second I thought it would be a downgrade but it surely is not. Great video...
Still have my note 20 plus ultra.. Still love that phone.. used the 120 hrz on it for the 1st time last week note 20 feels like a new device.. 😂😂 but this fold 3 and the attention I grab with this is amazing !!
My Fold 3 will arrive at my doorstep in 2 days. I am a long time Note user and before that a Palm Treo user. I've always wanted and used a Pen with my phones and I'm looking forward to doing the same with the Fold. I can't wait.
just purchased the 512gb black model, I absolutely love the design and the functionality of the z fold 3. I purchased mine for AUD $2650 not including the fold edition stylus and case. Keep up the good content, loving it from Australia.
Thank You! Seems like you are one of the very few who really understand the Fold and how it is intended to be used. I've been saying since the original Fold was announced that anyone who thinks the cover screen is too small doesn't understand the design philosophy of the phone. The cover screen is for quick one handed use. Send a quick reply to text, make a quick call, check notifications, that kind of thing. For anything more than that or anything where a bigger screen is wanted or needed you are intended to use the main display. Yes the big unfolded screen is the primary screen you're supposed to be using the majority of the time. The cover screen is a secondary display for quick stuff that usually only takes one hand. After all if you're going to use two, you'd unfold it. So there is really no good reason to make the cover screen bigger and add weight and size to an already big and heavy phone. The fact is for its use case the cover screen being smaller and narrower than a normal phone is ideal not a negative. I dont' get wanting to use the cover screen so much anyway. I mean isn't' that big'ol screen the whole reason to pay $1800 for a Fold? If you want a bigger cover screen so you're wanting to unfold it less, or becuse you "dont want to have to unfold it" you simply are not who the fold was made for. Buy a regular Galaxy, save a bunch of money, and be happy.
@@Johnmims65 I'm not sure anyone will give you the answer you are after here pal. As someone who isn't an apple user and hasn't even used the fold 3 outside a display case, you should stick with what you've got imo. As good as the fold is I think you'd end up stuck in the middle, not quite as good at normal phone things as the iPhone 13 and not big enough and has a weird aspect ratio to contend fully with the ipad. I'm open to hearing others thoughts but that's my opinion, if your a tech nerd like the rest of us and fancy a change then yolo go for it!
Don't forget about those speakers, they're some of the best I've heard on a mobile, tab, or phone. I've had the fold 3 for 5 days now and I still feel like I just got it, it's an amazing device. I sort of wish I hadn't bought it, because I don't think I could ever go back to a slab phone. It's nice they're giving $1,000 for my 3.5 year old S9+, can't beat that. The thing that surprised me the most about the fold 3 was the narrow outer screen - I flippin' love it! Went with the 512gb version for all my game emulators/ROMs. Gaming on the go with this thing is a mind blowing experience, it does not disappoint. Dig all the tent and portrait modes too, it's nice having a built in tripod that you can just wave your hand to take shots. So many little things this device does that you don't realize until you have it.
@@TechGearTalk It sure is, I really like it. It gives the phone a space age look, and I find the crazy aspect ratio to be pleasing to the eyes for some reason. Helps make the phone more manageable as well.
@@drumair28 I seriously doubt that. Plenty of fold 2 users still using they're device daily. For me personally it doesn't matter, I opted for full insurance in case I have any issues with the screen. Zero deductible through at&t for any screen replacement, peace of mind. I take good care of phones, my 3+ year old s9+ that I'm trading is in mint condition. I still have a 10+ year old S3 and 2 old Notes that work and look as good as day 1, except for battery life of course. I miss putting custom ROMs and bootloaders on my S3, those were the good old days. I have seen a couple pics of damaged screens already on reddit, but they look like they were poorly handled. I don't suggest careless or clutzy folks get the fold 3, it's not designed for abuse.
The crease was my biggest concern. Being a Note user for years I was very sceptical. I got my fold 3 a week or so before launch and I've not looked back since. The crease has become a non issue and I just love the device. I can't state just how much I enjoy it. 😁
The Fold 3 means it has had 3 iterations of the product in order to get rid of those *major issues* that really made the original so poor. This time around, the build is more refined, the screen is more scratch resistant and there is less dust getting into the phone. It's not a perfect phone... but we are definitely not too far away from a device that could literally *bend* the smartphone industry in half. 👌🏻
0:26 - The fold 3 here in Australia is $2500 - $2650. The z flip 3 256gb is $1499 - $1599. You get tech WAY cheaper in the U.S vs here - ALWAYS have done! Video games start at $115 new here for A list games, you get them for $60.
Love this phone. Actually the small front screen is fine for me as it's very easy to hold and the larger inner screen more than makes up for it. A larger battery life would've been a little better, but it works. I also use the spen a lot for maneuvering around the phone and taking notes. I will never go back to a regular phone again.
I had an Xperia 1 III, loved the narrow design a lot! Ended up switching to a S21 Ultra because Sony has some bluetooth and connection issues in general. Camera is a bit glitchy too but when it works it's great. It's "too stock Android" for me. I wish Sony put some effort, it would have been a perfect phone.
In Brazil it’s even more expensive… it sells for R$11.500 (about US$2.100). My biggest concern is not being able to go anywhere near a beach without killing the thing.
Watching from India and here the Fold costs around 2150 USD , quite expensive when compared to the west..... And also I've bought an iPad air for my dad and a Tab S7 for myself after watching your videos, thanks!
looks like the technology is coming along very nicely. I like different and things people like to talk about. More important is I like the screen size. As I have aged my eyes just aren't as good as they once were. I'm hoping the ability of larger screen I could accommodate slightly larger font and also enjoy multi tasking on this platform. Great video ... 👍
I don't care if it didn't come with 1TB but I would have loved to have a SD card slot that could handle up to 1 TB. That to me would have made this phone truly a power house device.
I guess this is another example of actually experiencing something before judging because things can really exceed our expectations and even be our cup of tea! I wanted to say that you're thorough and balanced explanations and dynamic editing hasn't gone unnoticed! well done!
There are a lot of good deals on the Fold 3 from BBuy, Samsung and the phone carriers. I got $400 off (no trade) and the $200 Samsung credit. And they're still available. No one in the US should be paying the full MSRP.
It's definitely the best phone ever, spen is absolutely 👍. Yes it's $1800, but you're getting a tablet/phone combo...do the math for a 7 inch tablet and a good phone...I guarantee you pay more than the Fold 3.
I've had mine since launch and I can't go back to a normal phone. With Samsung trade in of my Note 20 ultra I only paid $950 for it so a great value for the price. I can't wait for the fold 4.
Samsung's Z Fold series reminds me of Note series, when note1 came out (I bought one), many of my colleague felt that it was so big, not practical, etc, etc... now, every phones are big, even iPhone hops on.. I feel that this folding phones will be the next big thing...
Commenting on my z fold 3 right now. 😁Here in Philadelphia the z fold3 is also 1800.. well depending on how many gigs. I decided to buy a refurbished 512gb z fold 3 and got it $800 off the original price because I'm cheap like that. Phone looks like no one ever touched it. Anyway I love it! So happy with my purchase. I don't think I can ever use a regular phone again.
I'm from Sacramento, CA and the phone costs $1800 (US). The first Samsung Galaxy Fold was one of the most innovative phones since the first Galaxy Note. The Fold 3 is the TRUE definition of a phablet I have the Fold 3 and I love it. It took me 3 days to get used to it and it'll be hard to go to another type of phone. There is almost nothing that this phone can't do, but PLEASE keep a case on this phone. I rarely ever drop the phone, but you have to be careful nonetheless!!
I pre-ordered the fold 3 from samsung Canada for CAD $2400 and came included with a wireless charger, galaxy buds 2, 2 spens, flip cover and 1 year of samsung care+.
The only worry I have is the visible line when reading or watching stuff. I noticed the flip one had that issue but wasn't aware that this one did bc no one mentioned it in other reviews but glad you did.
You will not notice the fold line down the middle when u your watching or reading stuff..the Screen looks Great...I have been using the z Fold2 for 7 mnths now and it also has a Great vivid/bright 7.6inch120mhz AMOLED screen..
i got the S21 ultra for almost 2 months now...the more i see videos of the fold the more i wnna upgrade but i love my ultra its a beast of a phone....confused af
@@YoungWise2011 I traded mine also....whilst I absolutely love the Galaxy Z Fold 3... I must admit I was on vacation last week in New York and missed the S 21 Ultra cameras... No comparison in my opinion...😔
I find it interesting that Samsung seems to have plateaued at 512GB of storage. And yes! I'd want a 1 TB option. Love that stand that you were using for the product. It looks perfect for going in front of a computer. Any chance you can post what that stand is?
Your missing out by avoiding the fold S pen. I got one and was you enable all the features it's a gamechanger. I imagine the S pen pro is even better but I didn't want to pay the extra for it at the time since I wasn't sure I was going to use it as often as I am.
Got the zfold 2 last year and there is no way I'll ever go back to a normal phone again. I'll probably wait for the z fold 4 cause the 3 just doesn't seem like a big enough upgrade for me. Great video though. Really enjoyed your review.
The problem is the battery for sure. I tried both phones and the zfold lasted only about 9 hours and always needed charged before bed. The s21 ultra 100% of the time lasts the entire day and on a few occasions lasted 2 days
12:17 I do this with my Note 20 and Gear S3 watch all the time. I've only got one watch charger so if I'm in another part of the house I'll plug in the phone and put the watch on the phone so they both charge.
I would like to thanks Samsung for continuing with the production of Note series, though the name has been changed to S 22 Ultra, but the functionality is similar to the Notes. I am now able to upgrade my Note 10 Plus to the S 22 Ultra. I have been using the Note series since the Note 3 and have been upgrading when a newer series were launched. The Notes have helped me to do my daily office works while I am on the go without bothering of using my laptop. I am able to straight away send my office work via email or WhatsApp to a recipient. It is really marvelous. However, if the Z Fold has the S Pen attached to it, I might consider owning the Z Fold series instead. Hopefully, in future I am able to copy and paste a document or pictures on the Note series from an App like WhatsApp to a Microsoft Office documents such as the Microsoft Word, Power Point or Excel and vice versa.
Its just the Galaxy S series with the S Pen feature. Ive had all but 3 Note models from Note 2 til the 9 which I currently use, i got my wife the Note Ultra 5g and dont see a big difference besides it being slightly bigger and camera but I am not big into camera features. With that being said I purchased the Z Fold 3 today.
I'm so glad that I took advantage of the preorder incentives to get the 512gb version of this phone. My only complaint is that I wish the outside screen was larger. I found a $13 leather case on amazon that fits it perfectly with the s pen case on it. Next weekend my Spigen tough armor case is supposed to be here.
Yea! I will have the Z fold 3 for a little while because it's awesome! All the little micro-analyst people try to make it a deal breaker! NOPE! SWEET PHONE and it's pretty durable. Get a case though!
This is exactly what i was looking for day trading, i wanted to get a tablet so i dont have to carry my laptop but this phone will be perfect so i dont have to carry a tablet and this phone would be the perfect size to carry around
I want to get into day-trading! More specifically, binary options if possible. Where do you do your trading? (I mean, via what app or website have you found is best and why?) From a fellow new owner of the ZF3!~ Cheers and may you enjoy health, wealth, and happiness. ☺👌 -Andy
Mate! This phone at 512GB is $2700 in Australia, but on eBay, only $1900. Still had the invoice and only purchased a month ago. Not even used. I just wouldn't buy this brand new because I can't justify that sort of expense. I've now had this phone for about 3 weeks and I'm loving it. I bought it for the screen real estate cos I love watching videos. It's lived up to my expectations. And yes, I know the battery life is poor, but this technology is just so amazing. Loving it and can't see me going back to an iphone any time soon.
I loovvveeee the idea of this phone, but there are 3 main features I really need coming from the note 20 ultra. 1) I definitely need a terabyte of memory or adda sd slot. I really don't understand why they keep talking away the microsd option. Physically it's just a longer tray and slight change in software (that they already have)! 2) I need a spen that socks inside the chassis. I use it every day or work. It is a must. 3) last but not least. After using a phone with a camera that I can take pretty good pics of the moon, I don't think I can or want a phone without the 50 to 100 times zoom. I know the quality degrades, but it is still a great feature I believe!!! I would buy this phablet today if it had these other features!! Looking forward to seeing what the fold 4 will have in store for us. By the way!! Excellent video!,!
I just love this phone. I switched from the Galaxy Note 10 plus to the Galaxy fold Z3 phone. I will never be able to go back to a traditional cell phone. I love the narrow design and the large screen when it's fully open. I also like how heavy it is. It just feels very solid. I use the S Pen heavily when the large screen is open. The Experience on this phone is so amazing. I also bought a Bluetooth keyboard to use with it and I have connected a Bluetooth Xbox controller for streaming Game Pass games. This is an all-in-one portable computer.
I bought it at a black friday deal here in Greece at 1000 € !! From 1900€ it was when it launched and it is the best phone i have ever used, and i owned every galaxy note phone till note 21+. I am never going back to a conventional phone! The deal also had as a gift the official samsung flip case with the S Pen! Good stuff!!!
You know, the funny thing for me is that although I'm an apple fun and only use apple products, when I saw this phone in your previous video, and now in this one, and see the brightness of the screen etc I say whoa! I feel like a want it! Thanks for all the explanation and all the details 🙏
I bought a white iPhone 4 back in the day because of how innovative and breaking it was. Then i got disappointed with Apple after iphone 6. Now I don't need the fold but I want it exactly for the same reason
This phone is beautiful, but beauty comes with price which is a bummer from Samsung, And I love this beautiful with 2 grands shelling out of my pocket. btw Its 1,50,000 Rupees in India. Mine is arriving tomorrow.
With Samsung products, always pre-order using the samsung shop app., that's the best deals available. After trade in and taxes, I paid $840 for phone, 2 chargers, s pen case and 12 months of free warranty. For that price, I couldn't resist.
I got mine for 1060€ a month ago, the version with 512GB here in Germany. Keep in mind I got it one year after release, already when the Fold 4 was out. Was also my most expensive phone so far but now that Samsung released a couple of those I trusted them enough to deliver a reliable product and also especialy because of this price drop I gave it a try and I am still impressed to this day.
That’s a good deal. This phone looks amazing. I just got the iPhone 12 back in April. And was $1000. Just not sure if I want to switch yet. 1. Going from iPhone to Android 2. Sacrificing Performance 3. The $800.00 price difference If I may ask what phone did you have prior to your ZF3 and what do you think of it so far?
@@NewBeganningsAgain Regarding your first inquiry, it depends on you, which system is more suitable for you. I am using both, android and IOS. For me android is more open specially for the practical and working area. But for the quality of applications and it is open system, IOS is more suitable. 2. Regarding the performance, now adays, the process of Samsung doing great job specially Snapdragon 888, you will find no difference between the performance in daily use. Only if you are the fan of editing and producing the clips so the IOS is faster. But I can't say that SD is not doing well. 3. Actually there is a gab between the two prices, in S Fold 3 you are gaining new technology of folding screen and life, additional to that very new features which not available in iPhone 12. In this case you can decide that are in need of those features or not...? For the last part of your question, I didn't understand what do you mean by the ZF3...
The narrow screen is what made me switched to the fold 3, being able to use a phone one handed comfortably is rly rare. So far, only complaint I have would be the underwhelming battery life and the moment I turn on battery protection capping at 85% charge, by lunch my phone is alr at 40% Pros would be, with that huge surface area, cooling of the processor is easy. Allowing the phone to perform good longer without the thermal throttle compared to your typical phone
I hope you are aware that Z Fold 3 is one of the worst phones for gaming. The Snapdragon 888 thermal throttles horribly especially on the Z Fold 3. Check out the channel Golden Reviewer to see proof. He's one of the best channels. P.s. Brace yourself for when Samsung abandons the garbage 25:9 aspect ratio that you like so much. They'll be releasing their Bi-Folds aka Dual-Foldable phones eventually with more modern aspect ratios.
1899€ or 2226$ and damn right it was worth it While many people hate on the cover screen i absolutely love it. It is a real screen you can mostly use with one hand only (properly) and inside you just use two hands like msot of other 6,5+ inch smartphones.
Russia, $1,740 pre-sale price for Fold 3 512 GB+GW4 Classic+S Pen with case combo. Or $2,180 retail price after 9th of September at sale start. $2,050 for 256 GB in retail
It worth mentioning that prices in Russia are final (including all taxes on price tag), and in the USA the 1800$ price is without VAT, which size depends based on state.
I write a lot of invoices for customers and it's great to be able to write them on the go using split screen. The browser on Chrome works just like a desktop.
If AMC shoots and you sell some shares, you should reinvest that money instead of wasting it on something that doesn't appreciate in value (Z Fold 3). Think like an investor instead of like an impulsive consumer. Otherwise, you'll never achieve financial freedom.
I drop my phone every 1-2 months and last Friday was my last time, display on concrete from four feet! The tempered glass protector did its job and smashed but the screen was fine. That is my fifth screen protector that smashed in three years and my phone is spotless using a smart battery case! I think that the Fold would be a highly risky £1600 for me as I am rather underwhelmed by the case Samsung sells! The Fold3 is the best hybrid phone/tablet we can buy in the UK ATM! In fact, it is the only one so we will have to wait for the competition to know how good the Fold really is? New tech will always garner frenzied excitement, but it does not follow that it has been done well, just that it has no competition? So no rush for me, I will see what the Pixel Fold, Surface Duo, OPPO Rollable and Xiaomi come up with before I rush in!
There are loads of case options now but perhaps just be a bit careful with your phone? I haven't dropped a phone in years and never use a cover. It is a high quality piece of electronic equipment and needs to be treated as such.
Man great review... I must have watched a hundred videos on the z fold before pulling the trigger. Your practical explanation that seemed genuine ending up being pretty much on par with what I thought when I finally got mine.
Ive pre- ordered the Fold 3 in silver (after having the S4 Galaxy for 7 years). Telstra have been slow in distributing the phone. However, Samsung were offering a 4K TV for pre -ordering plus, a chouce of a gift - Earbuds or accessory pack worth $300. The Fold 3 costs $2500 downunder in Oz.
I bought this in Norway. In most stores it is around $2245 (19500 NOK). As a introductory offer, Samsung directly had it (which is from where I got it) for $2130 (1800 NOK) which included the package including the case and a charger brick.
@@TechGearTalk I watched the entire review, I never cut you short. I love the concept and would’ve been interested but I refuse to pay that much for a phone. You have to have one hell of a digital addiction to pay $1800 for a phone.
@@wrzl1675 Everyone offering $500 to $1000 off for the Z Fold 3, I'm quite sure people are doing device payments, if you're paying the retail price that's your fault.
0:30 here in the UK it's £1599 which according to the internet right now is $2,198.57! and that's 256GB so an extra £100 or $137 for 512GB. Our "taxes" or "VAT" as we call it - are in that price. Would love to know what you think. Is this a phone that you would use and why or why not?
Do you still recommend the Canon SL3 in the $500 price range for a great live video setup? What else would be better?

Samsung is way ahead of its time making the BEST phones hands down. As a Note user, I'm looking forward to buying next year's Fold.
@Alexander Kaymak I like this part the most, "taking risks."
As you know, it is popular these days for all manufacturers to combine existing technologies to make cheap products.
The only downer for me is the camera for the price I think it should be like the ultra. I take a lot of pics that’s the only reason for not getting
@@albertbolanos8794 u can still just open the phone, turn it around and capture selfies using Front Camera and STILL see yourself pre snap....
Just switched from the Note 10 to the f
Fold3.
Got my fold 3 on launch day, I'm enjoying this phone a lot, I almost forgot about my note 20 ultra.

Absolutely hate the narrow display, i wish it could have been normal sized. Maybe next year.
I just decided today to upgrade from S20 ultra to fold 3, can't wait
I've just ordered one. I don't see myself ever using the front display on it. I just want a tablet that'll fit in my pocket and that's what this is.

I plunked one down today.
$1000 off from ATT helped sway me too.

Dam , that's high , pick one up for $1050
I very much agree with this analysis 👏 Thank you for being part of and contributing to the channel, Josh!
@@TechGearTalk should I trade my 12.9” 5th gen iPad Pro and iPhone 13 pro max for the z fold 3
THIS!! All of this!! 🙌🏼
Nice work with the trade in. Wasn't the narrow display a surprise?
@@TechGearTalk It sure is, I really like it. It gives the phone a space age look, and I find the crazy aspect ratio to be pleasing to the eyes for some reason. Helps make the phone more manageable as well.
you will soon have pixel issue. one half will stop working after some time
@@drumair28 I seriously doubt that.
How has the batterylife been so far?
From Malaysia. I can’t afford this phone for now. But in 3 years I will make my way up and get something like this.
How much is this phone in ringgit?
"They shouldve called it the unfold 3" They thought of that. Thats why they send you the phone, open. So you have to fold it closed. Hence "Z fold 3"
The crease was my biggest concern. Being a Note user for years I was very sceptical. I got my fold 3 a week or so before launch and I've not looked back since. The crease has become a non issue and I just love the device. I can't state just how much I enjoy it. 😁
The crease is no problem visually but it makes the phone weak to cracking on drops. The seam breaks when the rest of the screen will work.

I would like to thanks Samsung for continuing with the production of Note series, though the name has been changed to S 22 Ultra, but the functionality is similar to the Notes. Hope the video was helpful. Sounds like it would work great for that. The display is spectacular
I want to get into day-trading! More specifically, binary options if possible.
Where do you do your trading? (I mean, via what app or website have you found is best and why?)
From a fellow new owner of the ZF3!~ Cheers and may you enjoy health, wealth, and happiness. ☺👌 -Andy
This is the businessman’s (and woman’s) smartphone! No doubt!! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Ordered mine, comes tomorrow as I dropped my Samsung s20 ultra.
I just want the large screen, simple as that.
CONGRATS!!!
I have the s20 too and considering the fold...do you like this better?
I just love this phone. I switched from the Galaxy Note 10 plus to the Galaxy fold Z3 phone. I will never be able to go back to a traditional cell phone. I love the narrow design and the large screen when it's fully open. I also like how heavy it is. It just feels very solid. I use the S Pen heavily when the large screen is open. The Experience on this phone is so amazing. I also bought a Bluetooth keyboard to use with it and I have connected a Bluetooth Xbox controller for streaming Game Pass games. This is an all-in-one portable computer.
I'll wait till the Fold 8 when they figure out how to get rid of that crease
you complain about everything
love the way you reviewed this phone! I just subscribed!
1800 dollars - 500 for trade in and 200 from Samsung? Texas. the only reason I got the fold, my note 20 was 1300 so same price range
Nice!
Ruben - this display is NICE!
@@TechGearTalk Absolutely!! the display is stunning! can say that as i tried it out myself :)
I bought a white iPhone 4 back in the day because of how innovative and breaking it was. Then i got disappointed with Apple after iphone 6. Now I don't need the fold but I want it exactly for the same reason
@@rabobravo I've tried out the fold 3, That! THAT is true innovation
I had the original fold and flip, I just got the Flip 3 and Fold 3, much improved and love them.
This phone is beautiful, but beauty comes with price which is a bummer from Samsung, And I love this beautiful with 2 grands shelling out of my pocket. btw Its 1,50,000 Rupees in India. Mine is arriving tomorrow.
13:00 Fable or Ocean horn for testing?
Great overview friend! I love to simplify by having multiple things combined, but dang, $1800. I can't be on the leading edge of this one... 😎
Thanks! I totally get it, it's definitely a commitment.
Some companies if you’re interested are offering a lot for a trade in and Best Buy has it for a few hundred off
@@TechGearTalk Do you still recommend the Canon SL3 in the $500 price range for a great live video setup? What else would be better?
With Samsung products, always pre-order using the samsung shop app., that's the best deals available. After trade in and taxes, I paid $840 for phone, 2 chargers, s pen case and 12 months of free warranty. For that price, I couldn't resist.
@@johndeaux9987 I also think they sometimes offer free earbuds too
I got mine for 1060€ a month ago, the version with 512GB here in Germany.
Keep in mind I got it one year after release, already when the Fold 4 was out. Was also my most expensive phone so far but now that Samsung released a couple of those I trusted them enough to deliver a reliable product and also especialy because of this price drop I gave it a try and I am still impressed to this day.
I don't know how people manage to crack their screens. I don't think I've ever broke one on the 10+ years I've had smart phones
I've watched this video a couple of times, great video! And I REALLY want that wallpaper from the thumbnail.
I am watching you from Iraq,
It costed me $1500 as I pre-ordered the device which is including ( S-bud pro, charger and the cover case with the S-pen)
That’s a good deal. This phone looks amazing. I just got the iPhone 12 back in April. And was $1000. Just not sure if I want to switch yet. 1. Going from iPhone to Android
2. Sacrificing Performance
3. The $800.00 price difference
If I may ask what phone did you have prior to your ZF3 and what do you think of it so far?
@@NewBeganningsAgain
Regarding your first inquiry, it depends on you, which system is more suitable for you.
Welcome to the Fold Family Bro
Appreciate it brother. Thank you for being part of the channel!
You're Welcome
The narrow screen is what made me switched to the fold 3, being able to use a phone one handed comfortably is rly rare.
So far, only complaint I have would be the underwhelming battery life and the moment I turn on battery protection capping at 85% charge, by lunch my phone is alr at 40%
Pros would be, with that huge surface area, cooling of the processor is easy. Allowing the phone to perform good longer without the thermal throttle compared to your typical phone
I appreciate the insight! Thank you for contributing to the channel!
1899€ or 2226$ and damn right it was worth it
While many people hate on the cover screen i absolutely love it. It is a real screen you can mostly use with one hand only (properly) and inside you just use two hands like msot of other 6,5+ inch smartphones.
It was a good review video. Your Fold3 theme is really eye-catching.
Is there a way to apply that theme to my Fold2?
great video! what games was you playing at 8:52?
Thanks for the review! Awesome review. Now, I'm debating on which color to get Green or silver?
I got the black Z Fold 3, now I'm wishing I'd gotten the silver, because all my phones been black.
@@hdkv agree, my mistake not mentioning that
The otter box case for this phone sucks for anyone buying one . The front just slides off the phone in your pocket
Otterbox was recalled. Return it to where you purchased it
I write a lot of invoices for customers and it's great to be able to write them on the go using split screen. The browser on Chrome works just like a desktop.
I paid £1199 in the UK for the handset after trading back my Note 10 plus 5G direct with Samsung.
For free with the I advert everything discount
@@jonathanmathis5782 what?
The pair down cheaper Samsung galaxy fold z
Spigen Slim Armor Pro is a fantastic case for it. The hinge protection is excellent, and adds a bit of a grip to the back when unfolded.
thanks! now I need to go find some stuff to sell to get one! AMAZING video!
My bad 😔. Thank you 🙏🏻👊🏻
Im getting mine in 6 days, im so excited!
CONGRATS!!! Thank you for being part of the channel!
@@TechGearTalk thank you! You make amazing videos always a pleasure to watch them
This phone looks incredible. If AMC blows I'm getting this first haha. HODL for now!
Diamond hands
If AMC shoots and you sell some shares, you should reinvest that money instead of wasting it on something that doesn't appreciate in value (Z Fold 3).
Think like an investor instead of like an impulsive consumer. Otherwise, you'll never achieve financial freedom.
This phone blows me away everyday. I have the flip on order as well.
Thank you for sharing your experience and for your perspective on the Fold 3!
Thank you so much for the honest feedback. Thank you for being part of the channel! Congrats on the Fold!!!
Technically, the phone comes unfolded in the box. 😂😂😂
I like that logic!!! You win.
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Ive pre- ordered the Fold 3 in silver (after having the S4 Galaxy for 7 years). Telstra have been slow in distributing the phone. However, Samsung were offering a 4K TV for pre
-ordering plus, a chouce of a gift - Earbuds or accessory pack worth $300. The Fold 3 costs $2500 downunder in Oz.
Buy a love handle off of Amazon for it. It makes using unfolded with one hand super easy.
I bought this in Norway. In most stores it is around $2245 (19500 NOK). As a introductory offer, Samsung directly had it (which is from where I got it) for $2130 (1800 NOK) which included the package including the case and a charger brick.
$1800 for a phone! I don’t care how good it is… Hell No!!!!!!
Hopefully you got to that part of the video.
Great review! What wallpaper is that? Very nice!!
The fold 3 in Israel is just ever so slightly more expensive than the US version. costing only $1856
0:30 here in the UK it's £1599 which according to the internet right now is $2,198.57! and that's 256GB so an extra £100 or $137 for 512GB. Our "taxes" or "VAT" as we call it - are in that price. There are a few sites from the EU offering it for £1267 or $1741 but they are different ROM's and no warranty
The price here in Switzerland is a little cheaper than in the U.S
1799.- Swiss Francs are 1965 US $
