The late Norman Whitfield wrote this powerful Temptations hit...I extended it with some original backing track.
David Ruffin was the greatest singer. I never get tired of this song. Its the best
I heard this song in 1968 while I was in junior high school. It is amazing that Mosogotam does a terrific job.

Though I'm content to listen to the original, shorter versions of the great hits from Motown only now and then, these extended versions of them by "mosogotam" I listen to over and over and over again in the course of a day, day in and day out. The fellow who created them, deceased radio-show host John Perrone of Provincetown, Massachusetts, had a genius for arranging music and re-producing it. This extended version of his is my favorite-and, I think, one of the best songs, maybe even the best, ever to come out of Motown.

When I was 9,my parents bought me a lead guitar from Kmart for Xmas. I practiced u til!I cod plat that intro perfectly blindfolded. Fast forward 51 years, today. I walked into a large music store. There was a lead guitar plugged up. I picked it up, played that intro perfectly after a few tries. Then I proceeded to run thru several Temptations, Isley Bros, Jimmy Hendrix songs I used to play. When I stopped there were about 20 people that had gathered around. Saying they had never seen anyone play up close before. I went back a few weeks later, and the manager came out to greet me and shake my hand. He said he's hand several people come into the store purchasing guitars and commenting about some guy who was playing a display guitar. he researched the store security video and recognized my face. he said I was welcome to come in and play anytime. That was great. haven't had a chance to get back there yet.

I absolutely LOVE(ED) THE TEMPTATIONS ! ! ! I'm an old white boy from the 70s who grew up with MOTOWN Blarin on the radio and record player! (remember record players?) ;-)

Love of music knows no race! I love it having my white brothers and sisters appreciate motown.
Don't apologize for being a white kid. We had Motown and the Beach Boys. Not a bad place to be.
You'll notice a dif in Motown sound between the female artists as well. With Martha and the Vandellas and The Supremes....way more sax. Male voices, not the sax.

The dramatic vocals and production of this great record are still stunning. Plus there's Norman's poetry: "When I look into your eyes-- a reflection of a face I see. I'm hurt, downhearted and worried girl, 'cause that face doesn't belong to me." And now there's this absolutely brilliant extended version my "mosogotam."

Someone mentioned to me that vinyl records sound better than today's media. I told them "Yes, because the songs were better". I sure miss my hometown Motown, Stax and Vee-Jay sounds.

Rod Stewart idolized David Ruffin. He said it was thrill to perform with him in Detroit in the 1970's shortly after leaving The Faces.

Yea, they called it the "Doo"! We has just moved to the Northwest side of Detroit. I was used to are the Jitter bugs (JBs) wear that style. The matching loud color pencil pants, shirt, silk muscle shirt thickNthin socks, shoes, and Doo rag. 60s style. Haha. JBs. My parents said we were too young (7), and that we had to move on and pick a new (next) set of role models. Still stuck with the Temps when they switched to Afros.
