This is not about who's right or wrong, but about the safety of Volvo. If that white car with sushi brand that hit the truck at that speed, the driver would be pulled out hours later.
That's a common problem where I live. Look at the Volvo coming since the beginning. The 3 cars ahead slowed down. The Volvo just switched to the left. I think the agressive driving is the main cause of this (and many other) easily avoidable accident. People act like they're playing a videogame. It's like people around them are just things, just obstacles to go through. 🤔
That's actually incorrect. Notice the solid line? No other vehicle crosses it as it's obviously 2-way traffic. The turning vehicle was in the proper lane but even without the turn signal the Volvo driver was coming way too fast especially considering where they were (curve and rest area).

The driver of the smaller vehicle could not have turned the left this way, this is a prohibited conversion. He would have to enter the courtyard of the gas station first and get around the roundabout.

the best safety 'feature' of ANY car is the driver. The Volvo guy was going way too fast and passing at that point -- WTF? Glad nobody got seriously hurt but the Volvo guy totally caused this accident.

Owning and driving a volvo does not preclude ypu from driving sensibly , distance to the bend and this drivers' obvious lack of hazard perception/risk analysis were definately factors in what could have been an avoidable collision. Adjusting your speed to the road and conditions should be your primary safety method as opposed to relying on the secondary safety features of your car. oh yeah BTW I drive a Volvo V60 so basically in this case he was lucky he was driving a volvo as it potentially saved him from himself.
Granted, in this case, the Volvo was speeding. However, When I'm driving in my car, my only responsibility is the safety of myself and my occupants. If I can avoid a crash, sure, but I'm not putting myself at jeopardy for someone else's ineptitude.... say for instance, driving off the road because someone cut me off. I'll slow down, but I'm not making abrupt changes in the trajectory of my vehicle.

That damage was really good for that speed, I mean I would think that after hitting something at that speed the car would be unrecognisable but damn... And the fact he opened the door and walked out... Well, sadly we don't know anything about internal bleedings etc because the inside of your body can't withstand what your car can but yeah... Still impressive.

It was actually the Volvo's fault for speeding. The other vehicle needs to work on it's lane merging to be more gradual rather than a sharp turn but this could have been avoided if the Volvo driver was travelling slower to switch to the right lane rather than continuing to the left

primeira coisa a legislação diz bem claramente que quando alguém for adentrar igual o carro branco foi adentrar deveria esperar insegurança no acostamento com a seta ligada, segunda é proibido ultrapassagem nesses locais aonde tem postos escolas e outras coisas parecidas para não ocorrer isso ambos estavam errados

In Brazil, overtaking is done in the left lane. Volvo was right, the driver just needed to be smarter. It looks like he didn't even try to brake.

Culpa foi do carro branco, que inadvertidamente ingressou nas duas faixas sem dar seta e olhar o retrovisor.
Ter um bom carro e nao ter o mínimo de refexo para usar os freios. Mesmo que o cara errou em crusar, ele poderia ter evitado ou mesmo amenizado e ainda que se tocasse com o carro, nao teria chegado a bater violentamente com o caminhão.

Discordo totalmente, além da velocidade excessiva (uns 140km/h) neste local do acidente era faixa dupla também, ou seja, mesmo se o condutor do volvo estivesse em velocidade menor ele não poderia realizar a ultrapassagem naquele local.

primeira coisa a legislação diz bem claramente que quando alguém for adentrar igual o carro branco foi adentrar deveria esperar insegurança no acostamento com a seta ligada, segunda é proibido ultrapassagem nesses locais aonde tem postos escolas e outras coisas parecidas para não ocorrer isso ambos estavam errados
