When 2020 Hollywood thinks it invented bold and strong women in cinema...
They invented entitled, dislikeable, annoying women in cinema. These ladies are the real deal.
All Hollywood invented in 2020 was “double the amount of lonely cat ladies”
It is too bad this genre didn't grow in popularity I can only imagine the gems they could have made had their popularity sky rocketed in their countries and the U.S. I do think what we saw from Yukari, Moon, Khan, Rothrock, Nishiwaki, Sibelle, and others were only scratching the surface of their talent

The truth is that the duo of Cynthia Rothrock & Michelle Yeoh opened the doors for success of the remaining 'girls with guns' actresses: Moon Lee,Yukari Oshima,Sibelle Hu,Cynthia Khan,Kara Hui,the late Anita Mui, etc; they will FOREVER b regarded as LEGENDS & ICONS of d 'girls with guns' genre!
Kara Hui was a huge star before both of them, as was Anita, but I get your point.

@@churro9283 you're right, and we could go back even before Kara Hui with Angela Mao, Chia Ling, Cheng Pei Pei and more, but prior to the Girls with Guns genre in the 80s, all these other female stars were more involved in period martial arts films and in the WuXia genre
@@A-Better-Tomorrow Michelle Yeoh also wasn't a martial artist nor Moon Lee, they came from a dance background I think, so it was easy for them to adapt to the choreography
Moon lee is number 1. She has perfect combination between her perfect beauty plus her cuteness and her martial arts acting is flawless.
Moon Lee was the de facto and in some cases the premier heroine of that period, the first HK Charlie's Angel followed by Yukari Oshima, Cynthia Khan, Sibelle Hu and others.
This was awesome. HK action movies of that era are something really special

I love them all those famous martial arts action queens but Yukari Oshima aka Cynthia Luster is my all time favorite ❤️She was popular here in my Country in Philippines, because do some few Movies here but then all of these are great on there on way ,they all have there own styles in there own way.
Yukari is my favourite besides Moon Lee and she is considered to be the second Charlie's Angel of Hong Kong and presumably one of the leaders.
These legendary HK fighting Queens of the silver screen have cemented their legacy in blood and tears to establish an indomitable legacy that will never be surpassed by anyone until the present day.
Classic Hong Kong action Babes are legendary and ABSOLUTELY DROP dead GORGEOUS
It's a shame Hong Kong doesn't make films like these any more. The 80s and 90s were the best. I fell in love with both Michelle Yeoh and Moon Lee. I wish Moon was still active in the film industry. Hopefully her politics aren't as bad as current day Jackie Chan's are. She's wonderful.

If today's generation of action movie goers would ask what is classic hardcore action? The answer would be the old school world of Hong Kong Cinema in the 80s and 90s. Even if they were to ask who would you recommend? Let them know to look no further than Kara Hui, Sharon Yeung Pan-Pan, Michelle Yeoh, Cynthia Rothrock, Moon Lee, Yukari Oshima, Yeung Lai-Ching (Cynthia Khan), Sibelle Hu Hui-Ching, Michiko Nishiwaki and Sophia Crawford.
For me, Moon Lee, Cynthia Rothrock and Michelle Yeoh are awesome!

@@albertnazarita3255 it's true, Moon Lee, Michelle Yeoh and Joyce Godenzi weren't trained martial artists they came from a dancing background so it was still easy for them to learn the moves and adapt to the choreography.... Yukari Oshima, Cynthia Rothrock and Cynthia Khan did do martial arts though, but I think Cynthia Khan only picked up martial arts later on, she ended up doing taekwondo

unfortunately , they forgot Jade Leung was popular through the movie Black Cat and now she is in the movie New Kung Fu Cult Master 2022 .
Jade Leung was the last of her generation theoretically because she was only introduced in the closing period of the HK cinema industry as an attempt to reinvigorate the rapidly fading world of HK action cinema and despite Black Cat being a success, it was insufficient in a long-term to maintain the stability of the industry as the handover loomed over the horizon.

I agree. Now hongkong had alot of drug trafficking movie related to thailand and golden triangle.
Imagine cynthia return as Inspector carrie (the same movie character) under yhe FBI was invited to catch a druglord in Thailand. Together with Michelle Yeoh's char help again.
