@@IntuitiveTennishere in Europe vs touch is cheaper than Wilson gut so we need a disclaimer! ❤
People like you are the best thing on youtube God bless you
been playing with 100% poly since ever but I defo lack too much power as an intermediate player. I'm gonna try the hybrid with natural gut or full Hawk. I'll keep you updated.
Niko, I can’t believe how accurate this list was. I’ve tried many of these strings and you broke down the feeling of them succinctly.
💯
nick you should do more tennis tech breakdowns maybe like different string patterns, how often to string and shoe stuff. As someone who doesnt know alot about racquet stuff and tech it's nice to know
I am a rec player with a minor tennis elbow. After watching this video, I tried the super smash at the tension of 46, and it feels amazing. My elbow is the most pain-free ever.
💯🔥🙏
I had been suffering from golfer’s arm for years. You made me try lower tensions, haven’t had any elbow problems since then again :)
💯🙌
Great video Nic. I have LK 3 (in Germany) and use the Pure Aero 98. Now in the carpet season, I changed from a full bed of RMP Blast Rough 25 kg/24 kg to Babolat Gut 25 kg/RPM Blast Rough 24 kg. I really enjoy the feel and elasticity of the gut on the fast carpets indoors.
💯
Nick, I followed your advice on another video about using co-polyester monofilament string and eventually strung mine at 45 pounds (replacing the multi-filament string). While I didn't have any arm issue with my old set-up, It really does feel a lot more effortless with this new set-up!
Always good to hear you talking about the tennis gear Nick!
I have been using Kirschbaum Supersmash Orange strings for over 3 years. They are fabulous! Less than 50 euro per reel. Great for rec players. At one point back in 2021 I decided to try so many different strings from Luxilon Alu Power, Babolat RPM, Tecnifibre Black Code, Head Hawk, Velocity, Yonex Polytour Rev, etc. Kirschbaum was so much better than any of these. Totally unbelievable how this string performs. I am 4.0 rec player, and trust me guys, Nick is absolutely right about that string. Also from the same company: Kirschbaum Max Power - great string.
There is something about Kirschbaum company and their strings. They are so much cheaper than strings form Wilson, Babolat, Luxilon, etc, however they provide so much value for the money. Try them out if you haven't done so yet🤓
Glad you like them Milan 💯💯
how did you strung? used Kirschbaum for mains or cross? if not full blend which other string you used for hybrid?
Totally concur, the orange strings are great: good for arm, control, and power at 48lb here.
Thank you 🌕👍
💯
Nick ordered two packages had my Donnays strung to 53 pounds what a difference! Thanks so very much no more arm pain forehand top spin also improved this combo was what I needed. Order a spool today.
💯
6:25 I've used Alu Power for the last 10 years. Strung at 59/57 lb in a Yonex DR98. No injuries or problems, despite bombing balls for 10-12 hours a week, year long. I even alternated it with the 1.28 version (Roland Garros). Switched to a Yonex 97D and Poly Tour Rev, for more control, the 97D in standard from, was almost identical to my "tuned" DR, in weight, SW and balance. The 97D is just a smidge head heavier...and it drives me crazy sometimes :D
12:10 I have just recommended the 4G to an "advanced" beginner and it was well received.
Hi Nic. Took up tennis 3yrs ago at 57. Played just about every single day since then. Tried all sorts of rackets and strings but have to say putting Super Smash in my eZone is an addictive combination. Thanks 👍
💯
At what tension?
What tension please?
I am stringing Kirschbaum also for my team mates but I used the max power rough, also at lower tension. My preferred string hower is the MSV HEX 1.23, this in combination with Kirschbaum gut feeling. It gave me, stringed at 24-25kg, a very solid, fast, baseline play. My balls are landing approximately 4-10 inches before the baseline, and I can easily crate spin if needed. Worth notice: I play with the Wilson Pro Staff RF Autograph.
I've tried Kirschbaum Super Smash Orange (KSSO) bc of what you said previously for a long time ago. From before I've played with Head Velocity and it works quite well for me. When I've tried KSSO and I realize that it's a great string, after a while I combined KSSO in mains with Velocity in crosses and I've found the best combination for me. Now I play with this combination in 2013 Bab AeroPro Drive (KSSO @56 and Vel @52) and in 2015 Wilson Blade 104 (KSSO @56 and Vel @56). Both setups works very, very well for me. I'm able to play with guys who are 8-28 years younger than me. I'm 61 YO and no arm distress or any issues!
Thanks for your work, energy and time you put in you YT-channels! 👏

With Nikola's expertise and strings suggestions I was stringing for my sons last 2 years.. always hybrid..
Mains with KOrangeSMash (from 21kg until 23,5kg)
and crossed with
a) Head Velocity 1,30 23,5 / 24 kg
Soft (to arm) combination still in high tension range. Powerfull set up + Confort/ Feeling. HV fraying after 6-8 h use.
or
b) Poly Star 1,20 21,5kg (with mains KOSM at 22kg).
Power & Control . Ideal indoor.
M & X hybrid works nicely in lower tension..below 22kg...predictably strokes and accuracy. Good snap back Mains (M) & Crossed (X).
Remarkable that strings as hybrid behaving as you are expecting with your stringing specs/strategy.
c) Kirschbaum Pro Line Evolution 1,25 22 kg until to 23,5kg.. (KPLE is softer than KOSM but has more power so needed more tension to have better control of ball. Set up I put and preferably for clay windy days)
d) Isospeed Cream 1,28 22 kg...soft ( to arm), crispy, a bit of spin..but string breaking after 7 or 8 h use.
Note: KOSM 1,23 as Main always my first election. (durability, power, control, a bit if spin,etc...ALL in the same string changing a bit up/down tension as preferably for you.
Rackets in use?
Head Speed S/Team 285 g unstrung...customized for sons to reach 310-312 g (with dampener included)
Your advice is so realistic especially for recreational level players..Thanks a lot...

Did i miss the Solinco Hyper G? Its in the thumb image.
Hello, the best string with very big diference is Luxilon Original 130, very good control, confort and power. I dont understain you say this string has not power . This string have very good power and control. I have tried all the string in your video
Such an important video. I guess we all try to use the pro strings when they’re prob not really suited to us
No kidding, I was looking for orange strings because they go well with my new racket design (which is blue and orange, wilson blade v8 RG edition). Now you're telling me the best strings I can get are orange?!? My life is complete
For rec level, I found these strings to be responsive and have long-lasting playability: Gut - Luxilon natural gut (has more protective coating than the other gut options), monofilament - Restring Zero 1.23mm strung below 45 lbs
Yeah Nick but what about your mysterious all white racket huh
clearly a wilson shift
Looks like the Tecnifibre ISO 305
no it doesnt have the lettering on the hoop - its a shift
It’s not a mystery at all. It’s a Babolat Pure Drive +. It’s just spray painted white. He’s been using that racquet for a long time.

Thoughts on Solinco Hyper G & Confidential strings?
excellent video, I use super smash orange on mains and synthetic gut on cross at 52lbs on a yonex Ezone 100 and it works like a charm. Recently i tried other strings like Hyper G at 50lbs and it played well for couple of hours and after that it was a dead string.
Gosen was a string i started with years ago. The only thing about it was it lost tension QUICK. But playability was awesome
I like the Gosen AK Pro CX which is described as a high end synthetic gut string. Cross it with Ghost Wire from Tru Pro (formerly Tier One) which I is probably my favorite to date.
Yes, you acknowledge Gosen. I just test it & it’s so unique
I finally gave in and tried Super Smash Orange, and was pleasantly surprised by the result.
I did find Super Smash to be very responsive and crisp feeling--even more than the Hyper G Soft, and much more so than the Black Widow.
I've been struggling with tennis elbow for the past 7 months, and I was pretty surprised how comfortable Super Smash was.
I know you give synthetic gut a bad rap, but I used Gosen OGSM in my crosses, and there's something about that string that helps the polys in the mains snap back nicely.
I think I may take your advice and go full poly with Super Smash and lower my tension 5 lbs. or so.
Thanks for all of the great advice you give to us recreational players!
4.0s like myself sometimes think we need to use pro-level gear, and you very gently bring us back to reality for the better.
Syn gut can work if that’s your preference and you are used to it. If it works it works, no need to change
Got my set of Kirschbaum Super Smash Orange for our rackets!
💯
Great video Nick, I like your history of strings and your view on responsiveness. I have been a on a string journey for a couple of years now and I have found Babolat VS does not fray as much at the Wilson Gut. I have done poly on the mains with Yonex pro tour recently but the poly dies too quickly and they you have to get both strings cut out when restringing which is rather expensive. However, if you have gut on the mains you do not need to cut both strings out and you only need to change the crosses so thats why I put poly on the crosses as the gut holds its tension. I will try Bablot RPM blast on the crosses and Bablot VS on the mains next.
Haha that’s a good trick. I’ve done it too a few times.
I did the same
A) main with Kirschbaum Super Mash & crossed Head Velocity (multi)
B) main with Yonex Poly Tour Pro & crossed with Head Velocity (multi)
Changing only crossed every 6-8 h when starting with fraying.
Re-stringing mains + crossed arriving to 12h-15h use of main (with 2nd set of crossed arriving to 6-8 h use or multi is stsrting fraying.
Main with poly never left more than 15 h use as limit to cut it off).
I am stringing for my sons and saving (my) time.
Results of stringing strategy works.
Super thankful for this video Nick
🙏
Thanks so much for these recommendations. I tried the Luxilon 4G at 40 pounds and it is amazing. As you pointed out, I faced a lot of pushback from the stringer but they eventually caved.
💯
I like Solinco tour bite soft, but used to play with Luxilon alu floro.
I had a revelation when switching from a multifilament string to Luxilon Alu Power. So much better. I used these for years until I switched to Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable which gives you great spin, control and durability. The latter is to be considered if you don't want or you can't string your racket too often.
Had a tennis elbow years ago and switched to Babolat natural gut. With string savers the strings last much longer. I’m now using the Volkl hybrid which is less expensive and last even longer. I usually have gut in the mains but just tried out the gut in the crosses to see if it gives me more spin. I’m getting a bit of discomfort in the elbow and will go back to gut in the mains. I’ll also try 17 gauge instead of 16 gauge next.
I’m a pretty big hitter and was thinking of switching to a multifilament from poly. I had Solico Confidental on my Wilson 100 v8 at 25kg and I felt like I had to swing too hard with my one handed backhand. Would Wilson sensation at 24kg do the job or should I just stick with a poly and drop the tension to 21-22kg?
For the super smash orange is full bed still comfortable or still better to hybrid? At moment to get more pocketing feel I use tecnifibre x1
Got a reel of the 16 &17 gauge Orange Smash!!
Thank you for the information. Out of the top 5 for rec players, do they also apply for top spin ?
I think federer still uses babolat vs natural gut. Its just packaged under wilson when he provides to the tournament stringers.
Great video, thank you very much! The recommendations together with a little bit string theory and string history are super helpful. Great to see a German brand being on your number 1 😁
💯
Tough to pick a top 5 or 10 GOAT strings w/all the strings available nowadays. Nice list & some great tips otherwise so kudos on the post. My setup on my Head PT2 is TF Triax 1.28 M56 & Head Hawk 1.25 X52 & provides great feel & control imo. While Triax is a relatively new issue I'd have to rate it over gut (for better control & durability while still providing high quality feel) & as my favorite Multi of all time would prolly be at the top of my list.
I second Triax as a perfect string at the recreational level (and as you mention it, if you need more spin or more control, you can use it in the mains with a slick poly in the crosses, like the Hawk)
Good list, Polylon though? Anyway my list of favorite strings of now time:
Solinco Confidential
Yonex Poly Tour Pro
Tier One Black Knight
ALU Power
Weiss Canon Ultra Cable
Thank you Nick I have followed your recommendation and strung my Yonex Vcore 100 with the Kirschbaum Orange, 23x24 kg. Coming from the Yonex Polytotr Rev 1,25 I found great comfort and feel, the only problem is that now there is so much power that I will have to get used to it, the first time I often lost control and went too long with my forehand. But overall my impression is very good, I think I will love thi string as soon as I get used to its power.
Try a thicker gauge
@@IntuitiveTennis Thanks again for the response!
@@IntuitiveTennis Hi Nick shoud I try the Super smash orange 1,28 (16 gauge) then?

Nick, thanks a lot. Where I live only Kirschbaum Super Smash 1.3 /16 is available. Looks yellowish. Would you recommend that equally to the orange 1.23?

Ty nick, just threw an order@@IntuitiveTennis!
Is 24kg good for my Babolat Pure Drive Team?
i am a 3.0 player
Hello, what's the deal with the sizes when buying strings? For example, with "Head Lynx Tour" I can choose between 1.20 mm/18 g, 1.25 mm / 17 g and 1.30 mm / 16 g. Thanks in advance!
If you do allu and gut -- should they both be at 40lbs(My reference tension) -- And what percentage should prestretch the gut at -- 10% or 15%
Hi, Nick can you do a top 5 Beginner Friendly Syrings and a top 5 Intermediate level strings Thanks!
Another benefit of Luxilon Big Banger is they're quite durable. It takes me months of hard hitting before I break them.
Hey Nick I use ALU power rough and I am a 5.0 utr level. What tension is better for 2023 Babolat pure aero for main and cross?
For Alu power I always recommend sub 50 lbs
Hi Nick, I have the Yonex Percept 100 and I want to test de Luxilon 4G with 40lbs. What do you think? Works well with the racket?
Nick! What about kirschbaum max power?
Great string. Less responsive then super smash tho
@@IntuitiveTenniswhy less responsive? It's stiffer according to tennis warehouse, shouldn't it mean more responsive then?
Head Hawk is one of the strings I like the least in my setup, I string at 50lbs and I string gut in mains and poly in crosses. And I have an example when natural gut 16 broke the Solinco Tour Bite 17
How you implement 4Gs in a Hybrid setup with a multifilament (X-1 BiPhase, etc)?
Can you string the mains with multifilament 10lbs higher than 4G in the crosses at low-mid 40s? Or vice versa (e.g. 4G in the mains, multi in the crosses)
Excellent overview!
Sure, it’s worth a try
@@IntuitiveTennis 🤞🏽 …I’ll give the 4G in the crosses a shot at around 44lbs, or is -43 suggested?
Thanks for that video Nick. What do you think about Kirschbaum Spiky Black Shark? Playing with those for a year now (17g, 51), good feel and responsiveness.
💯
I used a full Wilson NG in my racquet and the string broke in 2 weeks.i hit the ball very flat with very liittle topspin and. It still broke. But I used the Luxor NG in full setup and it lasted over a year.
I love your channel, the instruction and the time you take to explain everything . However, I am real concerned about your recommendation for the rec player to use ANy poly string including Kirschenbaum poly string ( the orange one). I have bad case of tennis elbow and i would be reluctant to go near the poly string EXCEPT if i put it in the cross of a hybrid with gut in the mains. I am 4.5 player
I can attest to this, I have never had elbow issues with any racquet strung with a multi - but felt some pain shortly after switching to poly (it was Lynx Tour around 48-50lbs, perhaps I will give it another try later at a lower tension in my new, arm-friendly Prince ATS Tour).
You have bad case of tennis elbow and you play with natural gut?
@@IntuitiveTennisyes. i went to a less stiff racket to head boom from pure drive and have one racket strung with vs gut \ triax and the other with velocity mlt. stringing around 52
Hi nick,
I have always stuck with the rpm blast for years strung at 50lbs
Just wondering what happens when I loosen the tension? Do you have any recommnded tension for this string?
I mainly stick with monofilaments because they are harder to Break and strings are quite expensive.
Thank you for this video, its an eye opener, makes me want to rethink about trying other strings..
Rpm blast can be strung in with low tensions but this depends on your playing style. There will be less control the lower the tension
At the recreational level I prefer Solinco Hyper G and I believe it is more popular than others mentioned 😅
It's too soft and doesn't offer much control. Very similar to Luxilon Element.
Try Tour Byte.
Hi Nikola! This video was very helpful, thank you so much! I've learned a lot from your videos! I really like the KIRSCHBAUM string, but I can't order it to Europe from the link in the description. Could you please help me with this: if I find a product on Amazon UK with the name "Kirschbaum Super Smash tennis String-Orange Trim" and select the 1.23 thickness, will I get the exact string that you recommended?
Thank you very much for your help in advance! :)
Yes same thing 💯
HelloNick, Iam a rec level player is it ok to use the luxilon 4g 130 instead of the 125? The wilson store in my country dont have the 125.
It’s prob ok if u string loose
@@IntuitiveTennis Thanks
you like vokl poly or confidential. or vokl psycho? how is kirchenboaum orange vs head hawk for tension maintenance. ?
Nick, what do you think about the Solinco Confidential 16L 1.25mm at 48lbs tension? Is it a good co-poly string?
any thoughts on solinco tour bite line? i play with diamond rough on all my rackets and it feels great. thanks, as always, Nick!
can I use Kirschbaum ( what type of string it is? ) and Head hawk monofilament togather? which to use in main and cross ( tension I get I will keep around 48 to 54 lb )
Weird but why not 🙌🙌
@@IntuitiveTennis I want to try based on your recommandation. Please let me know if any other combination to use. Or I should go full. Monofilament full seems concerning to me. Kindly share your thoughts.
Best to test it out and see how it goes, both strings are good
Hi Nick, I use a blade 98 with syngut at 60 pounds, I wanted to try a poliester monofilament at 45, you think is ok or is to much change?
It’s a huge change. You can try but if you like your setup stick with it. If not, you will be positively surprised.
@@IntuitiveTennis Okay, I'm gonna try it thanks
Thank you, this is a very valuable piece of information, I will try the Babolat RPM first and Luxilon second, I've been using babolat hurricane pro for longer so far, last long but gives less feel...
What tension is the best for LXN blade v9 101 ?
so if I want to string low like 15kg, Luxilon 4g? Or any other good poly options?
I took your advice and gave up on trading my PURE AERO on a WILSON CLASH 100 (I have arm issues). I'll stick to the stiffer racquet, but change my strings (Velocity MLT Black, 50 lbs) to the Kirschbaum Orange 123, at 42 pounds (could go lower, but I think this is good enough). I'm a 3.5 player, not a hard hitter, and I don't even know if my stroke is fast enough to make a difference on the overall impact. But I'm really looking forward to this change. Hope this helps, my arm is in pretty bad shape, my tennis elbow became now a whole TENNIS ARM 🤣
Hi. I am curious to know if Supersmash helped? I also have TE, my racquet is a little stiffer and I have been using a “softer poly” mains at 48 and a multi at 50. Arm still hurts! Supersmash says it is quite stiff and loses tension. What’s your experience?
@@ryansolomon4178well, it’s been a while…To make it short: I didn’t like it, it wasn’t helping me with my arm issues. But I’m “blaming” the racket now. Changed to Yonex vCore 100, that made a huge difference for me - no idea why exactly, since I’ve been stringing at 48lbs and it feels great. Anyway, I ditched my Pure Aero, and been testing different strings, but none of them caused any harm to my arms.
Is the orange set they are selling on their website same as the super smash orange mentioned on this video?
Yes
Nick, I use Luxilon Alu Power big banger 1.2mm at 42psi and I don't get any deadness issues, I think maybe I am offsetting the stiffness with thinner strings and lower tension - would you recommend this?
Yes lower tension makes it less dead
If u like it stick with it
You were right. I stop wearing the Nike 9.5 Vapors shoes for two years. I came back to them and put on my shoes and these just fit like a glove. I love them. I hope they go back to the older version and not use the "skin" shoes.
Hi Nik what about crossing it with Kirshbaum synthetic Gut will it improve or make the string less effective ?
I wouldn’t, cross it with multi if this is your preference
Thanks Nik, so I guess for a 100 head frame 50 lbs is well suited or would you go a bit higher ? 3.5 player here need help with power 56 year old guy
Do you recommend synthetic gut string?
Also, Head Hawk is a co-poly, with high dynamic stiffness and low elasticity/resilience (which would translate to how you describe responsiveness). Have you tried Kirshcbaum Flash Orange or Green?
Thanks so much this is really helpful. Could you give your thoughts on Solinco Revolution 16L?
Based on your recommendation, I searched but could not find any local shops that carry Kirschbaum. So I strung with Luxilon 4G at 35lbs. Took it out and played......WOW, loved it. However, is there a benefit of Kirschbaum Super Smash Orange other than cost? The 4G was pretty costly.
Super smash is more responsive than 4g
But if u like it (4g at 35), stick w it
Good morning, I bought the Super Smash in December 2022, in an earlier string reel video, you recommended the Super Smash. But in that video you said not to string above 50 pounds, I bought the 1.23 17. Has the Super Smash changed any between 2022-24 since you now say you can string it at 50-55 pounds? Thank you.
I can be strung up to 55 based on personal preference but I recommend below 50
@@IntuitiveTennis Ok, thank you. 🙂
What about sumer smash orange 1.28? In my country i didnt found 1.23
Hey Nick, would ALU Power Rough work at 47/45? I like low tension better than high tension.
You can go even lower
@@IntuitiveTennis What pound should I go lower by 2 pounds different on the main and cross.
I use the Golden set synthetic gut. 55-60 lb depends on the racket I’m using.
Hello Nick,
I purchased online the Evo Aero Lite and asked the store to string with the orange Kirschbaum at 46 lbs being beginner / intermediate level. But they refused saying it’s not good for that taquet and should only use multifilament. Did I get something wrong ?
You didn’t do anything wrong. Complete nonsense what they are saying
@@IntuitiveTennis thank you. I politely told them to just send me the raquet unstrung and will have it strung at my club :)
Hello Nick. I have a black string on an older racquet. I bought the racquet as it is. The string is exceptional, but how can I find out what string modell that is. It seems to be profiled, with 7 edges, but even this way it is hard to find it. Do you know any stringer, or a company, or a forum that can tell me what string modell this is ? I could send a sample from the string, without any problems, although I live in Europe. I play at an advanced recreational level. This string could help me even further.
Check with tennis nerd
Hello ,very interesting thank you. What to think about tecnifibre ice code, black code 4s, cyclone v square for rec players . Thank you
@nick, very nice video. Thank you. Do you have string recommendation for developing competitive junior? My 11 yo boy is about to switch from 26" to 27" racket (light version), as well as from green to adult ball. Read a lot that either synthetic gut or multi-filament are recommended for young players.
Juniors can use the polys I recommend in this video
Hi Nick, really helpful video. I have been suffering from elbow & wrist problems while playing tennis so will try your recommendations out! One quick question: Could you explain why you recommend a thinner string (i.e. higher gauge strings) please? Thanks!
Thinner = more responsive
i learned orange from this site and been using it for 2 years almost... glad to see that it is No.1... I recall it was mentioned at one of the videos at this time.. I wonder if the discount is applicable globally or only for US.. it was also ridiculously economical... the reel was for 60 bucks
I think it’s USA and Canada only but u can try
At the recreational level, unless you are a notorious string breaker, use a high quality multifilament (Wilson NXT, Head Velocity), or even more so a poly fused multi, like Tecnifibre Triax. Tension around 50lbs.
These will hold tension much better, and even with some fraying, keep their playability properties for a long time.
If you are not a string breaker, you could use a poly (monofilament) for years, but it will lose tension and go dead, generating harsh vibrations and causing arm issues.
If you are using poly, restring frequently (max. 20h with a set), don't wait until it breaks. And of course use low tensions as mentioned in the video.
I played roughly 13 matches with my Luxilon ALU Power (54 LBS) , and like you said , i'v contracted tennis elbow (half year break) I'm recreational, i dont recommend that string for amateur
Yes be careful with that one
How do you know when to try different strings?
When u have pain, playing poorly, or general discomfort when hitting. Look at tension first then strings
I feel a bit different I am a rec player and I find the Luxilon Alu Power quite powerful and really responsive during the first 1 and half hour. Later it becomes more dead and it loses big part of the feel. I was stringing about 23kg.
What I like more about the strings are the Pocketing, this feel that the ball sinks in to the string is what gives me the control and confidence and I find for example the RPM blast great on that. I did not try the KB super smash or the other monofilaments you recomend just the 4K as well in 23 kg and I liked it less than the RPM. Some multis also feel great pocketing but no control at all. The only multi I like is the Tecnifibre Triax
Is there any durability loss from 17g strings vs 16g strings? You recommend 17g for beginners but isn't 16g better durability wise?
Durability is better with 16g
..why not hyper g, tour bite or poly tour pro?!
i'm using a hybrid babolat gut mains and 4g rough in the crosses - i wouldn't have it below 55lb though. (rf97) but i'm also loving tecnifibre triax. thanks for the video
I have mostly been using Head Synthetic Gut PPS for a few years. They feel fine and I really don't have any problem hitting hard with them.
But I know you have a very extensive experience with strings and recreational players using them, so I might give your favorite orange string a try next summer. Worst case scenario, it changes nothing or I don't like it and I go back to my usual strings. But maybe some of the issues you highlight with cheaper synthetic gut strings are ameliorated and I play a smidge better that way.
No need to change if u like your current strings
I was so nervous you'd name the Hyper-G as the best recreational level string, especially that I see it in the video's thumbnail. This would completely devastate me.
@@eldartop1634 As with all thing related to tennis gear, this is personal. I simply can’t stand this string. To me a racquet strung with it, no matter what tension, instantly feels like a Fisher Price 99c toy. I think the only reason this string is so popular is due to the catchy string and packaging color, it immediately stands out. If you look at the miniature thumbnail of this video, the only string packaging you can recognize is Hyper-G. So my honest kudos to Solinco for marketing of this product - marketing is a huge huge part of tennis and other brands have lots to learn from them. This was my first co-poly string and the reason I bought it is exactly the one I described above - catchy color, name and (pun intended) hype. I’ve gone through several strings of similar type since and after 2 years came back to this string - it is a disaster string that offers neither power nor control. It is dead but not like Luxilon but dead like a dead end street. But again, this is my personal opinion, I know people who would die defending this string and people who would destroy me even if they played with a racquet strung with a fishing wire let alone an actual tennis string like Hyper-G. Again, I think big part of popularity of this string is a phenomenon where players who don’t have their own opinion or simply are not experienced enough to actually feel the difference and form an opinion, in order to tame their insecurity they would rather stick with what is being hyped to assure themself they have the best possible string based on opinions based on various tennis forums and not their own evaluation.
Sampras said “Cheatalon” but my question: what is the difference between Luxilon Big Banger Original and Alu Power? I use Alu Power and love it but if I can get more control, I’ll take it! Thanks!
Hi Nick, How many meters SSO you use to prestring yours Pure drive?
11
OK thanks. for safety, divided 200 spools into 17 parts, the length will be 11.75 m. What matters is that it is sufficient :). One more than the 12m set😀
nickname Does the tension on the spool lose its properties if not used? I'm thinking about buying 200m. I play from April to November 1-2 times a week, I change the string once a year at the beginning of the season. Is a 200 m spool the choice for me? Regards
