Fun to do those once in a while. Rik Emmett said once that's the sort of thing you should do when you're lost or can't think of anything. Good advice! Thanks for watching!
Great lesson Mark! I was glad to see you did this one because you explain things so well. I'll have to listen to it a bunch and memorize how it goes the best I can. I think Angus is the hardest guy to copy I've seen so far with his unique style. AC/DC and Lynyrd Skynyrd can do amazing things mixing major and minor pentatonic! Two of my fav.s.
Yes, I sold it to an owner I thought would take good care of it. It definitely came from a broken home! :) SG's are great guitars. I didn't fall in love with the one I had, but it was a good guitar for sure.
I don't remember, but probably it was just the amp gain and maybe a little compression because I play in a quiet neighborhood. I try to use as little as possible with AC/DC.
@@MarkZabel Thanks Mark, but, in that case please tell me which amplifier can produce this overdriven sound at living room level, or have you driven the neighbors to despair despite the compression?”
Hi. I use either 009, 010 or 011 depending upon the guitar. This one has 009's - probably my slinkiest guitar, because the scale is 25", not 25.5" (Fender scale) which is the scale I usually use 009's with. I use 011's on my Jaguar, which is a 24" scale guitar and 010's on my 24.75" guitars (Gibson scale).
Seen a lot of lessons on this but this is best, well done
Thanks a bunch!!
Really enjoy your lessons. !! Thankyou

He told it very well and clearly.
Thanks!
Thanks, Mark. And thank you for another year of great lessons. I hope you have a great holiday, and I wish you a Merry Christmas!
You're very welcome Jon. Merry Christmas to you too!
solo sounds great on that melody maker!
Thanks. I love the raunchy sound I can get on it too!
I'm a couple years late catching this one, but I'm glad I did. Excellent breakdown Mark. Your playing and sound is spot on. Thanks much!
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching!

Thanks! It's (relatively) easy to get Angus' notes, but hard to get it to sound right!
Thanks for the help👍
My pleasure. Thanks for watching!
Love it, thanks👍
Sure thing. Thanks for watching!
Mate, you are one of the cleanest players on yt. You should have thousands of subscribers. Try doing some zeps or srv.
Thanks man! I'm working on that subscriber thing ... lol! I'll put some Zep on the burner. I've got some SRV coming up soon. Thanks for the comment!!
Great Mark!
Glad you enjoyed it!!
With all the videos I watch yours the easiest to learn from
Thanks!!

No problem
Thanks! :)
No problem!
You are good
Thanks!!
Your phrasing and timing are spot on here and that's the difficult part about this solo
Thank you so much!
Interesting point about your SG..Did you sell it? Just bought one today--AC/DC is the first stop. Thank you for posting, Mark.

Mark, what pedal did you use for this great sound?
I don't remember, but probably it was just the amp gain and maybe a little compression because I play in a quiet neighborhood. I try to use as little as possible with AC/DC.

AC/DC ya tiene un nuevo miembro, creo que mejor... Thanks!!
Thanks!!
what kind of guitar is that? it looks like a less Paul but the neck throws me off.
Sorry for the lateness in responding. UA-cam flagged this comment for some reason. The guitar is a Gibson Melody Maker.
Cool
Sir you are able to make it play idiot as me, you are very good teacher :D thanks!
Thanks. Glad it was helpful.

What string gauge do you use?

Does string gauge effect tone?
Thanks
