  • The B&W Companion 20K 5th wheel hitch is the perfect balance between light-weight simplicity & raw strength. I made this tutorial simple & easy to follow. The hitch is so simple and easy to install, it may scare you a little! This specific model is for Ford trucks, but they make several different variations of the companion model to suit whichever truck you have!

Incredible video! Exactly what I was looking for, and the information provided was top notch. Also, the way you ended this video almost had me in tears. I have been living that way the past few years. Time moves so fast, and we all need to make the most of it. Too many times I have told myself "later" or "maybe tomorrow". Last year, tomorrow finally came. I began traveling again, and started my UA-cam Travel Channel I have been putting off for so long. Take care, be safe,, and enjoy every minute of your friends and family.

You need lithium grease on the upright bushings. It’s in the instructions. There’s a zerk under the head too. You also don’t have to use the arm to pull the truck back to connect. Back up far enough and it snaps in. I’m not sure what your issue is with the steel pin in the handle, I’ve towed with my B&W for 9 years. Same “crappy” pin. lol.

Don’t forget grease either on the kingpin or the jaws. Don’t run it dry

Great video, thanks for taking time to create it. We currently have this hitch in a Ford F350 with a 6 3/4' bed, do you know if this same hitch will work in a Ford F350 with an 8' bed? Assuming the turn over ball is further back in the longer bed so the back of the bed won't be too close to the trailer?

The instructions state that you should not have to tap or bump the locking arms to engage the puck system, so if your hitting it , its way too tight, ....and yes the arms matter, you have them in the forward most position, that's about 3" ahead of the axle, if you flip them around its about an inch ahead of the axle, so cab clearance could be an issue, ........and we have many years of towing and that pin is definitely not an issue, ....go buy a padlock and put that in there if you are that bothered.

I see you put the pivot arms in the lowest position. what is the distance from the top of the floor corrugation in the truck bed to the top of the coupler plate (with the coupler level)? thanks, trying to see if this hitch will work for my setup

Went back on a lot of your videos for a thumbs up…you should have way more subs for the content your showing. Thank you.

Appreciate the video, but it's obvious you either didnt read or understand the provided instructions. It does make a difference in how the pivot arms are mounted, depending on your application. If you're going to demonstrate how to install / use something then at least follow the instructions. And if you deviate, explain why. Cant believe how obsessed you were with the latch pin.

@@CrushedEMTB Why such hateful comments? I appreciate the time Mr Lopez put into making the video and I'm certain he wants to put out the best video he can, so pointing out things that could improve his future videos might be appreciated.
