In this video I'm going to go over the whole mixing process inside Logic Pro X and take you through all the key plugins, show you how to approach the mixing process, and also give you a workflow, so if you're a Logic Pro user this is going to be really helpful because it's very specific to that DAW.

I can’t believe I just had access to this kind of content for free.
Thank you very much for that, mate.
Yeah this would've been a fortune back in the day! Kinda nuts that you can sit and watch it for free now.
Indeed! Thank you!
It's pretty crazy what you can master from your bedroom nowadays
@@MusicMatters_SC I’m about to watch the entire video and take notes lol 💪🏽 it’s a 2 year old video but it should help
Seriously!
Literally walking around my house randomly singing:
*YOU MADE A BAD MAN OUTTA ME, AND I CAN HARDLY BREATHE* 🤣🔥
NOW LO-OVE DONT COME EASYYY
Same but I'm singing Batman
EDIT: I see someone already made the same joke in the comments
Ive watched this enough times where that line is now etched into my soul lmao
As someone who has been recording and mixing music for almost 10 years I wish I had access to content like this when I first started. The world of audio production can be incredibly confusing but this was such a great straight forward step by step layout of the entire process. Awesome work!
Did anyone else fall in love with this song and wan't to hear the entire thing by the time this class was over? yes, I said CLASS!! This was not a UA-cam tutorial this was a free and VERY WELL put together class. THANK YOU!!!
If I ever hear this song again it'll make a bad man outta ME, but I loved this class.
Not even a second of this video was skippable. So much valuable information in every minute. Truly incredible-- no tiring outro or anything like that. And you actually have headers for each section of the video too! Wow, this is such a gem.
I literally got up my chair once the class was done and gave you a standing ovation. It was just that perfect. Thank you.
Thank you :).
This is one of the most helpful videos I've seen about mixing on Logic. Thank you so much. Great work!
Probably the most comprehensive video I have ever seen on Logic. You are legitimately helping artists and producers everywhere! Good stuff!
THE most comprehensive 🇹🇹
Watching this while mixing is awesome, teaches me to establish a step by step workflow and motivates me not to drop the project, but to finish it. Thanks
One of the best videos I've ever seen on UA-cam for logic ! Thank you for this knowledge. You do such a great job with explaining.
Your equalization sweeps alone were more groundbreaking to watch than any youtube vid I've seen. Compressor lesson was wicked, and setting my template up has never been this organized. Incredible tutorial
Glad we could help!
watched the whole thing in one sitting, and took notes! THANK YOU for this valuable resource.
Happy to help!
I’m about to do the same thing
As did I. I was just going to watch the beginning and save the rest for later but watched the whole thing.
I've watched so many videos claiming to have "all the secrets" to mixing when THIS is what I was looking for all along! Thank you for breaking it down and making it all make sense!
The clarity of your mono mix is inspirational ... the guitar effects really pushed the vibe ... most comprehensive Logic tutorial ever ... thanks 🇹🇹
This is arguably the most helpful video I've ever watched on UA-cam. Appreciate what you do and thanks for providing this amazing content!
Thank you for walking us through all the plugins, it was so straight to the point and helpful! Really recommend x
Halfway in and I just wanted to take a minute to thank you because you really have no idea how much I've learned in just a little over 50 minutes. Mindblowing. Excellent quality content. Keep it up, bro.
YOU ARE THE REAL MVP. I'VE BEEN WAITING ON THIS!
This means so much for being so instructive THANK YOU!!!!
“You made a Batman out of me”
He can “hardly mbree” either.
I thought it was bad man
@@UgatonOfficial no it's def Batman
Can’t unhear it.😅
That song really did my head in after a while 😂
so im currently studying music production in England and i need to mix multiple tracks this year:D thanks for an amazing video!!! super helpful and well put together
this is one of the most helpful videos I've seen about logic thank you bro u a goat
Awesome, glad you enjoyed it!
good for edm do you think?
Really awsome 🏁🖤🔊
Completely agreed
Can you mix my song for me it has 8 stems
This is the best music production tutorial I've ever seen. Finished my first track a couple of weeks ago, but I just couldn't mix it properly. Instead of just giving us a list of steps to follow, you demonstrated a very professional workflow. That's what I liked the most. You helped me organize my mix better, and now I know what goes first. Can't thank you enough.
That's some crazy value bro 💎
I've been frustrated for a long period but when you made this video it felt like a whole new world has opened up for me. I have not tried many of your tips yet but I will step by step. Thanks so much!
compressor explanation was fantastic!! thank you!!
My pleasure!
Just started out recording at home and the beginning half of this video alone made my mix so much better! Thank you for all this info!
This was such a great video. Thank you for being so thorough in this tutorial. I’ve been using logic for a while and I learned quite a few new things watching this.
I loved your tip on setting up the pre gain to level out the tracks.
Gain Staging 11:30
Balancing 18:27
EQ 25:01
Compression 35:00
Other Dynamic Processors 51:37

It’s in the description lol
This is everything I needed. So straight forward and clear.
you are a life saver and i will likely comment on this video again because i'm only abut halfway through mixing for the first time and you have given me peace, confidence, and clarity. thank you so much.
oh man... You don't really know how great and impactful has been this training for me... I'm in debt and be back to donate. Thank you for spending such a valuable time here. Best channel by far.
dude ty so much for sharing all this knowledge ... for free
It's taking me a few days to thoroughly process all this information. Thanks a buttload!
Thank you so much for this! I've been trying to mix properly and now everything makes so much more sense. Again Thank you!
Just starting playing with mixing after being in bands for years. This is so handy even just for people wanting to know how to record themselves better. Great work
Hello, i am so pleased with this video, i have watched many videos on mixing, and most specifically the plugins, but this one is super good. very unselfishly elaborated and explained. everything is now clear to me and with this video, i know how to start mixing, points to take note of, and so on. man, what i can say, God bless you so much. a fantastic video.
Mate you’re such a legend, had no idea how to even start mixing so this has saved my life :)
Happy to help!
This is the BEST explanation of how to mix (in logic specifically for me) that I've found after years of YT videos. Well done!
This video has been so amazingly helpful. One of the best that I have seen so far! Thank you so much for the work that you have allowed me to take into my own hands. Great job!
This was so well explained, very clear, understandable and really comprehensive...great video bro!
Just want to say thanks to you for this video, has really helped, and to even bring back past knowledge and refresh memory. I find it really clear! Keep it up, looking forward to more videos!
Easily a legit masterclass. No waste of time and complete value easy enough for beginners to advanced. Amen brother, thank you so much!
I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to make this. Very informative, intuitive and extremely helpful.
Our pleasure!
I APPRECIATE this video (and others you do) so much!
This is incredibly useful. Thank you for sharing the way you work and explaining everything carefully
Thanks for doing these helpful videos Rob, we appreciate them a lot. Kudos to you my friend!
Thank you so much! This is truly very informative. I’ll be returning to this video as I mix my first songs in Logic this week. The biggest take away though, is learning that “Loo-oove don’t come easy...” 😆💚
Basically this is the best video I have ever watched on the mixing process...and I watch everything that is out there. The breadth of knowledge you covered is what I feel was missing in other people’s videos, although I have seen a few other pretty good vids... still this is the best one. Cheers from Sacramento to across the pond : )
So glad you enjoyed!
This is freaking great! Extremely easy to understand yet packed with knowledge. Thanks a lot!
Great video! I’ve been playing keys for 35 years and performing live, but only recently got into film and TV stuff. Creating realistic mock ups has been a challenge. This is very helpful. Thank you.
This is very instructive. Thank you so much!
This is incredible. Thank you!! Gain staging changed my life.
This video is indeed awesome. And I’m not even so the way through. But re the gain staging - I’m guessing normalizing wouldn’t achieve this otherwise you’d have done that. But can you explain why this is better than normalizing?
Same here! It brought a kind of flat sounding recording I made to life.
@GreediPhresh The way in the video is great, I usually use a fader to lower all the tracks first by 10DB directly to prevent my stereo out track from turning orange. Then I start balancing. This is my way I don't know if it is correct.
I think this is the most helpful video that I've seen. Before I realized it, I was through the whole thing. There are so many things that I learned and tools that I've never used .Great Job ! Thank You. I subscribed.
One of the Best I have seen so far....Great job.
that is sooooo well explained, best tutorial on youtube ever, thank you very very much!!! and for real panning, you can use in "imaging" the direction mixer
made my life S0 much easier. thank you rob!!
This answered so many questions for me. Thank you for the time and effort you put in to make this!
This video is a fabulous resource. Grateful for your abilities in mixing and explaining.
This is one of the most helpful video have encountered for mixing tips on UA-cam.
So glad we could help!
amazing!
Amazing video. Thank you for putting in all this work!
This video is great!! Thank you so much for sharing this - very helpful. I watched it in a couple parts
you deserve more than a like, i really enjoy the tutorial. thanks a lot
This was really helpful. "You made a bad man out of me...!" Thanks man. I've even subscribed to your course on Logic Pro X on Udemy. You are dope!
Really enjoying this video of what can be a tedious but massively important process. Thanks for putting out for free.
really good - lots of great information, explained a lot in a relatively short space of time
This video is quite literally invaluable, thank you so much for taking the time and effort into making this!!
Glad to help!
Thank you so so much! Very comprehensive and covers all the things that I need (as an absolute beginner) so that I can watch other videos for more info. I am currently making one-man-band videos/songs and I'm not really pop/rock focussed. Any recommendations on mixing for this type of music would be really appreciated!
Wonderful presentation and very comprehensive. By far an excellent tutorial which will vastly improve my mix, as a newie to Logic Pro X. Absoultely clear instructions and great examples use for demonstration.
wow.. absolutely speechless at all the features I've been missing out on!! Thanks a ton
"don't come easy.....easy shtuuuuuh...."
You made a bad man outta me.

LMFAOO

Followed this tutorial and it took my song from ehhhh to actually pretty decent!
ive been mixing for 5 years and I wish this was the first thing I ever watched. Amazing how well he taught and how clear you explained these topics tools & ideas
This tutorial is so helpful! The way you explain the compressor in particular is probably the best I've seen. Fantastic work!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the video, it's very useful for the Logic pro user
Glad to help!
who needs to become an audio engineering major when you got musician on a mission giving you these bombass tips?
right lol, mine came out like dis ua-cam.com/video/zqqSIi2oF9s/v-deo.html
This is a huge favor for all of us who lost in the space of mixing... Thank you...
This is one of my favourite mixing guides for LPX. Thank you for this!
I ever hear, once more, that she made a bad man out of him, I'll, I'll, I'll...
Oh, THAT's what he's saying ... I thought she made a "Batman" out of him. That would be a good thing, right?
“Now la-ove don’t come easy, easy… ‘lashtalll’” ???
"and I can, hardly hmbreheueeth"
Trey Parker cheezy South Park song vibes
“Zeneedyolun now la af don’t come easy, easy scal. Ya made a Batman outameee”
Amazingly helpful video, thanks so much for taking the time to make it!
This is a VERY good video. Learning a ton. Things are explained very well. Bravo!
Thanks for an awesome Video!! Just one question, Where can I found that song you mixing. Have you been sharing it on any platform? like Spotify? Best Regards
now LO-OVE DON'T COME EASAAAYYY....
YOU MADE A BAD MAN OUTTA MEEEE
*for real tho, thanks for this video*
So comprehensive, well explained and well structured. Thank you for this wonderfully helpful video.
Wonderful mixing tutorial, I'm just on minute 18 and already have learning and improve my song sound quite a lot, thanks !
Hey! Do you have a video on how to go from mixing to mastering? Also what does the Sub Mix exactly do? I just notice that there are some plug ins that you use for the sub mix that are also used for mastering. Help! haha
I was wondering how you import a reference track to your project and how you use that when mixing? I noticed you created an Aux channel for this in the video.
That was an audio track. You import the audio you plan to use as a reference to the reference track and solo back and forth between the reference and your mix
Rob, Thank You for this excellent and extremely well put together course. I was glued to the screen for the duration. This was so clearly organized, one of the best if not the best courses I have found on UA-cam on this subject. This is exactly what I needed and you covered it front to back crystal clear. You obviously know the material cold and you have an extremely efficient method of getting the information across. I took a lot of notes! I've subscribed and will be looking forward to following your other videos. Much appreciated..
SO glad it was helpful. Enjoy the process!
This is awesome. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this.
im a little confused on when you mentioned gain staging in the very beginning, you said the sweet spot is -18 but most tracks were going well over -18 once you actually started gain staging? im sure im missing something but if you could elaborate what that means then i would appreciate it, thanks!
I’m confused as well on his explanation
The sweet spot is -18db to -6db. (bouncing in between) Aim to make sure nothing goes over -6db before the final mixdown, that gives you headroom to boost if you need to, without clipping. I literally just learned this in School For Audio Production.
"You made a batman out of me"
Man, thank you so much for this! Excellent information and very well laid out. Walked through a mix today while going through this tutorial, super helpful. Thank you!
Possibly the most useful video I've ever watched on YT. Thank you.
Title of the song (if it has been released)?
Probably "love don't come easy." lol
The title of the project says BAD MAN
Very straight forward information that's easy to understand and convenient to reference back to. Thanks a ton!
One of the most Clearance explanation on youtubee , realy sounds good to me , Thanks
Thank u so much bro this is going to be sooo helpful. Been looking for a video like this for ages :D
