why is an indie company even tryin to make a smash clone still with smash being the best version.... as in if im gona play any smash game it sure as hell isnt gona be this garbage
This is one of the most braindead takes I've seen in a while. You can voice your opinion, but it has no merit or validity if you are spouting shit without fully experiencing the game. I had the exact same thought process as you until I actually sat down and sunk in time to rivals 1. And let me tell you, the gameplay design and engines have EXTREMELY different philosophies compared to smash. Smash is made to be a fun party game with balanced enough characters for competitive play. Rivals on the other hand focuses on making the game as smooth as possible with a movement system that takes good things from melee and improves upon it; as well as making characters with mechanical synergy and spatial resources to make the competitive play more dynamic. Rivals 2 is just an expansion of the first, adding new mechanics and switching to 3d to appeal to a new audience. I encourage you to actually have backing to your statement, and not just saying it's a "smash clone." Same genre, not the same game.
The only things that’s rivals 2 has similar to smash is the shield and trapping the edge of the wall and grabs. That’s pretty much it everything else is from its original game rivals of aether. Stop being a hater.
