There''s always something...Did everything like in the video. When I had it initially installed, when Mike says to plug in the switch to get the mounting point for the window (around 6:00 in video) in a good position to connect the bolt, it wouldn't come up that far. It just stopped. So, I had to take it out completely, hook up the connections and move that connection to a point I thought would be about correct. Reinstalled it, and was able to put in a bolt. The window works, but it struggles greatly to get the window all the way down. It's not normal, but it does go all the way up now, so I think I'm done. good video though, couldn't have done it without it. And I did buy the part from 1A because of the help
Your video was great! I ordered the part from a1auto.com because of how informative your video was. I appreciate what a good job you guys are doing over there. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Thx.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I will go to you for any future car needs first. Unfortunately, you guys were out of stock on this part. But I'll be sure to go to you guys first for all my future needs.
Thanks. Worked well for me. My glass frame was stuck at the bottom and I could not pull it up to align with the hole in order to drill out the rivet. Luckily, I was able to angle the drill down through the bigger hole on the right. You just need to wear out the rivet and it will eventually give and your window is free!
There's always some kind of snag, isn't there? Sounds like you've got enough experience to work through those kinds of problems. Good work! Thanks for watching the video. 1aauto.com 866-403-3393

After successfully performing this task the window goes down smooth and fast however, when raising the window it hangs up then stops but if you pull forward and up it will go up. Is there an adjustment somewhere I didn't do? Thank you
+66lwmorgan This is most likely due to the window guide needing some maintenance. For full-frame windows, the left and right side of the window frame act as guides for the glass. Spray silicone lube into the guides, and raise and lower the window a few times.

Following along perfectly, but I've gotten to the point where I need to drill through the rivet, however, the window is stuck in the up position. Cable is not jammed or obstructed at all. Honestly, I think the window has been "glued" shut by the sun since it's been years since it has been lowered. Any advice on how to free it without causing any damage? Please help, I'm completely stuck right now.
+Nick Littlewolf Compare the two and see if they are the exact same size and cut in the same dimensions. We always recommend replacing with exact parts
I have a 02 explorer and I ordered rear window motors and regulators for it from 1A auto. But, once they're installed, they only go up and not down. What could be the problem??? Thanks
+Robert Coleman This could be an issue with the window switch. I would recommend taking this to a mechanic and having this properly diagnosed. There could also be some damage to wiring somewhere between the motor and the switch causing this to only go one direction.
Great video and very useful. However, the problem I have is I believe that the motor is dead. My window is in the "up" position and therefore the rivet is not available in the panel hole for removal. How can I get the rivet out so that I can remove the regulator and replace it..or the motor ?? Any info would be appreciated. Thanx in advance.
Once the door panel is off you should be able to move the window up and down by hand. If you can't the cable on the window regulator may be jammed on something and preventing it from moving. If this is the case, once you free the cable up you should be able to move the window. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 866-403-3393
Just did this today the top and bottom bolts for the window bracket not the motor started turning the moment I put a socket on it be prepared with a grinder

The camera close ups on the removing parts sucks! You'll need a better camera person. Aside from that the video isn't so bad. But I will say you'll need to do that for a Ford Explorer sports Trac. Especially for the 2002. Cause not all removing parts on the panel are the same.
I did this with an aftermarket regulator (not from 1A Auto) and had a problem with the limit strap slamming against the cable run. Workaround: ua-cam.com/video/-ROVyvlOcho/v-deo.html

If the regulator had been replaced by a dealer before would they have re-riveted the window or most likely have used a nut and bolt?
+sewing1243 It could have either but usually a nut and bolt. Thanks for watching!

Whats the length of that M6 bolt.
My RH rear window was stuck on up position too. I drilled a hole the same size and on the right spot where the rivet is, problem solved.
