Mike, thanks a lot for your brilliant lessons. I am a 69 year old guitar player from Holland, who grew up with the Beatles, but I am still discovering the essence of their music thanks to you.
Always believed that the Beatles were amazing, but it turns out that just amazing doesn't get halfway to describing them because they were absolute geniuses and you make it all come alive, Mike. Thank you.
I've known these songs for more than 50 years. I played basic barre chords for ages. But every time I watched footage of them in concert, I wondered what they were playing. I finally know! Thank you for this gift! Cynthia
The thing for a solo guitarist at home practicing is, which part are you gonna play/learn, you almost have to choose which one to learn unless you're an octopus. If you get good enough you can kind of play a compromise of both.
It's debatable from me to you reached no one on the BBC's official billboard charts in may 63 it's a question that often pops up in quizzes and please please me often is the bug bearer but George Martin did say them historical words and we were blessed with an array of glorious moments and music by them
Thanks for that Mike. Loved it. I get goosebumps ever time I hear that song as I remember how I felt . . . ooh about 60 odd years ago . . . when I first heard it!
Love your break downs of all these classic Beatles songs Mike. Thanks so much for taking the time to do it and thanks for your cheerful, pleasant manner.
Mike I cannot thank you enough for your all your fantastic lessons on Beatles. It´s hardly seen such a combination of a great musician and lovely , enthusiastic, outgoing personality... all your lesson are a big thing and your help to amateur guitar players is enormous. By far the best tutorials on the timeless Beatless songs on the Internet. Thank you soooo much for all you have done and posted!!!
Mike, just found you. You make everything very understandable. You're quite an impressive artist yourself. "Please, Please Me" is one of my very favorite early Beatles songs. You fill in the blanks with chord illustrations others don't. I now have a much better understanding of the John-George bi-play. The splitscreen and the final version of yours is outstanding. Thank you very much for keeping John and George alive!
That is incredible story I never get tired of hearing story's like that about what really goes on behind the scenes of greatest musical act in history of world called beatles
The more I listen to Please, Please Me the more I think it’s their greatest song. I’m pretty sure I first heard this about a month after JFK’s assassination. For that generation, the Beatles pulled a lot of young people out of the shock and gloom of that horrible event.
This is possibly my favourite (or second favourite after I Saw her ..) Beatles song done by my def Fave Beatles Boss , Mike P. Can't believe I missed it in my feeds. Brilliant! Ty, Mike!
Wow, love your deep dive into the history of the songs. Really cool. I remember hearing the Beatles around ‘62 or 63’ for the first time. Still love to hear these songs. Thanks!
Excellent! Excellent as always! YOU will go down in history as the man who parsed the Beatles’ guitar playing into a form that both novices and the musically trained can grasp and savor. Thank you !!
Hey Mike! Never realized George followed the vocal line on his Gretsch!!! Now that I listen to it again, there it is!! Thanks for the lesson, great coverage on an amazing song!! Can't wait for more!!
11/30/22 Fantastic job recreating all the authentic detail and all the correct "Beatles Chord-Shapes", that they used in all their early songs. Even what seems at first to be a simple Beatles song, is embellished with all sorts of hidden, complex detail, that may be buried in the recordings, but can be seen and heard I n live performances. No other band ever played better when live, than The Beatles, and you always replicate that perfectly. Thank you for your great work.
Mike, I have seen several of your videos and enjoyed them all. Your attention to detail is amazing Mike. Thank you for so graciously sharing your work.
Mike Pachelli; a one man Beatles tribute band. In an interview, Paul recalled how they pleaded with George Martin to not release "How Do You Do It" saying, "We can't be seen wearing that song."
"Please Please Me" was the first Beatles song I heard. I loved it right away. It had a lot of energy and was really different than anything playing on the radio in those days. I listened to it on my car radio one night coming home from a date. I was 18 and living in Menlo Park, Ca. Kept the car radio playing as I parked my car in the driveway. It was 1963. A DJ on KYA radio (San Francisco) brought a record over from England. Said the Beatles were a big hit in Great Britain. Then he said too bad we'll probably never get to hear much of the Beatles here in the U.S. even though they were a great band. LOL!
You should be made Professor of The Beatles music Mike . Another insightful and enjoyable lesson . One of the only good things about this terrible time being locked up is your lessons.
Absolutely outstanding Mike and thank you for taking the time and effort to upload this very accurate account of the Beatles song ... The back story is also just as important as the song itself , a nice touch to compliment the video ... Merry Christmas to you ...
Always the best mike, thank you so much, it’s awesome to learn from someone who not only knows beatle song by heart, but by someone who shares such admiration for the lads. Thank you.
Fantastic yet again Mike, thank you. Your enthusiasm and passion is a joy. It's lovely to see how they played. Have a lovely Christmas and a happy new year!!
Thank you so much Professor Pachelli for all your wonderful lessons.........please take good care.....all the best! ...............Love The Beatles........always..........
Amazing video! You do such a great job at making these videos! I think they tended to add an A7 in the middle eighth in their live shows, which makes it sound really cool
Carmix - You are right. John & George turned MANY of their chords into 7ths (when they played live) that did not appear on their records. Good ears you have!
Another GREAT one Mike! I love the historical background and "Fun Facts"! And typing of "Fun", you can really tell you had fun with this one! Cheers, MB
Another amazing lesson and accurate performance of a Beatles song. The music is so perfect, I don’t even mind your singing! lol. And you get extra credit for the George Lucas effect in the lower left box. 2 of you singing in harmony, in sync and can’t even tell that you layered it. As a professional video editor, I’m impressed.
Terrific lesson & great rendition of that classic Beatles tune Mike! How those four lads from Liverpool were able to write & play all of those songs is totally incomprehensible to me.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time - but your lessons are so comprehensive and clear that I can’t help but learn so many Beatles tunes. Just a fantastic channel and you seem like a great guy too. I really look forward to your videos.
Fred - take it REAL slow for awhile. Practice it half speed with a metronome and build up to speed gradually. And don’t stress about how long it may take. I’m still working on things I’ve tried to play 40 years ago!!
Fabulous!!! So much information an techniques. I´ve been playing The Beatles for more than 30 years but never got so much tricks and basic stuff like those in Mike´s videos.God bless people like him. By the way, he looks like John Lennon early 1967.
Hi Mike. Thanks for your show. I really liked your instruction on please 16:12 please me by the Beatles! I’m looking for instruction for that song. Thanks again! Tom Carey
When they first brought PPM to Martin, he listened and then suggested they increase the tempo to which they responded “What’s tempo?” Innocence and genius colliding. Great job, Mike!
Great video! Starting with a riveting five minute description of the background of the song (the confusion in stereo/mono mixes was new info for me), detailed lesson and ending with a great cover of the song.
The Beatles were also great at three-part vocal harmony eg "Nowhere Man" & "Yes It is". But I think their performance of "This Boy" in Miami Beach (Ed Sullivan Show, Feb-1964) was superb. Trivia : The instrumental version of "This Boy" is called "Ringo's Theme".
Mike, my guitar playing ended about 45 years ago. Don't remember exactly why, but it did. Nonetheless I look forward to your weekly lesson. Please keep up the good work and Merry Christmas to you.
Mike; you are the man!!! This was fun to watch. Thx for the tip about them slowing/speeding the tape. I play bass along to the Please Please Me mono track and I have to tune my bass between Eb and E to sound in tune with The Beatles.
David Dickmeyer - Thanks for noticing that. And for the record - each video takes me 5 or 6 days working from 9am to 10 or 11pm. Research. Learning. Perfecting. Memorizing. Scripting. Videotaping. Recording. Audio Editing. Post production. Video editing. PhotoShop chord block creating. Inserting. Rendering. Finalizing. Mastering. And then uploading. A whole lot of ing-inging!! LoL
@@MPfrance I understand completely. I am the president of my local wood turners group and we are doing Zoom meetings. Three cameras and a lot of set-up time making sure all is good. Even then something always goes a bit off when pushing all the buttons. Thanks again for all your efforts. Being a Beatle nerd like yourself always makes the day go by better! Now if I could just play them as well as you do....Happy Holidays!
Thank you. I am self-taught, and I've been faking my way through songs like this without getting them exactly right, and without understanding how and why they work.
Please keep these lessons coming. The most accurate and detailed on UA-cam
Archie Tomlinson - Thanks and Will do - many more to come!
Mike, thanks a lot for your brilliant lessons. I am a 69 year old guitar player from Holland, who grew up with the Beatles, but I am still discovering the essence of their music thanks to you.
i may have said this before but will again - these are the best Beatles guitar videos ever. You are a great teacher!
Wow, thanks!
Always believed that the Beatles were amazing, but it turns out that just amazing doesn't get halfway to describing them because they were absolute geniuses and you make it all come alive, Mike. Thank you.
Your knowledge of Beatle history is accurate! Great job!
I think accurate might not be the best compliment, although in this day and age it probably is
I think so too, I never hear him tell some facts wrong. = Accurate. And the playing is VERY convincing.
I've known these songs for more than 50 years. I played basic barre chords for ages. But every time I watched footage of them in concert, I wondered what they were playing. I finally know! Thank you for this gift!
Cynthia
Cynthex - you are most welcome - glad I can be of some assistance!
The thing for a solo guitarist at home practicing is, which part are you gonna play/learn, you almost have to choose which one to learn unless you're an octopus. If you get good enough you can kind of play a compromise of both.
"Gentleman, you've got your first Number One hit."

Glad you like them!
Bless you, Mike, for dissecting these recordings and helping to understand why exactly they sound so great. Thank you.
I do not know how to play any instrument, I just love Mike's love of the music.
These Beatles lessons are priceless, Mike.
"I think you've got your first Number 1" great job Mike. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Dude, please keep making videos like this. Thank you for passing along your knowledge, very insightful.
You got it!
So good. Both the Beatles' genius and your breakdown of the parts and your great version of this classic song. Thanks Mike. What a fun tune.
You make my 69 year old heart feel young again❤️

Informative, accurate, technical superb, brilliant performance, great playing. This guy does the best tutorials on UA-cam bar none.
Wow, thanks!
Mike is a Beatles scholar extraordinaire.
Almost like John and George themselves making guitar lessons of their songs. Thank you Mike for the great, detailed lessons.
Mike, your love of the Beatles shows through! GREAT lesson!

one of my top 5 favorite Beatles songs. John's harmonica makes it so much better
Amazing as ever. Keep them coming Mike! Merry Christmas.
Happy holidays!
Mike, you're awesome, truly! This video was too much work for a few thousand views... We really appreciate it!

Your Beatles covers are amazing Mike!
I think this song is really great ... rhythm, melody, vocal harmonies and a great Ringo.
Bravo Mike. !!
Mike you are simply the best teacher of Beatles as there is. Thanks so much.
I’m having so much fun sitting in the studio with you! More goosebumps!
Hey Mike! Never realized George followed the vocal line on his Gretsch!!! Now that I listen to it again, there it is!! Thanks for the lesson, great coverage on an amazing song!! Can't wait for more!!
My favorite Beetles ch'une! Thanks for the back story.
Every time I watch this lesson, I pick up something new... thanks Mike this is super great.
Wow. Doesn’t look simple to me. And to think George was barely 20 when he came up with all his bits and riffs. Amazing. Thanks!
I never saw beatles video in such deep understanding, and analysis on both John and George's guitar play. Great job.
11/30/22 Fantastic job recreating all the authentic detail and all the correct "Beatles Chord-Shapes", that they used in all their early songs. All your guitars amps and pedals all so perfect!!!
I loved hearing/watching this, Mike. It's the next best thing for those of us who wanted to be Beatles ourselves.

I enjoy your teaching on Beatles songs. it is simply awesome and watching you makes me happy. From Fareast wonder land which is called Japan
MAN! You make it look so easy! If John Lennon were alive today, he'd love you, Sir!
Another amazing lesson and accurate performance of a Beatles song. The music is so perfect, I don’t even mind your singing! lol. Love the back story, as well as the instructive lesson!
Excellent tutorial Mr. Pachelli.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Incredibly thorough and detailed, as usual. That sixteenth note bit gives me fits. Still working on that!

Great lesson Mike - I'm off to get the tab now. : )
Great instructions on both the guitar types. Very good! 👍
I was so interested in the story I forgot I came for a guitar lesson. Thanks!
Absolutely awesome Mike.
Wow great job on the performance, and thanks for a super tutorial as well ! The background info what a bonus
Excellent as usual with a history lesson thrown in which I find fascinating 👌
Lovely song, great demo., Well done Mike!

Best Beatles guitar lessons on UA-cam!
Thanks Mike. I’d love to see you include your bass playing sometime.
During the bridge where they sing the second “In my heart” I always thought John played “In” (E) “my” (A) “heart” (E). Great video, as always.
I'm loving your breakdowns of those cool songs. thanks.
Fun stuff as always Mike
It must take you hours to analyze and do these videos! And I sure appreciate it! Great work Mike!
