- I am excited to introduce my 17th baby to everyone! He is my 9th boy and I have 8 girls. I talk about the anticipation leading up to his birth, how the other kids react to him, and what he is like.

As a mother of five, I can tell you most assuredly that you will NEVER have to worry about who is going to take care of you in your old age. I am now 73 and had some medical issues - and my children swarm in and out to make sure I'm taken care of, they go shopping for me, they hang out with me, other siblings join them, and I am more than well taken care of. I even caught them fighting over who was going to have me live with them when I could no longer take care of myself (which, please God, will NEVER happen), because they all wanted me to live with them. I was so honored. I never let on that I overheard their precious argument. My needs are all taken care of - and my wants are their demand - and they spoil me in the most cheerful and loving way. I vowed when each of them was born that "I will never leave you nor forsake you as long as I live, and I will treat you with dignity and respect all your life." From their infancy I was always careful never so much as tell them to Shut Up!. I never called them names nor derided their humanity, but made it a point to be life-affirming to them. We had a rough time of it since my husband died after the last baby was born and my oldest was only eight and I had three little ones in between, but because of my promise that I made to them when they were just two seconds old and still attached to me via the cord, it really helped to center me and never veer from my first duty to them as their mother, even while working full time and then starting my own business so I could be all things to them. I never remarried only because I didn't trust men enough not to molest the children or hurt them any way. I didn't need a husband as much as I needed to provide a safe and secure haven for my babies. We didn't have much money, but, by God's grace, they never went to bed hungry and always had a roof over their heads. We read the Bible on a weekly basis and my trust was totally in the Lord Jesus who helped me weather some very difficult spots, since I had no family as a support system. Christ was my support system and my Rock - all the way. And He never fails. And now that I am old(er), that verse from Proverbs rings true - "Her children shall rise up and call her blessed." Give the children to the Lord, preach by example. When they misbehave, write down a list of all their positive traits and give it to them to read and treasure which always makes them want to live up to your value in them. Never abuse them physically, verbally, emotionally, spiritually or psychologically, and never let anyone else abuse them, either. But most importantly, train them in the ways of the Lord. Make them memorize parts of the Sermon on the Mount - because it's awesome. Do not depend on the church, their Sunday School teachers or school teachers to give them a value system - that job is the parents` and the parents` alone. If you do this in your long road in life, you will, in your old age, be honored, revered, loved and cherished. Children do that for you. They really do. And God is always faithful. His Word never goes void. Live it. Don't just preach it. Your kids will know the difference.
What I'd do to have someone like you in my life to teach me. I'm a mom of three. Baby number four is due in March.

Congrats ! I come from a family of 18 children. Me #13. 13 boys and 5 girls. My parents passed away already but we still together and love each other. We live and different countries but once a year we get together. I have multiple Sclerosis and I feel blessed with the love they give me everyday they call me and some visit me. Congratulations on little Arthur. I’m from a family of 17 children too. My brother, Arthur, died a couple of years ago at the age of 88. We had 9 girls & 8 boys. I’m down to only 2 brothers and 2 sisters. At age 77, the last 5 years have been the saddest of my life. That’s the biggest negative of having a super large family…one day someone will be all alone. I hope your family will enjoy your big family while everyone is still young and healthy. Good luck.
I’m sorry to hear that, I think the beautiful part is that you get to have brothers and sisters around for longer where as small family of 2-3 will end up alone quicker when their siblings die ❤

Congratulations mama. I’m 41 and could never imagine having 7 kids let alone 17! I wanted kids but it never happened but I’ve been blessed with a Nephew and that’s been good enough. 💕

I'm 67 had my first and only biological child at 45 he's 21 now in college. I always wanted kids! The greatest most important job being a Mom!

Wow, you are so blessed to have 17 healthy children. I'm expecting my first at 35, also a boy, and it motivates my to see that some are coping with many kids at once. My pregnancy is hard, I could never survive 17 of these, but despite this, my age and endometriosis, I'm still hoping to have some siblings for him. It's great that your kids have each other. Very sweet babies 😊

I was one of the oldest of eight kids and it was nothing but work from the moment I woke until I fell asleep. At one point, I was actually failing school because of it. Older kids are EXTREMELY overburdened "helping" the parents "handle" WAY more than the parents can actually handle.

It depends on the family. I have 3 kids and will probably only ever have the 3. But my sister has 7 kids and her kids get a good amount of personal autonomy. My sister had her youngest about 3 months ago, and the chores like cooking and cleaning were pretty evenly split between the older kids so no one was overburdened, and she could focus on the baby. But then the teenagers voluntarily took on more, like reading to their newborn brother, or playing dress up with him. They joke he'll have a hard time learning to walk because everyone always wants to hold him. They're homeschoolled the right way too where they are all where they should be academically or even ahead in some subjects, and her kids are also enrolled in their choice of so many different social, extra curricular, and academic activities like youth groups, homeschool groups, soccer, swim, falconry, martial arts, etc. I'm sure there's more I don't know about. And they live in a much bigger house then they used to, so thet get personal time and space too. I know the older kids are avid readers to boot
@@YasuTaniinakids shouldn't be responsible fir all the cooking and cleaning divided or not, mom has responsibilities to her kids. They can have appropriate chores, not sure they need to be doing cooking for the whole family just so mom can just care for the baby. I am from a family of 14. Everyone worked from morning till night!
Dude I failed school at one point because my mother just having ONE other child. It really just depends on a lot of other factors. I would’ve loved to have been blessed with many more siblings.

I changed my laundry routine after your laundry video years ago. I'd love for more videos like that. Meal planning, clothes management, extra curricular activities, managing/organizing all the "stuff" comes in to the house, sharing chores, etc.

I was oldest of 4.
I had 6 children at 26.
Divorced at 31.
Went to nursing school, to provide for my family!!
At 35 and 37 years old, had 2 more. (Remarried)!
In those few years between my two families, I could have potentially had 3 or 4 more! Of course I didn’t.
But in saying all of that, I just wanted to have many more children!!
And I totally enjoy watching videos of you, and others who have had large families!!
I’m in my happy place!! 🤗.
My kids are 25-44. I’m a grandma now!!
But I still love seeing the busyness of a home with lots of kids!!
