In this video we take a small look at the Limited Edition Vanguard in Alien Tech Green, the newly released signature guitar for Dave Mustaine from Kramer Guitars.
I think it would be cool if Kramer made a model that was silver or white with a maple fretboard. I doubt they will, but Kramer does use maple fretboards on most models they have.
@@jesussotelo4775 I like them all, but gibson and epiphone doesn't use maple fretboards where Kramer does. However, none of the dave models have a maple fretboard. My hope is that they make a regular Vanguard and offer it with a maple fretboard. I think the body on these look great, I think Dean has the best headstock on Dave's V. I am a bid fan of the straight string look versus being pulled to one side or the other.
I got mine on Reverb. It was a set of 4, 2Vol 2Tone. Brand is listed as “True Custom Shop”. Cost was around 11$ shipped. If I remember right, the package had red and silver lettering.
im in canada i got my pack for 14 i believe diffrent brand but look amazing, i cant believe the diffrence those knobs make for the aesthetic.. looks like the gibson but without the inlays and none rounded... big reason i went kramer was the pointed V is what dave usually played + the green finish is insane, and the kramer logo in megadeth font??? cant beat that, all same specs more or less, ebony fret, TF pickups, mini grovers , + neck profile etc @@thatsoundsterrible
im about 1 month in and this is such a sick guitar dude! the tone is the best for metal i own and i had the same problem with the action its a little high nothing crazy still playable forsure but thats my only complaint, i get a free professional setup at the store i bought it but i havnt took it in yet cause ive just been loving to play this thing lol, it is my first v so the shape took a few days to get used to but now the classical position is comfy, or i shorten my strap so it just rests on my leg sitting down!!! Cheers on having this sick Green WorkHorse@@thatsoundsterrible
Great video 👍 I have the exact same guitar, I’ve had it for around 3 weeks and it’s really incredible, I bought a gotoh Nashville replacement bridge before the guitar arrived and I’ve still not bothered to replace it , it just sounds and feels awesome . The finish is also flawless. The setup on my one was great, I’ve never adjusted it, my only one gripe is that just like yours the high E is plenty close to the fingerboard edge . How did you go about removing the nut and fitting it again ? Plus the placement, which Tools did you use? Did the nut protrude over the low E side when refitting it? I’d just like to know before I’d consider trying it myself ,
During my string change, I took a nylon hammer (rubber mallet works, a flat head screwdriver works in a pinch), gave a firm but easy tap and the nut popped loose. I bought a String Spacer Ruler on Amazon, was around 20-25$ and I measured the width of the neck and the slots on the nut and aligned it that way. The nut did protrude over the low E about 1/16th” not enough for me to be concerned with filing it smooth.
Hey,Bro…. Did you encounter any intonation issues? I sent mine back and getting the replacement today. I wasn’t able to dial in the Low E string, not enough travel with the saddles. I couldn’t get the string to ring sharp when fretted at 12th fret.
i mean the dots arent the worst considering for standard gibson Vs they get dots but i do agree shark fin style would of been nice or the ones Kramer uses on the SM-1s are super sick theyre called Inlay: Kramer Mini Headstocks, 12-fret engraved Kramer
ya that would of been sick i feel like they wanted people to want a reason to buy the gibson models more (which is a piss off considering these are pricey as is)... only alternative is inlay stickers and im not putting inlay stickers on it lol ill stick with dots@@FortessofShred
I have this model and I am very happy with it. I also have the Gibson Alien and I really enjoy this more.
thinking about getting one (im late to the party). is the action really as bad as he says here?
Mine was Perfect out of the box. She's a beast👹
Of all the guitars I see there, I’d say that’s the nicest guitar you have

They do have a silver model.

Agreed on the aesthetics! Love mine with the witch hat knobs. Outside of the inlays it’s an incredible guitar!
Congrats on yours!

Out of the box it was not intonated, but I was able to get mine dialed in with out any mods to the saddle or bridge.
Aesthetically its just unappealing. It needs better fret markers and an ebony board. Very underwhelming.
Should have used ☢️ markers
It has an ebony board
