Great video, I just purchased a Pingo doce labeled Tawny Port wine (the cheapest, haha) and it is actually really good and from the Symington family estate. What an awesome video! Thanks for introducing us to Kalie’s parents and sharing your experience with your viewers. We didn’t have time to visit the valley in late October but the scenery reminds us a lot of the Napa Valley here in California. How was the vinho verte? We didn’t know there was variety before visiting PT. Hope to visit on a future trip soon.🍷 🥂
Hey, Maurice! Thank you for the compliment. We agree, the scenery is similar to Napa Valley. Hello. I hope you get to visit more regions in Portugal. We are dmall but pack a lot in a small package. By the way, it's Vinho Verde. If you are familiar with spanish, the portuguese word means the same as in spanish - green. In the case of the Vinho Verde that is not a name sbout the colour but it's green as use to mean new. Vinho Verde is new wine that is not fermented so it retains a bit of gas making it taste both sweet yet bubbly-like. It's great with fish or shellfish food but it can also be a great summer wine to drink chilled while enjoying an evening in the shade. But really, you can drink it anytime, any excuse is a good excuse to drink Vinho Verde. V8nho Verde is exclusive to the region of Minho in Northwest of Portugal, it's a designated and protected denomination (both by local national law and by EU law) so only this part of the world can produce Vinho Verde.
You should have taken the riverside train all the way up to Pocinho. This year in particular the weather was perfect for that. Much better than a river cruise.
Hey, those are the same grape elevators that we use in our wine production in Washington. I know everything about how to clean that equipment, twice a day! Nice video. Looking forward to meeting wine producers there.
