One of the biggest reason for not placing trash bins in Korea is due to the recycling policy where people must segregate recyclable items and pure garbage. When the Korean government has introduced the system in the 90's a lot of selfish people just threw their garbage into the public thrash cans or garbage bins in the street instead of going trouble of purchasing the mandatory city garbage bag and separate them according to recycle policy. Thus a lot of municipal governments and communities (apartments, buildings) removed away public thrash cans in the streets as well as in the apartment complexes. Now very rarely we will see those selfish types of earlier days, but the custom of not placing garbage bins and thrash cans in the public area continues. hehe
i was watching a we fancy video where they talked about the recycling policy and that was the first thing that came to mind when i saw "this problem". placing recycle bins everywhere is possible but i dont think its that feasible due to the cost.
I like how you present your topic. Very realistic . Ive seen a couple of you videos and I must admit , Im sliking it . You seem to have a very light spirit and seem to be always happy. Keep it up!
I experienced the trash bin problem in Japan as well. Especially when I buy those microwave meals from their convenience stores! Not to mention Japan's crazy over-the-top packaging. Even when I do find a trash bin, it's so tiny I can barely fit my trash into it, seems to be more for smokers. Very odd
That's right. It's the same in Japan. Japanese do not eat and drink while walking. The trick is to find vending machines because there are dustbins usually located next to it.
오빠, 싱가포르 also nowadays cars don't stop for people to cross and train or bus they don't move in.. So I guess this bad habits is from original which country 저는 몰라요
In contrast, in Boston area the city is called a walking city and so cars have to stop for any jailwalkers. Even in a 40mps highway. But in NY city, you'll get run over by cabs just like Seoul. No trash bin = less $ for taxes. ^^
They are hogging at the train door because they want to make sure that they can get out of the train in case it gets crowded in the train I guess. It’s a common and selfish behaviour.
video.toggle.sg/en/series/job-x-change/ep4/370207 Ard 14 min mark, the korean cleaner explained why thats a lack of bins but thats also sounds unconvincing.. Hahahahahaha Well, have to praise the sg govt extensive efforts to minimize the problem of hogging at doorways and never give ways but seems nowadays sg also experiencing the same things esp when the public transports starts to get overloaded..
Just wondering whether it is because of the Korean government’s recycling program for trash. I vaguely remembered watching a documentary about a Singaporean cleaner working with a korean cleaner in Korea.
omg .. i don't think your haters are really koreans but even if they are don't mind them. i mean who cares about them hahaha my friends and i are all koreans and they love foreigners including singaporeans. I think you should post what really think about korea. I think they just got offended just because you are too awesome lolll every country has positive and negative parts
I guess the reason for no dustbin is hard to find workers clear the dustin, given the employement standard in Korea. Unless they willing to get 조선족 to do the job?
Singaporean In Korea Everywhere. Everyday. I saw a guy spit inside McDonald's in Busan. And there's always spit in the elevator at my officetel. Really. I swear. In fact I saw it just now when I came back. Elevator got many spits. Eww.
Sure thing, let me plan a video on that. Thanks for the feedback! In Korean, we call that "Business Manners". I will make a vid series covering that, its a huge topic haha
The real reason is that there is no trash can in Japan, and since Korea is influenced by Japan in so many ways, this is the feature that Korea takes from Japan. Their trash classification and recycling are also influenced by Japan.
Yeah, the best explanation I have heard so far is that after the recycling has been established, Korean's took to throwing into the public trash bins. As such these trash bins have to be taken away for the recycling to work.
Haha.... just playing! I like foreigners living in Korea, cause you're supporting our economy. I like you, you seem like a good dude and seem fair when it comes to reporting life in Korea. Subscribed!
Nah, we Korean don't want you to live here. Please go back to your country where you came from. Tourist, visitor and student may be okay, but if you wanna live here, you must show respect and try to assimilate. Otherwise pls get out of Korea asap.

WOW! That's a totally new perspective! Thanks for sharing!!! This is the most convincing reason i have ever heard so far! Thank you!

Very interesting share! Thanks!

is that even a zebra crossing to them...LMAO
In San Francisco & other big cities in CA you have to be a defensive pedestrian, it’s basically really similar with the street traffic here.
What bother me the most is air pollution and the smell. We could not open window to get fresh air. It smells bad most of the places.
Thanks for sharing. This is really useful. 👍
Thanks for enjoying my video! I hope you find it useful and do sub and tell your friends about me. :)
오빠, 싱가포르 also nowadays cars don't stop for people to cross and train or bus they don't move in.. So I guess this bad habits is from original which country 저는 몰라요
싱가폴에도 그러다고???? 실망했네....
omg ur ending is so gold.....I as a Malaysian can literally relate to it...graciassss
hhahahahaha glad you enjoyed it! Do sub and tell your friends about me! :)
Regarding not stoppping for pedestrians, does that mean the courteous bowings are superficial and hence insincere ?
I think you are beginning to get it. :)
1. Pallie Pallie
2. Corona
3. Dirty clouds XD

Thank you for your interesting perspectives! :) But taxes are still crazy high in korea despite not having trash bins haha up to 30% personal tax.
Singapore is probably one of the few Asian countries where cars give way to pedestrians :D Try crossing roads in Vietnam or even Malaysia
Yeah man!!
Yup! Singaporean people are considerate and patient... In japan, ppl will also give way to pedestrians or cyclists on the street...
They are hogging at the train door because they want to make sure that they can get out of the train in case it gets crowded in the train I guess. It’s a common and selfish behaviour.
I guess so...

And so much of the population now who weren't born and raised in Singapore with the same education and value...
Just wondering whether it is because of the Korean government’s recycling program for trash. I vaguely remembered watching a documentary about a Singaporean cleaner working with a korean cleaner in Korea.
Agree with you on everything!
Thank you for endorsing my message!!
In Singapore MRT - same here, people do not want to move in.... as if like there are ghosts inside the train o_O
omg .. i don't think your haters are really koreans but even if they are don't mind them. i mean who cares about them hahaha my friends and i are all koreans and they love foreigners including singaporeans. hahahaha thank you for your support... i do have many real Korean haters who hates foreigners saying anything negative about their country at all.
Do sub and tell your friends about me. :)
Well meanwhile in Singapore, Singaporeans hog and crowd around the doors of the trains too!
hahahaha Singapore today wasn't the Singapore I remembered. :)
Same in Philippines.
I guess the reason for no dustbin is hard to find workers clear the dustin, given the employement standard in Korea. Unless they willing to get 조선족 to do the job?
Interesting perspective! That could be one concern... they don't want other races to be all over doing this job yet no Koreans would do such a job...

Im singaporean and my crush from korea
Are you here in korea?
My partner resides in Korea. I am thinking of taking a leap of faith to find a job in Korea. Can you advise me??
Singapore is becoming like that now. Getting less and lesser trash bins.. same goes to the train problem.. Singapore is exactly the same too 😡
Limpeh why no highlight on ppl spits everywhere. In McDonald's, on the streets. In the lift :(
Not in Seoul.. perhaps in the country?
in China, yes. I had people even peed on my shoe before.

Told you its not Seoul. Come to Seoul if you wanna experience civilised Korea haha
Mr Limpeh, can teach how to greet and self intro to others in business setting? How those koreans actually do their gestures....
Sure thing, let me plan a video on that. Thanks for the feedback! In Korean, we call that "Business Manners". I will make a vid series covering that, its a huge topic haha
I am pretty sure there will be many videos about Korean Business Manners as many foreigners want to go to Korea to work

Sounds like Malaysia lah.
hahahahaah bit lah!
I thought you used to live in China? Lol all three of those are easier in Korea
I am not comparing China and Korea in this video bro, just showing what Korea is.
I used to live in so many countries that to make cross comparisons is meaningless.
If you don't like it, get out!!!!!!!!!!!
hahahahaha and you don't even bother to see the 100 videos I say good things about korea hahaha oh well
Haha.... just playing! I like foreigners living in Korea, cause you're supporting our economy. I like you, you seem like a good dude and seem fair when it comes to reporting life in Korea. Subscribed!
