One of the best performances I have ever seen virtually. I wish I was there alive. Can you believe the talent of this guy. I cannot believe it has less than half a million votes you people are absolutely f****** numb you don't know the meaning of music. Rock on ray.
Heard this for the first time on Philadelphia's WXPN 12/26/2012, and really liked it. I also commented to myself "Wow, there's a real James Brown influence in this song, especially the guitars". Well, you could have knocked me over with a feather that I was proven right when, at the 5:20 mark on during this clip from Letterman, Ray channels The Godfather of Soul by singing "Gotta Get On the Good Foot!" Well done, and a nice homage to The Hardest Working Man in Show Business :)
Just wicked stank. Once they get warmed up at about 1:30 they just tear it up. I cant help but think tho that the addition of Paul Shaffer's organ woulda taken this to a whole 'nother level. Maybe some horn accents too. Either way...as a musician they are a team to aspire to.
This shit is tight.......can anyone see Jorma and Hot Tuna coming through here ? I mean....Ray and The Dogs are fuckin awesome...REAL Awesome. But I just wanted to bring it up for comparison sake....that's all.
@ticksspoon you know he thinks of himself as highly unattractive and that's why he doesn't make music videos. Little does he know that so many people like you and I find him ruggedly handsome.
Anybody notice the drummer one-handing the fuck outta this tune?!?!? I'm kind of a music snob and can never say enough good things about these guys... These Letterman vids are... just... [inaudible](words just can't)...
+Jesse B i had the extreme pleasure of witnessing his blossoming first hand at school......even back then he was such a filthy monster....just unreal......great guy too....very approachable and giving...would love to play with him again!
The "sentence" remark made me laugh. I truly love and play music with a passion, everything from Radiohead to Run The Jewels to Morning Teleportation to Other Lives. Ray's Storytellers was amazing and 2nd best I've seen after My Morning Jacket, his story's were better than the songs though. I hate to say it, but I basically agree with Bykowski's "amazing grammar." He has a few songs that are stunning, but a lot of them are boring to me as well. Sounds like a shitload of dudes playing right now in Nashville and even in this shitbag town outside of Tampa Bay.
Amazing DRUMMER!!!!!!!!!
Love the completely organic and fluid playing of Jay Bellarose!!
I think I saw Ray smile there just a little.... but his eyed glittered for longer, lot of joy and verve Pariah Dogs bring to his singing.
Lies
Definitely getting some Allman Brothers "Whipping Post" vibes which is always a good thing
The icing on what was already a delectably delicious cake was when he whips out some James Brown there near the end.
Can't wait to see him in June!
