How can you not have heard of him as a musician ? I was very impressed by the somewhat heavier album Picture of a Thousand Faces in 1993. After that I started collecting everything Eric did.

Probably because of his schedule...it's not uncommon for players like Slash to not be aware because they don't usually get to go to too many concerts. Fortunately Eric was playing at the same festival, and Slash became a fan!
Keep in mind he's talking about years ago...this interview might be recent, but the festival he's talking about was years ago.
