The pipes and drums bring out the best in folk, especially soldiers marching behind their regimental band. I am ex-military and the finest thrill I got in my army days was when marching behind the pipe band. There you felt you could have marched through a brick wall. Your chest expanded with pride. The feeling and excitement brought tears to many a brave mans eyes.

I spent some time in Huntly: my Mother & her Sister inherited Huntly Castle during the American Depression. They signed the Castle over to the Scottish Government; they were teenagers & had no $$$$ to assume ownership & restoration. In 2010, my twin sister & I (& our husbands) took my 83 year old Mother to Scotland for nearly a month. Of course, our primary goal was to take her to see "her" Castle, Huntly Castle! It WAS a beautiful & very emotional day as we walked & examined every inch of Huntly Castle!!! My Mother cried, smiled & laughed a lot. It truly was a magical day. Thank You to the Scottish Government for an outstanding restoration!!! My Mother had the time of her life in Scotland, as we ALL did! But, her day in Huntly & at Huntly Castle WAS PRICELESS, STERLING & BRILLIANT! Certainly the highlight of her life. She is now going on 91 years old; and yes, she got to walk "her" castle! We loved Scotland, and we LOVED the Scots - wonderful people! I hope to settle there one day for the rest of my life. Where? I'm thinking Pitlochry as home base. Madly LOVED the Highland games there, and I walked a fair amount of the city/village which was beyond enchanting! Great drum majoring skills. Havent seen talent like this in a long time, over 40 years since our local Drum major was the DM for the New Zealand band and he used to practise on the bay in Timaru. A beautiful sight to behold, but he was so skilled he never had to miss a beaut catching the mace

As a little child 55 years ago with my parents in Spain Gibraltar , and the pipes were playing there at the english part of Spain, and when a see this band and hear it it comes in a thousend of a second back, in my live one of the most soul impressif sounds , at that time i couldnot see the bagpipersplaying behind the Spanish English fens , now i see this band and every week i lookt at the Breamars and being 10 years young again. I used to play Rugby for Caithness when I wa a young man , I remember very well the day we lost to Huntly , but what a great night we had in the toon after the match , great pipe band and wonderful clip , I love to see the drum majors twirling there batons , is a real skill , and respect to the bonny lassie leading
