I think a small percentage of people who were affected by the fires will move to the greater Phoenix area but I bet it won't be a significant amount of people to make much of a difference in the market. Arizona’s Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale metro area has the worst air quality in the country. In 2021, the area experienced unhealthy air quality on 64.9% of days, while only having good air quality 3% of the time. There is no ocean air to push the pollution inland like where the fires are. Phoenix is in a valley and air pollution gets trapped here. On top of that the greater Phoenix area is steam rolling towards another hot summer and we have set new records the past 2 years. The majority of those affected by the fires will move somewhere that doesn't get so hot in the summer because they can afford to.
@@DavidKroff I lived in Huntington Beach and Garden Grove and the air quality was much better because the ocean breeze blew the pollution inland. California has some cities that are bad but Phoenix leads the nation. Phoenix is in a valley with little wind and the extreme heat and wildfires are a bad combo.
@LancelotLink1 Arizona is a big state. Phoenix is only one city. All my neighbors are from California. I wish no one had moved here. It was much better 30-40 years ago.
@@DavidKroff I agree with you. Arizona was better 40 years ago. Ive gone back and forth between California and Arizona for over 40 years and to be honest both states were a lot better back then. In the 1980s, the California beach cities were the best place to live in my opinion but the greater Phoenix area also had its own appeal back then.
The trees are dying in Phoenix. It takes an excessive amount of chemicals to keep them alive. Tree trunks used to grow straight. Now, their trunks bend and contort to disease. 😢😢
Although i don’t live in LA i do live in CA about 2 hours from the fires and these fires have solidified my desire to move out of CA and move to AZ (im not rich nor a democrat for you current Arizonians)
Lived in a house in Boise in the 60's.....my folks bought it for 18K, had to sell for 16K..... family moved to Colorado......the historic house on Harrison blvd now sells for over 1 Million or about 300 a sq ft! I live in Maricopa Az and I am an Idaho native.....
People from CA tired of high taxes, politics, etc have been moving to AZ for years. The fires are another reason why people will come to AZ. It will take a decade for CA to recover.
I agree, i live in the Coachella valley so our summers are extremely similar to Phoenix, i remember buying a sofa from a rich dude who had moved in from LA, dude bought and sold his house within one summer because it was too hot lol
These fires aren’t going to affect the Phoenix area at all. Anyone with a burned Malibu or Palisades home likely already usually has another house or condo inland. Altadena people will rent somewhere local because their jobs are here. If people wanted desert heat they’d go to Vegas or Texas where there’s no state taxes.
Yeah but Vegas has a lot less jobs, and outside the strip is boring. Texas is farther and way more humid, flat, expensive property taxes, hurricanes, tornadoes, freezes.

All my neighbors are from California. You think L.A. pollution is better???

Watching from Vancouver, own in Mesa

These rich people in CA have multiple properties … AZ is too hot for them 😂
Winters are perfect. Lots of golf, car auctions, and spring training. Tons of winter visitors from everywhere in the world.
I’m joining you from Old Town Scottsdale
Watching from Tempe.

I heard a lot of Californians are moving to TN
I live in Tempe but have a furnished rental property in Scottsdale by Old Town.
I’m looking to sell so I’m watching from Sun City, Az, to see how our market will be affected.

More like 30 years.
Don’t think majority of Californians from the coast will move to 115 degree summers in Phoenix.

we are going to be inundated in Phoenix!
They won’t be moving to Az
@ashwitwit6629 Almost all my neighbors are from California. I Hope they don't.
COME TO BEAUTIFUL AZ.

yeah, Phoenix kind of sucks because it's a bunch of HOA's and Karen's and it's way too hot in the summer. That's why I live in Bisbee
