I went to Granite Bay this last spring, and loved the XC type trails out there. I can't wait til the weather cools off a bit, so I can go back out there.
Went to Granite Bay for the first time today, and the trails are definitely pretty smooth and beginner friendly!! Good place for me too get used to mountain biking before I head to more difficult trails :D
Yep! I think there's a place for it. The hardcore guys will tell you it sucks. But honestly I'm not going to granite bay for hardcore riding anyway. I have a few friends that want to try the sport for the first time and that's likely where I'll take em. Unless I want to be mean and just take them straight to Downieville! 😂
Damn I was going to hit you both up and see if you wanted to ride out here next week. Ollie keeps posting on IG and it's spots I don't think I've found yet. I thought I had ridden it all out there! That montage was worth every penny!
So where is this trail exactly? I was out by Beek's Bight today and rode some of the Pioneer Express Trail but it was mostly hike a bike so I had to turn around.
O.k. so beginner here . I went out yesterday and parked in the Beal's Point lot . I didn't find many trails . What is this spot in the video where you parked your truck ?
So for this one I was parked on the beach basically between Beeks Bight and Doton's Point. There's a small spot where you can pull off the main road on your left hand side that I usually drive down to and park on the water. The super fun rock roll stuff is all back behind beeks bight.
It's really a 'choose your own adventure' type of ride along the beach. There are SO many different lines and styles of terrain you can tackle. It's kind of a fun little playground and nice to get off the beaten path once in a while. Plus you can just jump in the water when it gets too hot!
My Friend Sheila rides out there often, she is not happy with the changes seems the people in charge of the trail system lost the MTB advocate, he got tired of fighting the Horse/hiker peeps.
Yea. It's definitely NOT been a change made for the mountain bikers. Which is a shame but we gotta share the trails with everyone so it is what it is. As you can see the back section is an excellent training ground for rock rolls so at least there's still that.
@@CaliradoKid is this inside the state park at the end of Douglas Blvd? I am getting into MTBiking just for exercise not extreme. Looks like a good spot for starter.
@@kenkoy6723 Year late, but yes it is. Parking is $12. Bought my first MTB (Giant Stance 29 2) and took it out here for my first trail. It was a blast even if I only got through about half haha
In this one I'd thrown on a new aggressor in the rear and DHF II in the front. I've since swapped out for the Dissector on the rear. I'm digging the added grip!
@@CaliradoKid Same set up as my SB130. Dissector is a good fast rolling Tyre. Not as grippy as Aggressor. Looking forward to more fun content from The CK . Keep up the great work.
You couldn't spring for "You're the best around, no one's ever gonna keep you down" from Karate Kid for your 80s training montage? So disappointed in you. 😆
@@CaliradoKid I'm going to have to go out there with you guys. Cause I've been there a billion times (since it's 10 minutes from my house), but have no idea where you are sometimes haha
@@toddbz Yea. Well you're too busy hanging out with Ashley to come hang with the cool kids. A.k.a. the kids who DON'T crash their bike everytime they ride it! 😂 By the way I love that guy and need to ride you all more often!!

It's a good spot to ride! The rock rolls are the funnest part.
I'm moving to Lincoln at the end of the month. Looking forward to exploring Granite Bay.
Let me know when you get to town! We’ll show you around!
This time its a real perfectly executed plan! Awesome view of the beach.
It FINALLY all came together!! 😂

Love the finale. Looks refreshing...
Can't beat a good ol' swim in the lake post ride!

I'd be down to ride. I'll hit you up on IG and we'll figure it out.
Wow, the underwater system works!
Yea I picked up a Hero 8 just to play around with on the Kayak. Now I gotta get a proper mounting system for some more elaborate vids.
Love the 80’s rock roll montage 😁
Yes! Worth every penny I paid for that copyright free music! 😂
How can l find this trail?
So where is this trail exactly? I was out by Beek's Bight today and rode some of the Pioneer Express Trail but it was mostly hike a bike so I had to turn around.
So it's a bit of a maze back there. But if you know where the pond is you can head up from there and there is TONS to explore.

80's ;-) "Son, Your Ego Is Writing Checks Your Body Can't Cash." ...
"I feel the need, the NEED FOR SPEED!"
Great video!!
Thanks! Next one is gonna be another adventure with “Matt the Maniac!”
How hard is it to ride along that beach? It looks super challenging. The proper trails did look super fun as always. Great content man

I'm really disappointed with the trail maintenance. They took out all the fun tech. :-( It's almost like a sidewalk it's so flat.
Yea. It's definitely been tamed down. I'm still curious what the full story is. Does anybody know the motivation behind the work?
Could you drop the gps cords for this location? Would love to check it out!

You guys ever come across any rattlesnakes out there?
Same question here. The only reason I don’t want to go into these places.
I’m trying to find this spot it looks like 🔥
If you’re not able to find them hit me up on IG and I’ll sent you the info how to get there!

The montage 😂
I'm not gonna lie. I literally spent $14 on that song to make a 10 second joke. Worth it.
Haha
What tyres did your get?

how did u get there??
So the majority of the rock rolls are back by Beals Point. If that's what you're referring to.

I like hills and downhills. Pedaling all the time on flat terrain is boring.
Nothing wrong with that! BKXC is the same way.
Best $14 ever
Yes. Todd gets it. 😂
